An Ning continued to feed Qin Weihang for more than an hour. From chicken nuggets to red bean pie, every time it was a small and very pocket-sized food. The entire restaurant watched Qin Weihang go back and forth between the counter and his seat. The table with the black motorcycle helmet seemed to be his exclusive seat.

Xiao Zhao squeezed close to An Ning and said mischievously, “Have him sit at the window to help us solicit business while he’s at it!”

An Ning laughed loudly, looked in Qin Weihang’s direction, and saw Qin Weihang also looking at him. He even got up and walked over. Xiao Zhao busily went over to greet other customers. An Ning thought that Qin Weihang didn’t like the red bean pie, but unexpectedly, Qin Weihang glanced at Xiao Zhao next to him, and asked him, “You guys were talking about me?”

An Ning was a little embarrassed, then said, “No, we were just saying that…”

“Saying what?”

“… Saying that you can help us attract customers if you sit in the window seat.”

Qin Weihang smiled after he finished listening, his expression looking much better. He said: “Then I’ll go sit over there.”

An Ning blinked: “You’re really going to sit over there?”

Qin Weihang looked back at the seat next to the window, which happened to be vacant, and said, “It’s no trouble. Don’t blame me if you can’t get people.”

Qin Weihang really picked up the black helmet and used his other hand to carry the backpack, then he moved to the vacant seat by the window. He didn’t know if it really was a sight to behold from the outside, but after that, the restaurant really became more and more crowded, and An Ning and Xiao Zhao were busy again.

After this wave was over, he looked up and saw that Qin Weihang had already gotten up again and went back to sit near the counter. He was drinking a glass of milk and looking up at him.

An Ning smiled wryly at him. Qin Weihang raised his eyebrows and curled his lips. Then, the two of them looked at each other and smiled in the short gap.

Qin Weihang lowered his head to look at his phone again. Xiao Zhao walked to An Ning, smiled and whispered: “Oh~~ I understand now~~”

The befuddled An Ning did not understand what she understood.

It was finally nine o’clock. At this time, KFC was quite quiet. An Ning headed over to the staff room to change his clothes. When he came out, Qin Weihang was still sitting there with his head down and scrolling on his phone. He walked to the other side of Qin Weihang and sat down. Without disturbing him, An Ning just watched with relish as Qin Weihang played with his phone. Qin Weihang suddenly said, “Why are you looking at me?” Then he put down the phone and put it in the pocket of the down vest; raised his head and looked at An Ning.

An Ning smiled and said, “Thank you.” For waiting for me to get off work, and for always going along with whatever I want.

Qin Weihang didn’t say anything. He stood up, put on his backpack, gave the helmet to him, and said, “Let’s go.”

An Ning took the helmet and helped him hold it.

He followed Qin Weihang with the helmet in his arm. Qin Weihang opened the door and An Ning felt a gust of cold wind coming in. It didn’t hit him but went around him from both sides of his body. Qin Weihang’s back can really block the wind for people. Moreover, this kind of service was not limited to girls.

He smiled as he thought this, then asked Qin Weihang: “Are we taking the subway?”

Qin Weihang frowned as he turned back. He looked at An Ning’s arms with a puzzled look: “What are you holding in your hands?”

An Ning made an ‘ah’ sound. Was he stupid? Qin Weihang came here on a motorcycle, but…weren’t they going back together? How can they go together? Was he just coming over to wait for him to get off of work and eat something while he was at it?

An eye-catching black R1 was parked on the side of the road. An Ning wanted to give the helmet to Qin Weihang. Qin Weihang didn’t take it, but said: “That’s for you.” Then he took off the backpack on his shoulders and took out another helmet from inside.

After coming to a realization, An Ning asked in shock, “You’re giving me a lift?!”

Qin Weihang pulled on the zipper of the backpack with a “mhm”. An Ning was still immersed in the shock: “Can this motorcycle carry others?”

“It can if I want it to.” Qin Weihang said, then took another look at him, “Are you gonna wear it or not? If not, then give it back to me.”

He deliberately used a slightly unhappy tone because he was quite sure about certain things, which was why he could tease the person in front of him. As expected, classmate An Ning quickly put on the helmet.

Qin Weihang was very satisfied. He gave the backpack to him and said, “Help me carry this.”

An Ning took it and quickly put it on his back. He watched as the red, white and black helmet strap fell out of Qin Weihang’s hand. He then wore the helmet; it looked as if it was a Japanese brand when worn by Qin Weihang. It was a three-quarter styled helmet. After wearing it, he needed to fasten the strap on the lower jaw. Thus, it was worn in Qin Weihang’s usual racing style.

“Why is my helmet this kind?” An Ning asked.

Qin Weihang said, “Yours is a full helmet. If you don’t hold me tightly and fall, it can protect your jaw.” After speaking, he waited for a while for An Ning’s response, but An Ning didn’t respond. He probably didn’t know what to say, so Qin Weihang just said “Forget it” and put down the face shield. An Ning suddenly snapped out of it and wanted to say “Thank you.” Qin Weihang saw him opening his mouth, so he turned his head and wanted to ask, “What do you want to say to me?” Two people approached each other at the same time—one lowered his head and the other raised his head. An Ning heard the bang sound of their helmets knocking against each other.

Although they were separated by the shield, the sensation of the collision was surprisingly too close. They both saw each other’s eyes, and when they were almost touching each other’s face, the helmet politely knocked them away. The two held their helmets at the same time and looked at each other awkwardly.

A second later, An Ning couldn’t help but smile. Qin Weihang looked at him but did not smile. He turned around and stepped onto the motorcycle.

The back seat of the R1 was very high. An Ning raised his leg to sit on it, then immediately felt that he was being slightly suspended. Qin Weihang squatted forward when he saw him coming up, his hands holding the handlebars. An Ning stared at his protruding back until Qin Weihang turned his head back. He regained his senses and put his hands on Qin Weihang’s waist.

The motorcycle didn’t start immediately. Qin Weihang let go and sat up straight, then directly pulled An Ning’s hands around his waist. An Ning felt Qin Weihang’s hands pressing his own hands under Qin Weihang’s chest. That grave pressure and force was as if he was showing a ‘You better not let go’ attitude. Perhaps the body language was too much, because when Qin Weihang’s hands retracted, An Ning really didn’t dare to let go. His palm was pressed against Qin Weihang’s soft white sweater, and Qin Weihang’s fluffy hood was pressed down by the full helmet. Then he felt the motorcycle shake with a bzzt , and he was immediately pulled forward, his body uncontrollably pressed against Qin Weihang’s back.

The speed of the motorcycle went up quickly, which was very different from the gentle acceleration of other vehicles. At first, An Ning was straining to adapt to this speed, however, after getting on the bridge, he couldn’t handle it anymore. There were a lot of cars on the bridge. Qin Weihang drove the motorcycle, leaving one car after another behind him, the speed getting faster and faster.

An Ning felt that if he goes any faster, then he won’t be able to hold on to Qin Weihang any longer, so he couldn’t help but shout: “Qin Weihang! … Qin Weihang!”

The person he was hugging didn’t respond at all.

He raised his voice and shouted: “Can you slow down?!”

The R1 swooped down the bridge indifferently as he shouted. Instead of slowing down even a little, he overtook a curve up ahead; the motorcycle leaned to one side with a strong burst of strength. When the wind hit, An Ning couldn’t help but hug Qin Weihang tighter. He only experienced this same strong wind and centrifugal force when he went to the playground when he was very young. The feeling at this moment was like a roller coaster, but it was not like it was doing circular motions repeatedly. It was even more like lying on the broad wingspan of an eagle. The eagle would chirp while making an arc around the mountain, but the eagle would never repeat the circular movement.

The wind was too strong, the surrounding traffic was surging, and they were whizzing through the road, so he couldn’t blame Qin Weihang for not hearing his shouts.

The black heavy engine plunged into the bright tunnel, completely changing the scenery in the tunnel at an extreme speed. The flowing light enveloped them like a long flame.

An Ning watched Qin Weihang’s hood flutter in front of his face shield. He seemed to be lying in a tuft of Qin Weihang’s feathers and rushing out of the tunnel of flames. He was no longer nervous anymore, leaning his head on Qin Weihang’s back. After that circle of dancing ‘feathers’, he watched as those rays of light warped and wandered around them quickly. The night revealed a kind of lustrous and dazzling beauty—as if the city melted at Qin Weihang’s speed, leaving only soft dreams surrounding them.

The R1 took them back to campus, stopped downstairs of the lemon-colored dormitory, and everything went back to square one.

After today, An Ning will always think that anyone who sits on this R1 will fall in love with Qin Weihang. Because you don’t need to change your sexuality to be able to understand that this is the kind of attractiveness that is well-accepted by everyone.

He took off the full helmet while taking a deep breath. Qin Weihang also took off his helmet and looked back at him. The streetlight was shining above them, but An Ning felt that it was the moonlight shining on Qin Weihang.

“After going up, I will take a bath and sleep,” Qin Weihang said, “Tomorrow we are going somewhere.”

“Where are we going?” An Ning asked.

Qin Weihang hung his helmet on the handlebars and said, “To climb a mountain.”

His tone was so gentle that An Ning’s heart pounded. He asked, “Is it high?”

“Not high,” Qin Weihang turned around and said, “I have confidence that it will make me climb.”
