"Hmm... I didn't realize it was already past eight," Kuroki Ryuji stretched and glanced at the clock on the wall.
Kuroki Ryuji's closing time was very consistent. Even though he had been transported to Tokyo, he still closed his bar at ten o'clock every night, neither earlier nor later, which was a relatively relaxed working hour.
Of course, there were also late-night diners in Tokyo, and Kuroki Ryuji was well aware of this. There was a late-night diner near where he lived, and when he was still a student, he would occasionally go there to have some tea-soaked rice and some karaage.
It had to be said that the existence of late-night diners was a great comfort to many office workers who returned home late at night.
"You're that scumbag, aren't you, punk!" Before Kuroki Ryuji could even dry his hands, the door was pushed open, and two people who looked like delinquents walked in.
Kuroki Ryuji looked up. These two guys had hair that stood up like proud roosters, and they were even yellow-haired roosters, which would be a significant discovery in biology.
Kuroki Ryuji sighed. He should have taken back his previous words. After being transported to Japan, the trouble, besides getting used to this unfamiliar society, also included dealing with these worker bees eager to show off in front of the queen bee.
After all, for most people, seeing a lit-up izakaya with a "closed" sign would be enough to keep them from disturbing it, except for some salespeople.
However, this wasn't a universal rule. As everyone knew, drunks and delinquents were not within the realm of normal people, so sometimes Kuroki Ryuji's izakaya would also have some troublesome customers.
Their experiences would often turn into urban legends, further enhancing the power of the yokai.
"Damn, it's you!" The leader of the yellow-haired delinquents glared at Kuroki Ryuji and pulled out a stick from behind, probably from a construction site.
And Kuroki Ryuji wasn't sure if this was a common trait among Japanese delinquents, but he didn't understand why they always spoke with a lisp, which sounded very interesting. At the very least, Kuroki Ryuji couldn't help but laugh.
"What are you laughing at!" Kuroki Ryuji's laughter instantly irritated the yellow-haired delinquent, and his lackey pointed at Kuroki Ryuji's nose, looking like he was ready to cause trouble.
"Sorry, sorry, I was just..." Kuroki Ryuji waved his hand, trying to suppress his laughter.
However, it was clear that Kuroki Ryuji's expression had thoroughly enraged the two delinquents.
"You damn... I'll..." The leader of the yellow-haired delinquents was even more annoyed, tightening his grip on the stick.
With blood rushing to his head and dirty desires in his heart, the young man completely lost control. He planned to teach this boss who had been laughing at them a lesson.
"Do you need help?" But just as he raised the stick, he heard a strange voice from behind.
"Actually, I don't need it. In fact, your arrival has caused me some trouble," Kuroki Ryuji sighed disappointedly. If this person had come, he wouldn't be able to stretch his legs.
"You...!" The yellow-haired delinquent turned around angrily and saw a beautiful woman standing behind him, wearing a mask and dressed in business attire. Her black stockings immediately caught his full attention.
"Bro..." The lackey behind him was already in a daze. This woman was wearing a mask, but her figure was excellent, and her large, expressive eyes sparked endless fantasies.
"Am I beautiful~" The woman's voice was very alluring, making anyone who heard it feel a tingling sensation.
"Of course, you're beautiful~" The yellow-haired delinquent reached out, mesmerized, wanting to touch this woman with expressive eyes.
Kuroki Ryuji shook his head. These delinquents, whose brains were infested with bugs, didn't know what they were facing.
"So, now what~" The woman removed her mask, revealing a mouth that split to her ears.
"I... I..." The yellow-haired delinquent's legs were shaking, and he was completely dumbfounded. Could this woman be the裂口女 (Kuchisake-onna) from the urban legend?
"Am I beautiful~" The Kuchisake-onna opened her mouth, revealing a bloody red tongue and sharp teeth, which looked particularly terrifying. The two delinquents' legs gave out, and they fainted on the spot.
"Ah, so to say, your help might actually cause more trouble, Miss Kuchisake-onna." Kuroki Ryuji sighed. To be honest, he wasn't afraid of these delinquents. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to finish his sophomore year without being bullied.
Perhaps it was a benefit of being transported, Kuroki Ryuji found himself physically stronger and more powerful. However, what left him speechless was that his appearance was average, though pleasant to look at, but not particularly handsome.
Kuroki Ryuji took out a mop. The two delinquents who had tried to stand up for the queen bee were already scared unconscious by Miss Kuchisake-onna, but they had left other things behind. After all, people who wet their pants from fear couldn't stop the force of gravity.
"Sorry, boss, I really caused you some inconvenience." The Kuchisake-onna, with her mask off, smiled and nodded at Kuroki Ryuji, then started browsing her phone.
Coming to eat today was really a pleasant surprise. The emotions she had just absorbed made her very satisfied.
Kuroki Ryuji didn't pay much attention. After all, this wasn't the first time such a thing had happened. The delinquents last time were even more unfortunate. If it weren't for the existence of the Onmyoji Association, those two would probably have ended up in a mental hospital.
"Same as usual today?" Kuroki Ryuji cleaned up quickly, a habit he had developed after being transported, as he had to do various chores for his grandfather after school.
"Sure, I still like curry pork cutlet rice, the sweet version." The Kuchisake-onna tilted her head in thought and gave her answer.
"Got it." Kuroki Ryuji washed the mop. He had already thrown the two delinquents out the back door. Behind his izakaya was a small alley, not exactly deserted in Tokyo, but there were often drunks or overworked office workers who would collapse and sleep on the ground.
Kuroki Ryuji was used to such scenes. Tokyo was a city of lights and alcohol, but in the shadows, the real society existed.
