The complaint receiver expressed his dissatisfaction regarding this matter: “There’s a misunderstanding here.”
The waiter smiled politely: “Apologies sir. You can’t disturb others during their meals inside this shop.”
The shorthaired man attempted to lessen the issue: “It’s only a harmless joke between adults. There’s no need to go this far, right?”
Nalun said darkly: “Forcing someone suffering a skin disease to go under the sunlight, you call that a joke? No. This is deliberate harm.”
The shorthaired man: “……”
The waiter smiled politely: “Apologies sir, please cooperate.”
The shorthaired man ignored him. Looking down at the tightly bundled up man in the seat, the shorthaired man gave a slight sneer: “Very good.”
Nalun turned his head towards the waiter and said coldly: “Can you ask this person to leave?”
This one-sided harassment was already very apparent to see. The waiter immediately called the security guards over.
A few seconds later, two big and tall men appeared and grabbed the instigator, each holding an arm. Under a forceful drag, the meticulously dressed man lost his poise and could no longer maintain his smiling face. He loudly questioned.
“Is this your approach to customer service? You are interrupting my date!”
Nalun closed his book, stood up, and spoke with a mocking tone: “Date? Anyone who flirts with others must first examine themselves closely. If they were actually worthy of being considered, things wouldn’t have become so terrible.”
The man smiled viciously: “Perhaps we should progress gradually?”
Under the mask, Nalun’s hidden mouth pressed into a line.
“There’s no progress to be made here.”
The shorthaired man was asked to leave. Perhaps never imagining someone would refuse his flirting so mercilessly, he was both indignant and shocked.
Outside of the shop, the hard-pressed Andrew suddenly felt a heaviness to his back. Someone had bumped into him.
Instead of apologizing, however, the person who bumped into him let lose an explosion of locally accented words with a gloomy face: “@#¥%!”
Andrew: “……”
Instinct told him that these weren’t anything good.
“Since this coffee shop refuses to accept me, then I will wait for you outside the shop, little beauty!”
Andrew: “……” Did he just bump into a criminal act?
The shorthaired man’s extremely loud shout resonated down the street. The people outside stopped their argument and all turned their heads to peek inside the shop.
Although the plated glass didn’t allow them to see anything, Nalun’s face still turned black.
The waiter: “Do I need to call the police?”
Nalun placed the <<Beyond the Stars>> back on the bookshelf and said: “No need. Do you have a backdoor?”
After leaving the coffee shop from the back door, Nalun quietly circled around to the back of the transport vehicle.
Everyone’s attention was all attracted to the argument in the front and the shorthaired man’s roar.
There weren’t many guards remaining inside the vehicle. The container at the center was very eye-catching. Around the air vent, a certain bug’s antennae were currently extending outwards. That desperate waving looked as if it were struggling.
“Who……”
Nalun jumped into the vehicle. Before the other let out a warning, Nalun knocked him out.
Although he couldn’t win against Sirius, ambushing a guard who was busy listening to gossip was still pretty easy.
After getting rid of this one, there were still two guards next to the container who were both vigilantly eyeing the intruder.
Nalun narrowed his eyes. He quickly examined his opponents’ weapons and equipment– only electric batons, not even a handgun.
Guarding a bug really didn’t require too much manpower or resources. Perhaps the bug rescue this time was easier than he had predicted.
Nalun ran over swiftly. Before the opponents counterattacked, he first kicked one of them over and snatched away the electric baton. Then he placed it over the person’s neck and held him hostage: “Open the container and let the thing out.”
The unrestrained guard looked around two glances. Realizing that he was unable to strike back while guaranteeing his partner’s safety, the guard could only silently pull out the key, a hesitant expression in his eyes: “There’s only a bug inside.”
Nalun indicated for him to continue.
A moment later, the container was opened. A dazed looking 8 legged, huge bug poked its head out. Its round shiny eyes spun around in a circle before it slowly crawled outside. Its hesitant and slow crawl made it look like a very shy and bashful, unmarried girl.
Nalun knocked out the hostage in his hands.
The other person instantly had a ‘oh fck you killed the hostage’ expression.
Nalun was calm and indifferent: “What type of baton is this? The likelihood of accidentally pressing the switch is a bit high.”
The guard: “……”
Swiftly getting rid of the last remaining guard, Nalun turned around, reached out and grabbed an antenna. Yanking out the slow dawdling bug, he said curtly: “From now on, be an honest bug.”
Xi Jin made a sniffing gesture, then became excited.
“It’s you! Big beard! It’s really you!” A pair of front claws left the ground and landed on Nalun’s shoulders. The bug’s long tail started wagging nonstop.
Nalun gratefully touched the bug’s head.
Xi Jin said: “You really are a good person!”
What it received in reply was a burst of sharp pain.
“Huh?”
Nalun, who received the good person card, was very clear-headed: “Just a shot of catalyst. Hurry up and change back into a human. Do you want everyone to see a fat bug running around wildly on the streets?”
Xi Jin protested quietly: “I’m not fat. Also I feel like 8 legs can run faster.”
Nalun didn’t really want to debate over how many legs ran the fastest right now. He spoke swiftly: “I will wait for you at where we first met.”
Opening the container and getting rid of the guards, Nalun felt like he had already accomplished all that he could. The rest can only depend on Xi Jin himself. After all, it’s not like Nalun can run carrying it.
Jumping off the vehicle, Nalun returned to the ground. The private car owner following behind the transport vehicle started yelling in shock.
Nalun held up a finger and pressed it to his lips, making a ‘shhh’ gesture. As the private car owner froze in shock, Nalun made a run for it and left the scene.
The car owner: “???”
Half a second later, he saw a huge black bug rolling out of the vehicle. Then, eight legs moving in unison, it vanished from his sight, fast as lightning.
The car owner: “……”
Nalun didn’t dare to slow down. As long as he escaped this street, he had a new set of clothes prepared around the corner. Once he changed his clothes, the likelihood of getting caught in the act would be lowered.
Behind him came a rustling noise. The lighting above his head suddenly dimmed.
Nalun raised his head and saw the black colored stomach of the bug. Eyes shifting downwards, he saw insect legs that blurred and overlapped due to its rapid movements..
“We need to operate separately. Don’t follow me!” Such a huge bug, following behind him. It was practically making him a perfect moving target.
Due to its panicked state, Xi Jin seemed unable to pick a proper direction. Rather than picking randomly, it much preferred following behind someone.
The bug chirped. Unfortunately, Nalun wasn’t touching the antenna right now and was incapable of understanding what it meant.
“There’s a cross section in the front. You go left, I go right, understand?”
The bug waved its antennae, as if understanding.
The man and bug charged wildly on the street. Reality proved that 8 legs was indeed faster than 2 legs.
After running a few more steps, Nalun suddenly realized that something wasn’t right.
Although there usually wasn’t much traffic on this street, it wasn’t so little that there’s only a scarce few cars driving around. This seemed more like…… it has already been cleared?!
Nalun looked ahead. With a careful observation, he could see a darkened patch. This was the color of the 1st Legion’s uniform.
Unknowingly, uniformly dressed Imperial soldiers were already standing in waiting at the intersection with weapons in hand.
