In the bustling Xiao Fei Yang restaurant, Zhang Yang, feeling dizzy from drinking, grinned and boasted, "You guys didn't see that girl just now. Damn, she was so beautiful, with that face and that big butt. According to my old lady, she can definitely give birth to a boy!"

The few people at the table all smiled, their faces showing a knowing, ambiguous expression that all men understood.

Zhang Yang, feeling proud, continued to boast for a while. Feeling a bit parched, he picked up his beer glass, intending to take a few sips to soothe his throat. At that moment, someone patted his shoulder.

Zhang Yang turned his head and looked over, irritably saying, "Who is it? Can't you see I'm drinking!"

Then, Zhang Yang saw an incredibly alluring beer bottle coming straight for his head. If he hadn't been drunk, he could have easily dodged it and even retaliated with a punch.

Unfortunately, that was when he was sober. So, in a daze, Zhang Yang was hit on the head by the beer bottle.

With a "bang," the noisy restaurant hall immediately became eerily quiet.

Blood and beer trickled down Zhang Yang's face.

Zhang Yang wiped the beer from his face, saw the blood on his palm, and gave an ugly smile. Then he lunged at the person who attacked him.

At this moment, the reasons and justifications didn't matter. Someone hit me, so I have to hit back.

This was the belief that had been instilled in Zhang Yang from a young age.

The hotel then became a chaotic mess, with a group of people fighting.

Zhang Yang had drunk too much and didn't have many clear memories. He vaguely remembered grabbing the person who hit him, slamming him to the ground, and relentlessly punching his face. He completely ignored the others who were hitting him.

Zhang Yang had a principle: even if you can't beat someone, you have to bite them until they bleed! It doesn't matter if there are many people; I just need to beat one person to the ground, and I won't have lost.

Zhang Yang's last memory before losing consciousness was another beer bottle hitting his head, after which he completely passed out.

When Zhang Yang woke up, he felt an intense headache. He couldn't pinpoint exactly where it hurt, but when he touched his bandaged head, the pain made him cry out, "Ouch!"

"Damn, which bastard cracked my head open?" Zhang Yang cursed.

"Shut up, keep it down!" a voice from outside the room shouted.

Zhang Yang then noticed that he wasn't in the hospital as he had expected, but in a completely unfamiliar place.

He stood up and looked around.

It was a small, enclosed room, about ten square meters, with a few beds against the wall. A few people were lying on the beds sparsely. The front of the room had no wall, only iron bars. The person who told him to keep it down was a police officer standing outside the bars.

Zhang Yang was lying on the bed closest to the outside. The sudden change in environment and the presence of a police officer made him have an uneasy feeling.

"Where am I?" Zhang Yang asked nervously.

Oh no, did I get hit by a beer bottle and end up in another world? If I'm injured, shouldn't I be in the hospital?

This doesn't look like a hospital! The person next to Zhang Yang's bed was a middle-aged man in his forties. Seeing Zhang Yang's confused expression, he shook his head and sat down on Zhang Yang's bed.

"Kid, keep it down, or the guard will scold you again!" the middle-aged man said comfortingly.

Zhang Yang had never faced such a situation before. The most terrifying thing for him, a frequent novel reader, was the thought of being in another world. Others who traveled through time either went back to ancient times to wield power or became idols in a different world. Where was he? Why was there a guard?

"Uncle, where is this place?" Zhang Yang asked in a low voice.

The middle-aged man was pleased by the respectful address. Nowadays, not many young people knew how to respect their elders. He said, "Kid, this is a detention center. You might not remember clearly, but you were probably detained for fighting."

Zhang Yang tried to recall, and the images from the night before resurfaced in his mind. However, in his drunken state, he only remembered being hit by two beer bottles.

After hearing Zhang Yang's account, the middle-aged man smiled and said, "Kid, don't worry! You were probably detained for fighting. According to the Public Security Administration Punishment Regulations, it's usually a ten to fifteen-day detention."

"Detention?" Zhang Yang stood up in disbelief. What a joke, he was hit, and now he was being detained.

The police officer outside glared at him and shouted, "What are you doing? Sit down, sit down!"

The middle-aged man pulled Zhang Yang down, saying, "Keep it down. When you're under someone's roof, you have to bow your head. Why provoke them?"

Zhang Yang couldn't suppress his anger and said, "I was hit, why am I being detained?"

The middle-aged man shook his head with a bitter smile and said, "I'm not sure! Maybe the person who hit you was also detained, but you're not in the same place. Or maybe they reported it first and pinned the blame on you. You said you were drunk and unconscious, so you couldn't argue. Also—"

The middle-aged man hesitated and stopped.

Zhang Yang pressed, "Uncle, what else? Tell me!"

Zhang Yang wanted to know why he was detained. He couldn't accept the current reality. It was just a fight, and the other person hit him first. How could he be detained?

This was even harder to accept than being in another world.

"Kid, the person who hit you might be someone important. They're deliberately framing you. After hitting you, they had you detained for half a month. Think about who you might have offended," the middle-aged man, with more experience, enlightened Zhang Yang.

Who did I offend?

Zhang Yang slowly sat down.

It couldn't be. He hadn't been in the city for long, working as a delivery person at a logistics company. He hadn't offended anyone. He and a few colleagues had gone to a nice-looking hotpot restaurant for dinner, and he hadn't done anything out of line during the meal.

After thinking for a long time, Zhang Yang gave up. He really couldn't think of anyone he had offended.

"Damn, if I find out, I won't let you off!" Zhang Yang swore to himself.

Seeing Zhang Yang's helpless expression, the middle-aged man said, "Kid, don't think too much. It's just a few days, and it will be over soon!"

Zhang Yang nodded and replied, "Uncle, I understand, thank you!"

But inside, he was seething with anger. He had been hit by two beer bottles for no reason and was now in a detention center. This wouldn't be left unresolved. When he got out, he would settle scores and take revenge.

Thinking about the detention center, he sighed in relief. Fortunately, this was in a different city. If it had been in his hometown, his parents would have given him a beating.

After a lot of chaotic thoughts, Zhang Yang consoled himself. At least he hadn't traveled to another world. This meant he still had a chance for revenge.

Zhang Yang wasn't the type to swallow his losses. If someone hit him, he would retaliate even harder. He couldn't just let this go.

After calming down, his curiosity got the better of him, and he asked, "Uncle, how did you end up here?"

The middle-aged man smiled bitterly and said, "Driving without a license!"

Zhang Yang was surprised and said, "You can be detained for that?"

The middle-aged man sighed and said, "Yeah, I was in a hurry and forgot my driver's license. The traffic police caught me on the spot, and I got a fifteen-day detention."

Zhang Yang asked curiously, "Uncle, you sound like a local. Can't you just find someone to get you out?"

The middle-aged man smiled bitterly and said, "Kid, you're thinking too simply. For people with connections, it's not a big deal, and they might not even need to show up, just a phone call. But for ordinary people like me, it's not that easy. Where can I find the right connections? Even if I did, it would cost a few thousand yuan in bribes, which is not worth it. I might as well stay here for half a month. I'll be released when the time is up, and it's not that long!"

He shook his head in frustration. Young people always think things are simpler than they are. Connections and favors are not for ordinary people like us.

After saying this, he noticed that Zhang Yang was staring blankly at the wall. He thought, "Has this kid's head been damaged? I'd better keep my distance. Better safe than sorry!"

At that moment, Zhang Yang's attention was no longer on the middle-aged man. He was completely dazed, staring at the wall and muttering, "Gods? Demons? Real? Fake?"
