Why was Luo Tai so certain that Wesley would go to Casey? Because there was a scene in the movie that Luo Tai remembered vividly: after Wesley was trained to be a top-notch killer, he and Foggs once returned to Casey's place, and Wesley even took a gun from the bathroom.
If this part of the plot holds true, then Wesley will definitely return to Casey’s place. Now, if Luo Tai goes there, he can wait for him like a rabbit in a trap. At the very least, he can make contact with Wesley. Whether Wesley will listen to him or not is a matter of luck.
After taking two streets and a few subway stops, Barry and Luo Tai arrived at Casey’s residence.
“Knock knock!” Barry knocked on the door. Footsteps were heard from inside, and then the door opened.
“You’re here. Oh... who is he?” Casey asked Barry.
The two walked into the room, and Luo Tai looked around. Casey’s home was not large, with only two rooms. “Hmm, he’s Luo Tai... Wesley’s friend,” Barry said.
“Wesley?” Casey frowned at Barry and then said, “Good heavens, you’re planning to tell Wesley about our business?”
“Whether or not to tell him doesn’t matter; Wesley already knows,” Luo Tai said, walking a few steps around the room and finally stopping by the window to look outside.
Barry and Casey exchanged glances, and Barry said, “Wesley told you?”
Luo Tai glanced at them without responding, then changed the subject, “Casey, has Wesley been here recently?”
Casey shook her head and said, “I don’t know where that guy has gone. He hasn’t been here for a month, and I can’t even get through to him on the phone. Do you know where he is?”
Luo Tai walked to the sofa and plopped down, then looked at Casey and said, “I don’t know where he is, but I know he will definitely come here, so... I want to stay here and wait for him.”
This surprised even Barry. He hadn’t expected Luo Tai to want to stay here. In Western culture, it’s very impolite to stay at someone’s house without invitation, unlike the more hospitable Eastern culture.
“Absolutely not, this is my home, Barry! What’s going on?” Casey shouted at Barry.
Barry quickly said, “Luo, you didn’t tell me you were going to stay here. I don’t think that’s a good idea...”
Casey added, “I want you to leave now. You know...”
She stopped mid-sentence because she saw Luo Tai pull out a stack of dollars from his pocket, count out a few, and then say, “I’m not staying for free. Here’s 500 dollars, for two days’ rent. If Wesley doesn’t come in two days, I’ll pay more!” As he spoke, he raised his hand, the dollars in his hand.
Casey looked at this mysterious Eastern man, thought for a moment, and then snatched the dollars, saying, “Uh... of course, I’m actually quite hospitable, but... my place is small, so you’ll probably have to sleep on the sofa.”
“Deal,” Luo Tai said without even looking at Casey. He stood up and walked into the bathroom.
“Are you going to stay in the same room with him?” Barry looked at Casey, puzzled.
Casey waved the dollars in her hand and smiled, “So what? Besides, he’s not bad-looking.”
“Oh, my God...” Barry pinched his forehead.
Casey laughed and then walked over to hug Barry, saying, “But I still like you.”
Barry wrapped his arms around Casey’s waist and said, “Alright, my little kitty...” As they spoke, they kissed and began to undress without any reservations...
Casey was a typical blonde beauty, fiery and open. She quickly entangled with Barry. “Ah... ah...” As Barry’s hips thrust, Casey moaned.
Luo Tai heard the sounds of their lovemaking from the bathroom and frowned, thinking, “Wesley’s really wearing a solid green hat.”
Relying on his memory of the movie’s details, he skillfully retrieved a black handgun from the toilet tank. Although Luo Tai had never used a gun and hadn’t drawn any gun skills, this didn’t stop him from handling the gun as he had seen in movies and TV.
He first carefully examined the gun’s structure, then safely removed the magazine. Luo Tai, an electrician, knew from long experience that safety was the top priority when disassembling any machine.
The sounds outside the bathroom grew louder, with the word “f**k” mixed in their voices. Finally, with the loudest “f**k,” they quieted down.
Luo Tai estimated it had been about twenty minutes. By then, he had disassembled and reassembled the gun. He engaged the safety, put the gun in his pocket, and walked out of the bathroom.
The two were just getting dressed, and Luo Tai cleared his throat.
“Oh, Luo, you can stay here. I have to go back; I have work tomorrow,” Barry said, kissing Casey again and then leaving.
Casey adjusted her clothes and then asked Luo Tai, “Have you had dinner?”
Luo Tai sat on the sofa and shook his head. He turned on the TV.
Seeing that Luo Tai wasn’t much of a talker, Casey shrugged and said, “I’ll make some dinner.”
“Thanks,” Luo Tai said, watching TV. Casey smiled and walked into the kitchen.
A short while later, Casey brought out dinner, which was just a sandwich and a glass of orange juice. Luo Tai walked over, took the plate, and started eating slowly.
“Are you close to Wesley?” Casey asked, watching Luo Tai eat.
“Not really,” Luo Tai replied.
“What do you need him for?” Casey asked, “I heard Barry say it’s a matter of life and death. I think you should call the police.”
Luo Tai paused, took a sip of orange juice, and then said, “Do you believe in the existence of killers?”
“Killers?” Casey frowned, thought for a moment, and then said, “If we look at the world as a whole, of course they exist, but I feel... it’s far from us.”
“Not far,” Luo Tai said, “Wesley is a killer.”
“What?” Casey’s eyes widened in disbelief, “Impossible, he’s just a small employee at the company. He... he can’t even kill a fly.”
“A few weeks ago, it was as you said, but now he’s completely changed. He’s not only a killer but a top-notch one,” Luo Tai said calmly.
“This...” Casey still couldn’t believe it, but seeing Luo Tai’s serious expression, it didn’t seem like a joke. “How do you know?” she asked.
Luo Tai put the last piece of the sandwich in his mouth, chewed, took another sip of orange juice, and slowly got up, returning to the sofa. He didn’t answer Casey’s question but sat there quietly.
Casey shook her head and said, “Are you... are you a killer too?”
Luo Tai took off his mask and the black glasses, then said, “I’m a man being hunted by killers.”
Casey stood there, mouth agape, unable to speak.
“Knock knock knock...” At that moment, someone knocked on the door...
Luo Tai immediately became alert. Although the door separated them, he could sense the presence of a killer outside...
