Hope everything is fine. Jiang Junming prayed to all the deities he could remember, then continued to absentmindedly read the book on potions.
The next day, everything seemed as if nothing had happened, just as calm as usual. The Wild Herb Shop was located in the slums of the West District of Moonlight City, where chaos was the norm and fights and brawls were common. Even arson and murder could be seen a few times a year.
All the people living here had long been accustomed to the stench of garbage piles and the bloodstains in the sewage pits. Jiang Junming guessed that if it weren't for the neighbor's uncle seeing the heavily injured priest in his priestly robes, he wouldn't have brought him to the Wild Herb Shop to wait for death.
The neighbor's uncle came a few times, peering in. Seeing that the Wild Herb Shop seemed as if nothing had happened, he looked at Jiang Junming with a strange expression, as if asking how the person was doing.
Jiang Junming acted as if nothing had happened, busying himself as usual. Although he saw the neighbor's uncle looking around, he didn't explain much. This matter was over, and Jiang Junming really hoped it was just a dream, a dream that left no trace upon waking.
The day passed quickly. By evening, seeing nothing unusual, Jiang Junming's heart, which had been on edge all day, finally settled. Looking at the table full of delicious food, especially the stewed meat added for his birthday, Jiang Junming felt a lump in his throat.
"Junming has been with the shop for two years," Vincent said, standing up and gesturing for everyone to be quiet as they sat around the table. "He has no family; we are his family. Now we sit together, and in the future, we will always be close."
Vincent looked at Jiang Junming and said softly, "Today is the day Junming was found in the orphanage, and the day he came to our herb shop. Let's consider this day as Junming's birthday."
Hearing such warm words, Jiang Junming's heart trembled. "I've long considered Junming as my own child!" The pharmacist, Stem, stood up, affectionately ruffling Jiang Junming's hair and said loudly.
Since Jiang Junming came to the Wild Herb Shop, every morning Stem would find the simple potion room cleaned and all the herbs neatly arranged, so Stem had always had a good impression of Jiang Junming.
The heartfelt blessings and genuine smiles were so real. The celebration continued until midnight, and after sending everyone off, Jiang Junming felt a bit tired. Lying on the mat, he prepared to return to the six-sided rectangular space to rest and then continue reading.
Lying on the mat, Jiang Junming soon entered a semi-dream state and then appeared in the six-sided rectangular space.
It seemed different from usual. As soon as Jiang Junming appeared, the entire six-sided rectangular space seemed to come to life like a machine starting up. A series of data, whether readable or not, appeared, slid down, and disappeared on the transparent walls.
The usual six-sided rectangular space was like a clean room, soft and comfortable. This time, however, it was different. The space became "harder," as if it had come to life. It was as if countless computers were performing calculations, and the faint hum of electricity and the slight noise of the machine starting up had a rhythm that made Jiang Junming feel less bored and even somewhat pleasant.
Massive amounts of data were changing around Jiang Junming, above and below, in front and behind, and to the left and right. The six faces of the rectangular space were like six screens, with various characters appearing and disappearing at a speed too fast to read.
What's going on? Jiang Junming looked around, feeling a bit dizzy. For so many years, the light brain had always been the same, and suddenly changing like this, Jiang Junming didn't know where to put his hands and feet.
A few seconds later, all the data disappeared simultaneously, and the entire room returned to its original calm. It looked unchanged, but Jiang Junming felt that the six-sided rectangular space had become "livelier."
At this moment, a monotonous mechanical voice said, "Hibernate state ended, reboot complete."
Huh? A machine? A computer, and it rebooted? How can there be a voice prompt? Jiang Junming thought in surprise.
"Who are you?" Jiang Junming asked tentatively.
"Explorer 9527, from a Level 10 civilization's light brain." The mechanical voice was cold and emotionless. Fortunately, it understood his words, and Jiang Junming felt relieved. If the so-called Explorer 9527 spoke a language he couldn't understand, making communication impossible, that would be terrible.
"How did you 'wake up'?" Jiang Junming asked carefully.
"Spiritual energy only reaches the minimum activation requirement after you turn twelve, so the activation began on your twelfth birthday. Now it's in the most energy-efficient basic mode." The mechanical voice said coldly.
Simple words, but carrying a massive amount of information, Jiang Junming struggled to digest the information conveyed by the mechanical voice.
"Can you explain in more detail?" Jiang Junming asked. The rectangular space, which had become a part of his life, suddenly turned into a "person" that could speak and communicate, making Jiang Junming feel a bit dazed.
"I come from the home planet, a Level 10 civilization, highly advanced. Countless explorers like me traverse the depths of the universe, collecting information and knowledge and transmitting it back to the home planet. During flight, I encountered a space-time vortex, and the body suffered irreversible damage. I activated the emergency program and arrived on your planet, meeting you. Due to energy depletion and severe damage during space-time travel, I could only reside in your body."
"What level of civilization is this?" Jiang Junming asked.
"Level 1 civilization." The light brain said.
The gap between a Level 10 civilization and a Level 1 civilization must be significant.
A space explorer from a Level 10 civilization must have advanced technology to deal with countless crises in the universe, discover traces of other civilizations, and transmit useful information back. This is easy to imagine.
Countless images flashed through his mind, suppressing his excitement, Jiang Junming's voice trembled as he asked, "What can you do?"
"To you, from a Level 1 or Level 2 civilization, I am omnipotent." The voice remained cold, but to Jiang Junming, it sounded like the most beautiful melody in the world, making him incredibly excited.
Omnipotent, what does that mean? He could live better in this world, or perhaps the space explorer could send him back to the original Earth, back to school, back to the playground. All the experiences of the past decade could be just a nightmare, and now this nightmare was finally ending.
Jiang Junming's heart pounded in his throat, and even the mechanical voice of the light brain seemed to carry a sense of pride and self-respect.
