Chapter 53

When Jian Ci woke up the next day, he found himself trapped in an embrace, staring straight at a bite mark he made. What followed was an awkward sense of shame as he recalled what had happened the previous night. However, as he looked at the person right in front of him slowly stir awake and stare back at him, and then looking even more awkward than he was, Jian Ci didn’t feel so bad after all.

It was the weekend, and there was no need for an alarm clock, but they didn’t wake up too late either.

Jian Ci was aching all over, and he really did not want to head out to buy breakfast. Hence, he planned on warming up a cup of milk and having some bread to satisfy his hunger, but after trying for a long time, the microwave did not work. Just as he was about to call the maintenance hotline, Zhou Bai rubbed his nose, and flipped off the switch of the air conditioning at home.

Jian Ci, “…”

Zhou Bai, “…”

Alright, let’s go have some breakfast.

Zhou Bai received a call in the morning, and it was from his father. Father Zhou had a smooth recovery after the surgery, and he was ready to be discharged. Zhou Bai had previously made arrangements with the doctor regarding this, and after acknowledging, he was going to pick his father up in the afternoon.

However, Father Zhou had a request: to visit the couple’s home. His home has yet to be tidied, and he wanted to stay over at their house for a night before returning.

Zhou Bai paused, before agreeing to his request.

He could not refuse his father, and the old man was obviously coming over to observe them.

After ending the call, Zhou Bai looked at Jian Ci, “My dad is coming over.”

Jian Ci nodded as he continued to drink his cup of milk, “Sure, is he staying for dinner? Do we need to prepare anything?”

“He is staying for the night,” Zhou Bai stated.

Jian Ci froze, “So…”

“So, you have to shift all your daily necessities to the master bedroom.”

The pair hurriedly finished their breakfast, and started to shift Jian Ci’s belongings into another room.
