After finishing his milk, Winnie slowly climbed down from the sofa. He was already very adapted to life at home, and the little guy needed to run around on the lawn by the door. Bears are naturally lively and active, and Winnie was no exception. Watching Winnie chase butterflies and roll around on the lawn, Qi Ping let him play as he pleased, only giving him a good bath in the evening.
"Kate, you’ve seen the many fruit trees and flowers I’ve planted. I remember you like honey. I think we can consider raising some bees; there are some great flowers here." Joshua’s barbecue skills were decent, and while biting into the grilled meat, Qi Ping chatted with Kate.
"Your fruit trees are growing well, but I don’t think we need that many bees yet. Buddy, don’t make things hard for yourself to please your girlfriend. Raising bees isn’t an easy task." Joshua handed a banana to King Kong and then tried to discourage Qi Ping.
"I’ve also planted a lot of strawberries!" Seeing the unhelpful Joshua, Qi Ping gritted his teeth and threatened.
"Alright, I admit we might be able to raise some bees now. It’s not that difficult. Think about it, with flowers and fruit trees, it’s perfect for the bees. They’ll definitely produce the sweetest honey. Actually, Kate often uses honey for beauty, I know that." Joshua changed his stance. A man can be flexible, and for the delicious honey, Joshua didn’t mind changing his views.
Kate laughed, finding it interesting to watch Qi Ping and Joshua ‘battling wits.’ She thought Qi Ping’s ideas were actually quite feasible. Kate was getting to know the forest farm better and better, realizing it was a magical place with great potential.
Kate was also looking forward to the fruit trees. Qi Ping’s decision to plant some fruits was correct, and she thought Qi Ping really knew how to enjoy life; he was a genius!
Many people might think that Qi Ping’s top priority should be making money. He could indeed earn a lot, but he could earn even more. If he lowered his standards and developed the orchards and the area around the house, he would definitely earn more money, no doubt about it, because the environment here was really good.
But Qi Ping didn’t. He kept a large piece of land to improve his quality of life. He planted a large lawn, many fruit trees, and even a vegetable garden, all for his own enjoyment. Even with so many fruit trees, each type wasn’t on a large scale, which meant they had little commercial value.
But Kate agreed with Qi Ping’s current views. Making money was important, but enjoying life was even more important and real. Now, Qi Ping could earn a lot of money, and he didn’t need to be a slave to money. Making money and enjoying life were not contradictory.
Kate believed Qi Ping was a unique person, very capable and outstanding, and a wealthy young man. But Qi Ping didn’t have the bad habits of the rich; he didn’t like all sorts of nonsense. His life was simple, calm, but full of fun.
"Kate, in a few days, you might need to help me take care of these little guys. I need to go back to China for a while. I have some things to handle, but I promise I’ll be back within a week." Qi Ping told Kate, and this was a serious matter. The loan had already been secured, so Qi Ping needed to start working on the development of the forest farm.
"No problem, I’ll take good care of them. But Qi, I hope you can handle those things quickly; you know I can’t take full care of them." Kate agreed, knowing she was the best person to take care of the little guys while Qi Ping was away. "I need the keys; I’m sure they won’t want to leave home."
"I’ll leave the car keys with you too; it might help you." Qi Ping’s words made Kate smile happily. As for Joshua, he looked disdainful, severely disapproving of Qi Ping’s smooth talk.
In the U.S., cars and guns are things you shouldn’t easily lend out unless you’re willing to take full responsibility. Now, Qi Ping seemed to have achieved this, showing his absolute trust in Kate.
Although they had just started dating and both wanted to be together all the time, Qi Ping knew that love was one thing, but the future was long. To develop the forest farm and to be with Kate for a long time, he needed to make some efforts now.
Going back to China wasn’t just to buy some high-quality jade; Qi Ping also needed to visit family and friends. As for the forest farm, he wasn’t worried about it because everything could run smoothly here.
