“Miss, why don’t you teach that kid a lesson?”
After a long walk from the Hall of Treasures, the old woman finally spoke. “What a bastard! He is only at the Meridian Establishment Realm after all.”
“I already did.” Su Yan smiled.
The old woman was at first confused, but when she noticed that the girl pointed toward her palm, she laughed. “Haha, he deserves it!”
“He is quite an idiot, but not purely foolish.” Su Yan said thoughtfully.
“He is even older than you, yet still at the Meridian Establishment Realm.” The old woman sneered and said, “He has no talent at all!”
“No, not necessarily.” Su Yan shook her head. “Advancing quickly through realms doesn’t mean everything. I have been noticing the Yu Clan for a while now.”
“There are so many tiny clans like the Yu Clan supplying our Su Clan. What makes it so special?” The old woman was a little surprised.
“Do you know about Lin Zhuyun’s fiance?” Su Yan smiled and asked.
“Is that the kid who just woke up from a coma?” The old woman asked in astonishment.
“That’s right.” Su Yan nodded.
“What!” The old woman became more surprised. “He is the one?
“I bet you haven’t heard about what happened recently in the Dark Moon City.” Su Yan said while walking. “That boy almost got killed by a servant from the Lin Clan, but, after that, he changed.”
The old woman was stunned.”Really?”
“At least that’s what I was told. Who knows if it’s real or not.” Su Yan walked up to Su Yin standing in front of a secluded mansion. “Uncle, have you been to the Yu Clan already?”
Su Yin was waiting for her. He nodded and said, “The leader of the clan seems to have his legs cured, and I can tell that his dropped cultivation is also recovering quickly.”
“I heard that they tried to do so before?”
“Indeed,” Su Yin frowned and said, “He came to our clan to ask for help, but after our alchemists looked over his injuries, they decided that it would cost too much for him to recover.”
“What happened next?” Su Yan asked.
“Then we concluded it was not worth the money, so we told him that his legs are incurable.”
“But now it’s cured, isn’t it?”
“Yes, and that’s the problem. He won’t tell us who cured him. Whoever it is, he must be a talented and experienced alchemist, the kind that is desperately needed by our clan!”
“Also, do you know about the details of what happened recently to the Huang Clan?”
“Yuan Lianyao tried to hide the details and didn’t tell me much. After Lin Hanyu and Lin Zhujun returned to the Lin Clan, they didn’t reveal any valuable information either. All I know is that they haven’t got what they wanted.”
“Ah, this little city seems to be more interesting than we thought. Uncle, I want to stay here a few more days.”
She did not mention a word about her encounter with Yu Yuan.
…
Midnight.
Yu Yuan was in his room by himself, applying medicine and bandage to his injured hand.
The white paper fan was on the table in front of him.
He suddenly thought of An Ziqing.
If the purple-clothed maid was still here, she would be helping him with the bandaging.
“Heh, I was thinking too much. How could a Yin God girl actually be a maid?”
He frowned slightly, staring out the window, and thought, Why was she here? What made her stay here for so long?
A Yin God Realm cultivator in the Divine Blood Sect probably held a high position.
Why would she waste so many years hiding beside me?
“She probably chose to be because I was unconscious most of the time, making it easier for her to hid her identity while staying here.”
“But is she here for things in the Yu Clan or something else in the Dark Moon City?”
“It was her senior brother who arranged the Sacrifice Formation, and she only acted after I revealed her identity to Yuan Lianyao.”
“So, what did she do this whole time?”
Questions about An Ziqing filled his mind.
“Hope that I won’t meet with that Su girl again.”
He turned his attention to the fan. He carefully grabbed it into his hand and inspected it to make sure there were no more traps.
Gradually, a sense of endless sorrow poured into his heart from the words “Extreme Intelligence Can Kill”. He once again thought about his love from the past life.
Yu Yuan gradually lost control of his mind.
The words on the fan seemed to have grown larger along with his increasing sadness.
In the middle of the night, a deep unexplainable sorrow dissipated around the Yu Clan, continuing throughout all the buildings.
The Yu Clan became a land of depression.
Still, in deep thought, Yuan Lianyao woke up in a startle.
With her abilities as a Profound Realm cultivator, she was able to extend her consciousness outside of her body.
Soon, she gave a soft “Huh” and sat up on her bed.
Like a bright shadow in the middle of the night, a figure hopped across the roofs of her city, looking into the distance of the highest point in the city.
“It’s the Yu Clan again.”
She muttered softly.
Closing her eyes, she sensed an overwhelming sadness from the direction of the Yu Clan.
There seemed to be a cloud of white mist covering the Yu Clan.
However, when she opened her eyes, everything seemed to be fine. The environment in the Yu Clan looked just like the surrounding clans.
“That’s kind of weird.”
Almost at the same time as she said that, another person stood in the midair looking at the northern part of the city as well.
She was wearing a pair of wings, which gave her the ability to float in the air and be semi-invisible.
Yuan Lianyao was only able to notice her with the sense of her spirit.
“Heavenly Feathers? Su Yan?”
Stepping on the bright colored lotus flowers, the Mayoress slowly approached the floating figure.
The invisible formation engraved on the wings quietly disappeared, and the girl from the Su Clan emerged under the night sky.
“Nice to see you again, Sister Yuan.”
Su Yan greeted Yuan Lianyao in the air and said, “Do you also have a strange feeling?”
“Yes, from the Yu Clan.” Yuan Lianyao replied.
“I guessed it.” Su Yan hummed. “Today’s moonlight is beautiful. Why don’t we take a quick walk there.”
“Sure.”
