The girl looked at Luo Tai, winked at him, and smiled. Luo Tai smiled back. Then he leaned his head against the back of the chair and looked out the window.
Night had already fallen. From the airplane, the view outside was like being inside a vast curtain, dark and dotted with stars, giving a sense of vastness and mystery.
The grandfather and granddaughter next to Luo Tai looked ordinary, but he felt there was something strange about them. He couldn't quite explain why, but they had a certain "aura," the aura of a killer.
"Hmm~" Luo Tai exhaled, pinched his eyebrows, and thought maybe, just maybe, he was too tense and tired from the past two days, causing his sixth sense to be off, making everyone look like a killer?
He silently took a pen from his pocket, laid it flat on the plastic table in front of him, and played with it, passing the time out of boredom.
"Are you American? Or Czech?" the beautiful girl next to him suddenly asked Luo Tai. She might have seen him playing with the pen out of boredom and found it interesting, so she asked casually.
"Why don't you think I'm Chinese?" Luo Tai smiled.
The girl laughed and shrugged. "Oh, Chinese... interesting, I rarely see Chinese people on this flight."
"Is that so?" Luo Tai turned to her and said, "Do you often take this flight?"
"About once every six months," the girl said.
Luo Tai nodded.
"I'm Alice, nice to meet you," the girl said with a smile, extending her hand in a friendly manner. She seemed open and warm.
"Luo Tai," Luo Tai extended his hand and shook hers.
"Is he your grandfather?" Luo Tai asked Alice. At this moment, the flight attendant had already left, and the old man had leaned his head against the back of the chair, eyes closed, seemingly asleep.
"Yes," Alice said, "Our family is Czech immigrants. My grandfather has been in America for a long time, and this time he's visiting his hometown."
Seeing Alice chat naturally and confidently, Luo Tai felt that his earlier feeling must have been wrong. These two didn't look like killers at all.
"What about you? What are you going to Czech for? Tourism?" Alice asked.
Luo Tai nodded and said, "Yes."
"Czech is a beautiful place, worth a visit," Alice said.
Luo Tai smiled but didn't say anything. He put his hand on the plastic table and gently spun the pen... Suddenly, his mind flashed. When he shook hands with Alice just now, although it was very brief, he could still feel that her hand was very strong, and the part of her index finger was particularly hard! Usually, a hard index finger is the result of long-term use. Who uses their index finger for a long time?
Someone who pulls a trigger!!!
The training of the Flying Dagger and his experiences in the movie world made Luo Tai very sensitive to many things, even the slightest detail didn't escape his notice.
To be honest, if it were an ordinary person, they wouldn't associate the grandfather and granddaughter with killers. But Luo Tai was clearly not an ordinary person anymore.
He continued to calmly spin the pen, but his mind was racing. If these two were killers, then Sloan was truly terrifying. Honestly, his trip to Czech was very sudden, and he bought the ticket halfway through. Was Sloan a worm in his stomach? Not only did he send killers so accurately, but they were also sitting right next to him. Did he watch him buy the ticket? That's too exaggerated!!
If that were true, he wouldn't have been safe in the hotel last night. Why would Sloan wait until he was on the plane instead of acting when he was sleeping in the hotel?
This was very illogical and didn't fit the usual style of the Brotherhood. Luo Tai leaned his head against the back of the chair, slightly closing his eyes. After analyzing it, he slowly dismissed his earlier thoughts.
These two were not sent by Sloan.
But what was that feeling he had?
Time passed slowly, and the flight was boring and tedious. Normally, if someone had a beautiful girl like Alice sitting next to them, they would chat a lot. It would at least alleviate the boredom of the journey, and who knows, they might even stay in touch after the flight, maybe even become "friends with benefits."
However, Luo Tai didn't say much to Alice. Alice might have noticed that Luo Tai wasn't much of a talker, so she put her headphones back on, leaned against the chair, and listened to music, taking a nap.
During this time, the passengers had the dinner provided by the plane. Then they chatted, read magazines, or listened to music, passing the boring time.
By late night, the cabin was quiet, and many passengers had fallen asleep. The flight attendants dimmed the lights, and everything looked peaceful and harmonious.
After midnight, Alice's grandfather suddenly started coughing violently. Alice quickly got up and helped him pat his back. However, his coughing became worse, gradually drawing the attention of other passengers.
Alice quickly got up, walked through the cabin, and found a flight attendant. The flight attendant who had been with the old man since the plane took off hurriedly talked to him for a moment, then helped him up and slowly walked him into the crew rest area, where there might be a flight doctor.
Luo Tai naturally woke up. He looked at the empty seat next to him, frowning. He put the pen in his sleeve, then stood up and walked to the restroom at the back of the cabin.
After entering the restroom, Luo Tai locked the door. He washed his face and stared at himself in the mirror, thinking of many possibilities, even considering a hijacking.
If it were a hijacking, that would be troublesome. It would mean encountering terrorists. In the air, if something like 9/11 happened, even if he had three heads and six arms, he wouldn't be able to escape.
It shouldn't be... Luo Tai shook his head. The U.S. might be lax in other areas, but they were extremely meticulous about flight security. After some wild thoughts, Luo Tai left the restroom.
When he returned, he found the cabin still quiet, but the seats of the grandfather and granddaughter were still empty. Luo Tai curiously looked at the crew rest area not far away.
Then he slowly walked over...
The crew rest area wasn't very large, just a place for flight attendants and maintenance staff to rest. A sign on the door read, "No entry for non-crew members."
Luo Tai listened carefully, but heard nothing. Just as he was about to turn and leave, the door opened, and a black flight attendant stood at the door. Seeing Luo Tai, she asked, "Is there anything I can help you with, sir?"
"Oh... um... Where did Alice and her grandfather go? I just saw her grandfather looking sick," Luo Tai gestured as he spoke.
The black flight attendant nodded and said, "The medical room is up ahead."
"Okay," Luo Tai nodded, "We're on the same flight, I want to see how her grandfather is doing."
The black flight attendant smiled and said, "Go straight, the left door is the medical room."
Luo Tai thanked her and walked straight to the medical room. After a moment of thought, he gently knocked on the door. After a long time, a plump middle-aged man came out, rubbing his sleepy eyes and said, "Is there anything I can help you with, sir?"
Luo Tai looked inside the medical room and saw no one, so he asked, puzzled, "My friend's grandfather is sick, didn't he come here?"
The fat man shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, no one has been here."
Luo Tai shrugged and said, "Is there another place on the plane where people can get medical help?"
The fat man shook his head and said, "No, are you sure your friend came here?"
Luo Tai, puzzled, said, "Just now, her grandfather was coughing very badly."
"I'm not sure," the fat man said.
"What's up ahead?" Luo Tai pointed to the front of the cabin.
"That's the first-class cabin," the fat man said.
Luo Tai looked ahead and said to the fat man, "Sorry to bother you."
"No problem, don't worry about it," the fat man said, then turned and went back into the medical room, closing the door.
Luo Tai hesitated for a moment, then slowly walked through the dimly lit cabin toward the first-class cabin...
