Chapter 9

With a muffled groan, the scar-faced man fell to the ground, convulsing uncontrollably, unable to even scream, only making choking sounds as he rolled in pain on the ground. After landing the successful blow, Jiang Junming did not hesitate. He stepped forward, kicked with his back leg, and struck the knee joint of the second thug’s left leg. The man was just exerting all his strength, swinging a dagger at Jiang Junming. Suddenly, his left knee joint was hit hard, losing its support, and he stumbled. At this moment, Jiang Junming’s elbow struck the man’s chest and abdomen, right at the diaphragm.

Jiang Junming’s speed was not particularly fast. Although his body had been strengthened after entering the optical brain last night, he was still a twelve-year-old child. His basic agility and strength were low, and even with the increase, it was not much. However, every move Jiang Junming made in the fight was full of rhythm, as if he and the two thugs had practiced many times. The changes in the thugs’ movements after being hit all seemed to be in sync with Jiang Junming’s next move.

The shop assistants inside and the onlookers outside only saw a blur. Some keen-eyed people noticed a bit, while others felt that in the blink of an eye, the two thugs were already on the ground.

What exactly happened? Some saw the scar-faced man trying to use his head to "hit" the young boy in the shop, only to be knocked to the ground. The second man seemed to have lost his balance, slipped, and was directly hit, leaving him gasping for breath.

Only Jiang Junming knew that he first punched the scar-faced man in the stomach, causing his stomach to spasm and bend over. At that moment, Jiang Junming used his knee to hit the man’s chin. The contents of the scar-faced man’s stomach hadn’t even been vomited out when they were pushed back into his trachea, choking him. The second man’s left knee was kicked, making it weak, and as he fell to the side, Jiang Junming hit his diaphragm, the most vulnerable spot. Unable to catch his breath, his face turned blue and purple.

As the two thugs were injured and fell to the ground, the light points on their bodies flickered more intensely. At this moment, Jiang Junming felt he could kill them at any time. He looked at the two thugs excitedly, not even he had expected that after the optical brain received the mental energy, it would "awaken" and bring about such a significant change. This change was comprehensive, not only learning basic anatomy in the six-sided rectangular space of the optical brain, but also greatly improving his agility and strength.

“What happened just now? I felt my eyes blur, and suddenly these two people were on the ground,” the onlookers at the door whispered.

“I didn’t see clearly either. It seemed like those two guys were stunned.”

“But that young boy’s speed was really fast. I wonder how strong he is.”

“Strange, Junming from the Wild Herb Shop couldn’t even beat Philip, who is a year younger and lives in the back alley. What happened today? How could he take down two big men?”

“Don’t talk, be careful those thugs come to your house at night to cause trouble.”

The shop assistants, though they didn’t see clearly how Jiang Junming managed to hit the vital spots of the two thugs, saw them clearly fall to the ground. All the assistants were invigorated.

Jiang Junming also didn’t expect to hit the vital spots of the two thugs, who looked like fierce demons, without making a sound. He could kill them at any time. This result made Jiang Junming pause, recalling his actions, as if it were a dream. Although he had learned anatomy from the optical brain, he was still a small, weak child. If not for the precise hits to the vital spots, even more punches and kicks wouldn’t have injured the two big men.

The two thugs, after catching their breath, wanted to fight back but were too weak and had to flee in disgrace.

Seeing the two thugs run away in a panic, the shop assistants cheered. Some took out medicine and bandages to help the older assistant treat his wounds, while others gathered around Jiang Junming, asking questions. Jiang Junming couldn’t explain everything clearly, just mumbling in response.

“Everyone, clean up the shop, put away the valuable medicines, and be careful those two guys come back for revenge.” The older assistant, with a bandage on his head, said to the others with a bitter face.

The older assistant’s words were like a bucket of cold water, bringing all the assistants back to reality. Yes, those two thugs had backing. After such a big loss, the forces behind them would definitely seek revenge. Thinking about this, all the assistants looked at each other worriedly, not knowing what to do.

Let’s hope Vincent comes back soon. Some things still need the boss to decide. In fact, Vincent didn’t have a good solution either; he could only spend money to resolve the issue.

While cleaning the shop, the assistants kept looking outside, afraid of seeing a group of thugs rushing over.

By noon, everyone finally saw Vincent return. Just as he put down the herbs he had bought, Jiang Junming hadn’t had time to tell Vincent what happened in the morning when he heard a commotion outside. Over ten thugs, some with wooden clubs, others with daggers, were shouting and heading straight for the Wild Herb Shop.

“What’s going on?” Vincent asked. Why were so many thugs targeting his shop? Vincent was shocked. Could something have happened while he was away?

Jiang Junming’s face was pale. The group of thugs approaching him seemed to be flickering with countless light points. However, no matter how well he could identify their weaknesses, he couldn’t handle so many of them. Could he take down so many people?

The Wild Herb Shop would be smashed to pieces, and the assistants who had celebrated his birthday last night would be left without a livelihood. Vincent, who had been kind to him, might even be killed by the thugs for being seen as the instigator... Thinking about this, a fire burned in Jiang Junming’s heart.

“Earlier, they came to collect protection money and smashed the energy-boosting potion. I beat them up.” Jiang Junming briefly explained what happened in the morning, then stepped forward, facing the group of thugs, and said, “It was all me, it has nothing to do with the shop.”

Seeing Jiang Junming’s thin back, Vincent pulled him back, forcing a bitter smile, and said, “Let me go.”

Vincent had dealt with the thugs in the neighborhood countless times. Running a small shop here, the hardest part was dealing with these greedy, money-hungry thugs who came to collect protection fees every few days.
