Chapter 26

On this day after Jian Ci got off from work, he received a call from his team leader saying that the design proposal still needed some amendments. Since there was a backup copy in his laptop and he did not want to return to his office, he worked overtime at home.

Once he sat down, work did not stop until midnight.

Turning off his laptop, Jian Ci stood up and stretched.

As he was too engrossed in work, Jian Ci was unsure if Zhou Bai had returned home. Walking out of his room, he noticed the door of the master bedroom was closed, the living room was pitch-black, and the latter’s shoes were not on the porch.

Seems like Zhou Bai was not home yet; probably another dinner party.

Jian Ci turned on the lights in the living room and wondered if he should prepare supper. Grabbing his towel and pyjamas, he headed to take a shower.

As he was about to walk into the bathroom, the sound of keys unlocking came from the door. Retreating a few steps, he turned towards the sound and said, “You’re back? Do you want to eat…”

Jian Ci paused as he stood rooted to the ground.

A beauty was snuggled up against Zhou Bai as they walked in the door together.

Zhou Bai looked like he drank a little too much. He removed his shoes while talking loudly on the phone, not noticing the boy standing in the house, “Mm, mm, okay, Director Wang, it’s settled then…”

Taking a quick glance at Jian Ci, the beauty wore a mocking expression on her face and let out an ambiguous, “So it’s you.”
