"Thank you, Qi." Kate had arrived home, and it really was a convenient route; now, it seemed that Kate's impression of Qi Ping shouldn't be too bad, "If I hadn't met you, I might have been quite troubled."

"I just did what I should have done, it's nothing much," Qi Ping said politely. He couldn't really say, "I am indeed a very good person," or anything like that, "So, goodbye."

Kate's house was on the side of the road, a house that wasn't particularly good but wasn't bad either. Usually, when going to town or to San Diego, he would pass by Kate's house, but it was clear that Qi Ping didn't know that a charming beauty lived in this ordinary-looking house.

"Maybe you can come in for a cup of tea," Kate smiled. She felt she should thank Qi, and also because she had just become familiar with King Kong, who was a very cute guy.

"God, Kate!" A ten-year-old kid who had been idly daydreaming in front of the house was left speechless when he saw his sister carrying a gorilla out of the car, "Is that a gorilla or a monkey? It looks so cute!"

"It's a gorilla, although it's just a baby now. Joshua, this is King Kong, a very smart guy," Kate proudly introduced, and now King Kong seemed like her pet. As for Qi Ping, who followed behind, she gave a brief introduction, "This is Qi, my car broke down, and Qi brought me back."

"Hey, man. King Kong is really cool, can I hold it?" Joshua was clearly completely captivated by King Kong. A cute baby gorilla would grab everyone's attention anywhere.

When I was young, people were willing to help each other, but now, they mostly just take care of themselves."

"Guy, I just did what I should have done," Qi Ping said politely, but what Kate's father said was true. Nowadays, one often feels the coldness of human relationships, no matter where you are. "I'm Qi Ping, you can call me Qi."

"I'm Eric, Eric Lee. This is my wife, Carolyn," Kate's father introduced himself at this point. This guy with messy hair didn't look like a handsome man, but fortunately, Kate looked more like her mother. Otherwise, Eric might have felt some pressure if his daughter looked like him.

"Qi, I'm sorry. Kate is often a bit impolite, and as for Joshua, this guy has already driven me crazy. He's never polite," Carolyn was apologetic because her children seemed very impolite, which wasn't how one should treat guests.

"It's okay, Kate and I are good friends," Qi Ping grinned, which helped to slightly improve their relationship. It seemed he had done well, as Kate smiled in acknowledgment.

At Kate's house, they could sit down and chat a bit. Although Kate's house wasn't luxurious, it was very warm. Kate's family looked very happy, and you could see this from many details, such as photos of Kate and Joshua from childhood to the present, and happy family portraits.

"Kate is probably feeling the pressure now. I know she hasn't been in a good mood lately. She has already graduated and needs to find a job. Otherwise, she will have to return to the farm to help me plant flowers. She loved flowers when she was little, but I don't think she wants to make planting flowers her career," Eric laughed heartily. He was a very outgoing guy and was chatting nicely with Qi Ping.

"Come on, if I stayed to help on the farm, I think you'd be the first to object. You might say I'd be wasting your dollars. I know college tuition is expensive," Kate interjected, unable to accept Eric's constant belittling, especially in front of that lecherous guy, "I know I'm just an ordinary college graduate, but dear dad, I don't think you'd accept me helping on the farm."

"That's true. If you stayed on the farm, I think I'd be the first to break down. Ha ha, you need tens of thousands of dollars in tuition every year. To support your education, I didn't let you work part-time. I just wanted our family's first college graduate to get her degree," Eric was very proud. Actually, going to college in America is not easy. College tuition is very expensive, and many American families can hardly afford it.

The main business of Kate's family was a small farm, and the main crop was flowers. In California, many farms still grow flowers. Kate's family wasn't wealthy, not even middle-class, but they were doing well. At least they weren't short of money, and their life was very fulfilling.

Qi Ping thought this was very nice. He enjoyed chatting with Kate's family, but it seemed that King Kong was even more adapted to life here. It looked very pleased with itself, as if it had arrived at its own home.

"King Kong, behave. We are guests here, this is not our home," Qi Ping found it amusing to see King Kong sitting on the sofa with its legs crossed, eating fruit. He felt a bit pressured because King Kong was being too informal.

"Guy, King Kong likes it this way. We don't need to require or restrict it," Joshua was unhappy. He thought King Kong was very cute, "Look at King Kong, it's so happy. Guy, this is its home."

"Qi, it's okay. I think King Kong will like it here. You can tell it not to be formal, it's already at home," seeing King Kong eating fruit in a lazy manner, Kate's family all felt it was very happy. It seemed that everyone thought King Kong could be a bit more relaxed, as it still seemed to know it was a guest and hadn't shown its home attitude.

Seeing Kate's family looking so expectant, Qi Ping smiled. Well, since King Kong was already acting as if it was at home, Qi Ping didn't mind if it caused more trouble. Actually, King Kong wouldn't become that kind of monster. It was very cute at home, though sometimes it could be quite annoying.
