Chapter 7: That Moment

Under the eaves of the small building, the female swordsman quietly accompanied the girl.

She didn’t even glance at what was happening nearby. Her phoenix eyes, which exuded a coldness, either looked tenderly at the young girl beside her or vigilantly at the crowds that might approach. Her right hand never left the hilt of the sword at her waist.

To her, the conflict between a few rural knight apprentices in this remote small town was no different from a few stray dogs fighting on the street. It wasn’t something that someone of her status and experience would be interested in.

However, the young girl beside her had shown an unusual interest. So, she had to stay.

"She's still a child who loves excitement," the female swordsman looked lovingly at the side of the veiled girl's face.

Sunlight shone directly from over 200 meters away, from above the castle, onto the girl's face. Although somewhat hazy, the faintly visible contours under the thin veil and the long lashes that framed a pair of eyes as captivating as stars were enough to make the proudest man in the world bow in submission—she was Princess Airexia, a heavenly child born with the beauty that could topple nations and the supreme nobility.

But alas... the female swordsman's eyes dimmed.

"Susan, sister," the girl's voice, like a heavenly melody, sounded in her ear: "What do you think they will do to him?"

The female swordsman, Susan, was taken aback. It took her a while to follow the girl's gaze and see the "him" the girl was talking about—the big-headed boy with a meek appearance.

This was the first time in nearly ten years of knowing the girl that she had heard her ask about a strange boy.

Was it because he was also named Roy?

Susan turned her head and sized up Andrew, Hake, and Tom one by one, her gaze finally landing on the boy.

"His opponents are two knight apprentices, one at the ninth level of Aura, the other at the sixth. His friend should also be at the sixth level of Aura... He himself has no source energy fluctuations and a very frail body. His combat ability is negligible. If they fight, he and his friend have no chance of winning."

"Is that so..." Airexia looked quietly at the big-headed boy and sighed softly: "If possible, Susan, help him."

Susan nodded. She wasn't surprised by Airexia's request. She knew it wasn't because Airexia had any special fondness for the boy, but simply because he was also named Roy and looked pitiful. It was like treating a wounded bird on the roadside, no reason needed.

Susan turned to look at the few troublesome country bumpkins. Suddenly, her pupils contracted.

Andrew and Hake's arrogant laughter abruptly stopped, and they simultaneously rushed forward with a vicious and默契 manner. Their large fists, like meteors, aimed straight for Tom's face.

As is well known, although Aura only becomes effective after entering the first level and forming a battle ring, practicing Aura itself greatly enhances physical strength and resilience.

Hake's single punch had a power of 500 [strength]. And Andrew, who had reached the ninth level of Aura, had a single punch power of over 1000 [strength]. Just one punch could shatter the skull of a large bull!

When the two simultaneously punched at Tom, the bulging arm muscles almost tore through their sleeves. The sound of the fists breaking the air was like an explosion, sharp and piercing.

A chorus of gasps immediately rose from the crowd. A few passing women screamed and covered their eyes, unable to bear the sight of the bloody scene.

Hearing the whistling of the fists, Roy gritted his teeth. He knew what Andrew intended, but he hadn't expected that these two would be so vicious, aiming to take Tom's life with their first move!

Although he had confidence in Tom's strength, the actions of the opponents still made it hard for him to suppress his anger. Since it was like this... Roy's gaze fell on a stone beside him, and he whistled a few strange whistles.

In the blink of an eye, the fists were right in front of Tom's face. The turbulent wind from the punches had already touched Tom's skin.

In a flash, Tom shifted his feet, dodging the two punches while bending his waist and knees. His body, like a taut bow, suddenly released, shooting forward. In the next second, his punch, like a heavy cannon firing, hit Hake's nose directly.

A dull "thud" sounded. Hake's face, like a watermelon that had burst open, spattered with blood. His robust body flew back two meters and fell to the ground.

The intense pain and dizziness left him unable to do anything but let out a shrill scream, not even having the strength to roll on the ground.

This scene left the squires and attendants on the training ground speechless. No one had expected that Andrew and Hake's sudden attack would be dodged by the usually quiet blacksmith's son. Even more surprising, no one had thought that this boy, who had been rejected by the knights, had not only practiced Aura but also possessed such formidable martial skills.

This punch was not only extremely fast but also extremely fierce. From the posture, it was clearly the [Rush Cannon] that the first knight, Bak, often used in hand-to-hand combat!

But how could a blacksmith's son know this move?

After all, this fist technique, evolved from life-and-death battles on the battlefield, was common but extremely difficult to master. Not to mention Andrew and Hake, even the battle-hardened attendants who followed the knights rarely achieved it.

However... this move seemed to be used somewhat inappropriately.

Although the [Rush Cannon] was powerful, it required the use of the entire body's strength, leaving no room for a follow-up move after the punch.

If Tom was only facing Hake, he would have already won. Unfortunately, he forgot that beside him was Andrew, whose heart was as cold as stone and as vicious as a wolf, and who never cared about his companions!

Hake being punched away, though unexpected by Andrew, presented him with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Such an opportunity, he would not miss!

Sure enough, Andrew, whose punch had missed, did not stop because of the blacksmith's son's surprising performance.

Almost as soon as Hake was flying backward, he took a step forward, twisted his body with a sinister smile, and his fist drew a half-circle in the air, heading for Tom's back of the head.

Although Andrew was arrogant, he was not a fool. This was the right choice at this moment!

"It's the [Whirlwind Chop]!"

Seeing Tom about to be in danger, Susan, who was prepared, stomped her foot, and her body, like a stone thrown into the air, lunged at Andrew.

"Thud," "Thud," "Smack"!

The onlookers were momentarily dazzled and hadn't even had time to react when they saw Andrew being kicked several meters away, landing in the dusty ground, unconscious.

Time seemed to freeze.

People stared dumbfounded at Susan, who had appeared out of nowhere.

And Susan, with wide eyes, stared dumbfounded at Roy.

And Roy, with wide eyes, stared back at her.

Both of their expressions were as if they had seen a ghost.
