The moon's shadow sank to the west, and dawn was approaching.
Kakashi woke up the sleeping Obito and the others, preparing to lead Shangshantuo and the others to join the main force.
After Kakashi's team advanced into the city of Daicheng Yishan and eliminated many of the enemy's ambush forces, the Konoha ninja army also rushed forward and quickly reached the foothills of Daicheng Yishan.
Shangshantuo squatted by the river, washed his face with clear water, and tried to refresh himself.
After finishing up, Shangshantuo, Kakashi, Obito, and Rin immediately followed Kakashi's steps and headed towards the direction where the main force was stationed.
Upon arriving at the location of the main force, Shangshantuo looked around and saw that there were about three to four hundred Konoha ninja, not many in number, even fewer than the five hundred from Iwagakure.
But if this surprise attack succeeded, such a disparity in numbers would be sufficient to compensate.
As soon as they arrived at the main force, Kakashi was called away. As one of the commanders of this major battle, he had to attend a meeting.
Not long after, the meeting ended, and Kakashi returned, assigning Shangshantuo, Kakashi, Obito, and Rin to different combat units.
This surprise attack was a large-scale operation, with all the ninja teams reorganized into three battalions to attack the enemy.
Shangshantuo was assigned to the second battalion.
At this moment, a hint of dawn appeared on the horizon.
Dawn had arrived.
It was the perfect time to attack.
With the commander's order, all the Konoha ninja followed the command and launched a fierce attack on the Iwagakure army.
Due to Kakashi's team's previous outstanding achievements, the Iwagakure army had not detected Konoha's intention to attack at all.
It was only when the main force reached the high ground that they hastily responded.
The two armies clashed, and various ninja techniques flew through the sky. Here, there were rolling flames; there, surging waves; here, howling winds; and there, flashing lightning.
In short, the sounds of battle and screams never ceased.
An Iwagakure chunin, after dealing with several Konoha genin, was already exhausted. Just as he was catching his breath, he suddenly heard a commotion nearby. Looking up, he was terrified to see a Konoha teenage ninja in black clothes and black hair, with star-like eyes and sword-like eyebrows, pushing forward with his fists alone, breaking through the encirclement of many Iwagakure ninjas, striking left and right with unmatched bravery, as if sweeping away everything in his path.
It was Shangshantuo!
Bang, bang, bang...
The sounds of impact continued, and the Iwagakure encirclement was directly shattered, with many Iwagakure ninjas flying in all directions.
Some Iwagakure ninjas who were closer to Shangshantuo were even pierced through the chest by his fists, their eyes filled with intense unwillingness and terror as they died.
But Shangshantuo stood like a rock in the center of the encirclement, swinging his fists freely without retreating even a bit.
Even though he had more than a dozen kunai embedded in his body, some in fatal spots, he was still full of energy, showing no signs of fatigue.
The Iwagakure chunin was greatly shaken, thinking, "What kind of monster is this?!"
Clearly young, but his fists seemed to contain boundless strength, capable of creating spider-web-like cracks in the ground with a single punch.
Feeling the tremors from the ground, the Iwagakure chunin's face turned pale, his expression terrified, and the black-clothed figure reflected in his eyes seemed as terrifying as a demon.
He instinctively wanted to flee.
But at that moment, his legs felt as if they were filled with lead, unable to move at all.
Because at that moment...
Shangshantuo suddenly turned his head and fixed his gaze on the Iwagakure chunin.
Bang, bang.
Shangshantuo swung his fists, and powerful force erupted from them, instantly sending the last two Iwagakure ninjas flying. Then he took a step forward, approaching the Iwagakure chunin.
The heavy pressure was like a storm, overwhelming him.
The Iwagakure chunin's legs began to tremble uncontrollably, and he could barely hold his kunai.
When Shangshantuo was almost in front of him, the Iwagakure chunin could no longer hold back. He roared, his eyes bloodshot, and charged forward, driven by instinct, gripping the kunai tightly and thrusting it forward.
Puff.
A muffled sound rang in his ears.
Looking down, he saw that his abdomen had been pierced through by an arm, blood gushing out.
The intense pain and the strong smell of blood made the Iwagakure chunin feel dizzy and disoriented, his vision blurring.
His eyes blurred, and he fell into endless darkness.
The last thing he saw was his kunai, thrusting into empty air.
Shangshantuo pulled his fist out of the Iwagakure chunin's abdomen, wiping the blood-soaked arm on the already dead Iwagakure chunin's body.
Looking at the dead Iwagakure chunin, who had his eyes wide open, unwilling to die, still standing and thrusting his kunai forward, Shangshantuo had no thoughts, just a light push.
The Iwagakure chunin's body fell backward, landing heavily on the ground.
Just as the Iwagakure chunin thrust his kunai at him, Shangshantuo simply dodged to the side, avoiding the attack, and then swung his fist, the powerful force piercing through the Iwagakure chunin's body.
In one move, he killed an enemy chunin.
Shangshantuo secretly thought it was lucky.
If the Iwagakure chunin hadn't been so terrified and lost his fighting will, he wouldn't have been so easy to defeat.
Since the battle began, Shangshantuo had eliminated more than a dozen enemies. Although he was still in good condition, he needed to deal with the kunai embedded in his body.
Otherwise, it would be too shocking if others noticed.
Looking around and seeing that the battle was overwhelmingly in their favor, Shangshantuo sighed in relief, thinking that this surprise attack had been quite effective.
With this in mind, Shangshantuo pulled out the kunai one by one and used the Healing Palm technique to treat himself.
Although there were two fatal wounds, the injuries were not too large, much smaller than those he had sustained when being chased by two Iwagakure ninjas.
Recovery was much faster.
Shangshantuo didn't need to completely heal the wounds; he just needed to make them look less severe to avoid arousing suspicion.
In war, getting injured was normal, as long as it wasn't a fatal wound that wouldn't kill you.
After treating himself, Shangshantuo, still half-injured, continued to charge into the enemy ranks, using his powerful force to knock out one enemy after another.
By the end of the battle, he had single-handedly eliminated nearly thirty enemies.
The battle lasted from dawn to dusk, and the Iwagakure army, which originally numbered five hundred, was reduced to less than a hundred.
The Konoha casualties were only one hundred and thirty.
The Iwagakure army, caught off guard, was at a disadvantage from the start, allowing Konoha to achieve significant results. In the end, the Iwagakure army was overwhelmed, and the remaining soldiers were forced to flee.
The entire city of Daicheng Yishan ultimately fell into Konoha's hands.
