Chapter 1

10 min read2,384 words

In the vast universe, a huge spaceship was navigating. In one of the rooms, a man in his thirties sat by the window, lost in thought as he gazed outside.

A loud, violent bang echoed as the door was blown open, and a group of armed soldiers burst in, their guns aimed at the man as if they were facing a formidable enemy. However, the man seemed oblivious, continuing to look out the window.

The sound of crisp high heels rang out, and a graceful woman in a military uniform walked in, her eyes blazing with anger. She glared at the man sitting by the window and said coldly, "Mo Wen, you are arrested for crimes against humanity. Everything you have will be handed over to the Supreme Court for trial!"

The man turned his head. To outsiders, his handsome face and mature demeanor made him stand out, but to the woman who knew the truth, he was no different from a demon. Pointing out the window, the man whispered, "Look, Xingye, how beautiful the fireworks are outside. Don't you want to see them?"

"You bastard!" Mo Wen's words struck a nerve, and the woman almost roared as she yanked him up and pinned him against the wall, her small frame surprisingly powerful.

"You lunatic, you destroyed hundreds of resource planets just to watch a fireworks show!"

Outside the spaceship, countless stars twinkled in the vast universe, their light dazzling and the entire sky exceptionally beautiful. Normally, the woman might have appreciated the view, but now she had no such mood. Each shining star could be a resource planet destroyed by the man, and each twinkle meant countless people were displaced and homeless.

"Is that so, you don't want to see? What a pity." The man, pinned against the wall, remained unperturbed, shrugging his shoulders and turning his head to look at the scenery outside.

Xingye took a deep breath to calm herself, grabbed the man's collar, and asked, "Why did you do this? What for? Money? Status? Women? You are the son of our Speaker and the Chief Scientist of the Federation. What more do you want?"

As if hearing the woman's voice for the first time, the man turned his head, his eyes glowing red with madness and desire. "Why? Of course, for transcendence!"

The man pointed at the scenery outside, his voice trembling. "In your eyes, those are the aftereffects of exploding planets. In mine, they are the path to transcendence! Transcending everything, surpassing everything, I—will be eternal and immortal!"

The man's fervent gaze frightened her. She had never seen such intense emotion in his eyes. He had always been calm, wise, and gentle, and this was the first time she had seen him so out of control. She instinctively released him and took a few steps back, whispering, "You're insane!"

The man, however, was unperturbed. He glanced at the starry sky one last time, straightened his collar, and smiled at the woman. "Well, it's about time. I should be going."

"Where are you going?" The woman immediately became alert, her hand moving to aim countless laser guns at the man, red dots covering his entire body. Although she had checked the room and found nothing unusual, as the Federation's most outstanding scientist, the man could not be underestimated. He might have hidden some weapon.

The man smiled faintly, snapped his fingers, and a pitch-black hole suddenly appeared in the room, rapidly expanding to envelop him entirely.

"Fire!" Unable to understand the scene, the woman still gave the correct order.

Numerous beams of light burst forth but strangely passed through the black hole, hitting the walls instead. The man and the black hole seemed to have left this space, visible but untouchable.

"Goodbye, Captain Xingye!" As the black hole gradually closed, the man smiled at her. "What a pity, I couldn't get you into bed before I left. It's a shame, but I'll be back, and you won't escape."

His eyes revealed a different kind of passion as he gradually disappeared into the air.

The woman shivered involuntarily, instinctively hugging her ample chest. She had a bad feeling that she would meet the man again.

In an unknown space, the man suddenly appeared, looking around at the white expanse. He frowned and called out loudly, "Yuanchu, come out!"

"Coming, coming," a clear voice replied. A strange woman suddenly appeared beside Mo Wen, hugging him tightly, her body pressing against his, her head rubbing against him. "Master, you're so good to me, destroying hundreds of resource planets to extract their essence and build my body. That's almost half the essence of a major world. I love you the most."

The essence, the most important thing in a world, the rules of operation, the foundation of all things. Without the essence, a world would cease to exist.

Mo Wen, unable to help but smile, pulled the woman away, not lingering on the soft touch. It wasn't that she wasn't beautiful; on the contrary, she was the most beautiful girl Mo Wen had ever seen. Yuanchu had no fixed form, or rather, she had all forms. Her appearance and figure remained unchanged, but they could change with time, environment, or even the mood of others. Her demeanor also changed constantly, making her a combination and optimization of countless top beauties, the most exquisite beauty Mo Wen had ever seen. (PS: Yuanchu's current form is a cute, spoiled little girl.)

Mo Wen pulled her away because he couldn't be with Yuanchu, or rather, he couldn't yet. If she continued to rub against him, Mo Wen would have to find a way to release his tension, and he didn't want to do that.

"Cough," he cleared his throat, blocking Yuanchu from pouncing on him again and asked, "What's the situation now? Didn't I extract the essence from the major world I was in? Why is it still so desolate here?"

Yuanchu pouted, took out a pair of glasses from somewhere, and transformed into a knowledgeable, bespectacled woman. She said in a cold, clear voice, "To avoid wasting the essence of the major world, I only built a basic body. Nothing else was created, so it's naturally desolate." Her voice, combined with her current appearance, made Mo Wen feel an urge to press her down and ravage her.

Yuanchu, however, ignored Mo Wen's state and continued in her cold, clear voice, "Master should know that I am a creation above the essence, a divine artifact. My power depends on the amount and nature of the essence. The essence of a major world, being an independent world, is stronger and harder to obtain than that of a minor world. It shouldn't be wasted here. If you want a more comfortable environment, it's better to plunder the essence of minor worlds."

Mo Wen nodded, understanding what Yuanchu said. Based on the introduction from Yuanchu and the spatial theories he had learned, he had a good grasp of the current situation.

The world he was in was not the only one. Based on some unknown existence, there were countless worlds in this universe. Due to their independence, these worlds were divided into two types: one was the major worlds, which existed independently with their own rules and strongly rejected everything not of their world, with very powerful essence and difficult to obtain; the other was the minor worlds, which depended on corresponding major worlds, like the countless minor worlds in Mo Wen's original world, formed by movies, anime, and novels, closely related to the major world, with less rejection of the outside world and weaker essence.

The space they were in now was actually inside Yuanchu's body, and the Yuanchu in front of him was similar to a spirit. According to Yuanchu, she was a divine artifact born from an unknown existence above all worlds, with the ability to grow infinitely. By stealing the essence from other worlds, she could eventually transcend all worlds and stand equal to that unknown existence.

Mo Wen had already destroyed hundreds of planets, obtaining a significant amount of essence from the major world, allowing Yuanchu to exert considerable power. Since Yuanchu herself could not produce essence, she had to rely on plundering, making the essence of major worlds extremely precious and not to be wasted, at least until she grew strong enough to take the essence of major worlds.

Seeing Mo Wen nod in understanding, Yuanchu was pleased. As an entity that was essentially one with Mo Wen, she could not disobey his orders. If Mo Wen was dissatisfied with the environment and forced her to change it, she would have to comply. It was nice to have a master who understood her.

She cleared her throat and asked, "Master, do you know what we need to do?"

Suddenly taking off her glasses, Yuanchu blinked her big eyes, adopting a curious child's demeanor.

Mo Wen tapped her head, not in a good mood. "I know. It's to help you obtain essence and grow. Tell me, what should I do?"

Yuanchu cried out in pain, then covered her head pitifully. "Master, you're mean, bullying me!"

Finally, under the threat of Mo Wen's fist, she continued, "Yuanchu's power is still very weak. After building the basic body, there's not enough power to shield the essence of major worlds from detection. So we can't enter major worlds, even the one Master was in before. Although that major world has no consciousness, Master's previous actions have already caused rejection. Entering again would be too dangerous, and we would be crushed to death."

"So, for now, we can only go to minor worlds?" Mo Wen stroked his chin.

"That's right, and preferably the minor worlds of the major world Master is from," Yuanchu continued.

"Why? Is there a difference?"

Yuanchu explained, "Master, Yuanchu has two ways to plunder essence. One is to use my own power to break through the world's defenses and directly take the essence, but this method consumes my own power, and the result might be that the essence gained is less than the power consumed, so it's not feasible. The other is to use Master as a coordinate and let my power slowly infiltrate, gradually and secretly taking the essence. This method is the most cost-effective."

"But what does this have to do with which minor world we go to?" Mo Wen was still confused.

"Minor worlds generally depend on major worlds. The minor worlds of the major world Master is from are special, formed by corresponding novels, anime, and games, meaning they have plots. Master can interfere with these plots to accelerate the infiltration of my power, making the process of taking essence faster. Also, since Master is familiar with the plots, Master's safety is greatly increased. I can't act freely because I need to shield the interference of the minor world's essence."

"I see, then it's decided. We'll go to the minor worlds of the major world I'm from," Mo Wen decided, patting his head.

"Okay, Master, good luck, good luck. Plunder more essence, and I'll grow more," Yuanchu, now a passionate cheerleader, said.

Mo Wen, however, looked at Yuanchu with a half-smile. "Yuanchu, did you forget something? You said that after I plundered a certain amount of essence, you could perform some functions of a divine artifact. Why don't you introduce them?"

Yuanchu stuck out her cute tongue. "I forgot. Now I'll introduce the new functions to Master."

"Cough," Yuanchu stood up straight and said, "Because I have taken the essence of the major world Master is from, I now have considerable power. Since we are going to a minor world dependent on this major world, I haven't changed the nature of this part of the essence. Master can now call me—Heroic Spirit Throne."

"Heroic Spirit Throne?" Mo Wen carefully considered the name. "What can it do?"

Yuanchu counted on her fingers. "First, with the Heroic Spirit Throne, Master will automatically become a Heroic Spirit, possessing the body, inherent skills, and Noble Phantasms of a Heroic Spirit. However, note that due to the need to guard against the rejection of some minor worlds, some inherent skills and Noble Phantasms may not be usable. Second, as Master's throne, I can enhance Master's power in minor worlds and, when necessary, act as Master's Noble Phantasm to exert power. When Master interacts with or kills beings in minor worlds, I can analyze their abilities and skills, enhancing Master's inherent skills and corresponding abilities, though this requires the consumption of essence, with more complex abilities requiring more essence. Contacting beings consumes a lot of essence, while killing them consumes less. Third, as the throne of a Heroic Spirit, I can allow Master to form contracts with beings in minor worlds, making them Heroic Spirits and bringing them here. There are three types of contracts: enslavement—usually a forced contract with no other effects; following—where the other party voluntarily follows Master, and Master can borrow the Noble Phantasm of the Heroic Spirit; heart contract—where the other party loves Master wholeheartedly and is willing to do anything for Master, providing Master with some unique feedback."

"With this, Master can have a large harem," the 'loyal' Yuanchu wagged her non-existent tail, trying to take credit.

"Good, that's nice. Now, list my Heroic Spirit attributes," Mo Wen said, satisfied.

"Sure, Master."
