Leaving Casey's house, Luo Tai felt extremely tired. He had had a tough day, having taken out four assassins from the Assassin's Guild in one go. Logically, those who were after him should have taken a break, but Luo Tai did not dare to let his guard down for a moment. He hailed a taxi and started circling around New York City, switching to several other taxis along the way, and finally found a nondescript hotel to stay in.
Entering the hotel room, Luo Tai took a small knife and took a shower in the bathroom. He then put on his clothes, took the mattress from the bed and placed it on the floor, and fell asleep on the floor fully dressed.
Nothing happened that night...
The next morning, sunlight streamed into the room, and Luo Tai woke up from his sleep. After having breakfast, he began to think. In the current situation, there was no way he could gain Wesley's trust. Fogg's influence on Wesley was deep, and Fogg was so loyal to Sloan that without ironclad evidence, no one would believe his words.
In this situation, only by making Wesley truly "suffer a loss" could he make Wesley realize the truth. So, instead of trying hard to persuade Wesley, it would be better to follow the plot. Although Sloan wanted to kill him, the key was that he had to kill "The Cross." Therefore, he would definitely send Wesley to Europe to do the job.
In that case, why not go to Europe himself? First, the Brotherhood of Assassins did not have as much influence in Europe as they did in New York. Second, he could gain Wesley's trust by saving him later.
Thinking this, Luo Tai stood up, took a deep breath, and after a day of experiences, he finally found his goal. In the movie, there is a place in Europe called Eastern Moravia, which is in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. There is a monastery there, and a priest named Pekovski, who is a friend of "The Cross," helps him pass messages and even makes some special bullets for him.
Wesley would definitely go to Eastern Moravia. So, he needed to get there first.
However, there was one problem: did he have a passport? If not, how could he board a plane? If he didn't take a plane, would he swim to Europe?
This was a headache for Luo Tai, but then he thought, he had an identity in this world, otherwise, the Assassin's Guild wouldn't be chasing him every day. He had drawn an identity.
With a trial attitude, he went to the hotel's front desk and asked the female manager, "Excuse me, can I buy a plane ticket to Eastern Moravia?"
Luo Tai frowned as he looked at the manager. The manager smiled and began checking the computer. After a moment, she looked up at Luo Tai and said, "There are flights to the Czech Republic. Would you like to book one?"
"Uh, yes," Luo Tai nodded.
"We need your passport," the manager smiled.
Luo Tai shook his head and said, "I'm very sorry, but I lost my passport and all my identification."
"That's a problem," the manager shrugged. "You should go to the police station to report it and then apply for a replacement from the immigration office. Are you a U.S. citizen?"
Luo Tai hesitated and said, "Uh... cough... yes."
"Do you remember your green card number and passport number?" the manager asked.
Luo Tai shook his head.
The female manager said helplessly, "Then you should go to the police station to report it and apply for a replacement from the immigration office."
"How long does it usually take?" Luo Tai asked.
"What?"
"I mean, how long will it take to get everything replaced?" Luo Tai asked.
"Oh, I can't say for sure. It could take a few weeks, or it might take three months," the female manager said.
"Without these, can I go anywhere?" Luo Tai continued to ask.
"No," the female manager said firmly.
Luo Tai's heart sank. He muttered to himself, "Damn, the efficiency of the U.S. is really low. How can I go to Europe at all..."
Luo Tai shrugged helplessly, smiled at the female manager, and then turned to check out of the hotel. As he walked out, he felt increasingly frustrated. The watch had given him this identity with no proof, and he was just being chased. The 200 points of merit were really unjustly deducted!
Thinking about it, he lifted his wrist and tapped the watch a few times. Suddenly, he noticed a small red dot in the upper right corner of the watch, like an unread message. Luo Tai instinctively tapped it, and the small red dot enlarged, and the watch displayed a line of text: "You have drawn an identity. Please press the button to receive your identity documents."
"Damn!" Luo Tai was delighted. He thought, after drawing, he had been so focused on the plot and avoiding the chase that he had forgotten to collect something. This must be the passport and green card.
He directly clicked to receive it. After clicking, he felt a slight weight in his pocket. He reached in and pulled out a set of identity documents: passport, green card, social security card...
Luo Tai gave a thumbs-up to the sky and muttered to himself, "Old Immortal, you are indeed awesome!" After that, he immediately turned back to the hotel lobby.
"I can buy a plane ticket now," Luo Tai smiled as he returned to the manager.
"What?" the female manager was surprised.
Luo Tai handed her his passport and said, "I found it."
The female manager smiled and shrugged. She opened the passport and began booking a flight to Eastern Moravia for Luo Tai.
"The flight is at 6 PM, direct to the Czech Republic. You can pick up your ticket at the airport," the female manager returned the passport to Luo Tai.
"Thank you," Luo Tai took the passport, paid, and left the hotel.
Luo Tai wandered around New York City for the rest of the day. Around 4:30 PM, he arrived at the airport. He first went to the ticket counter to collect his ticket and then disposed of the small knife he was carrying. Knives were not allowed on planes, so Luo Tai had to reluctantly get rid of it.
However, he bought a few pens to carry with him. With Luo Tai's strength, a pen could be used as a throwing knife in a critical moment. Even if an assassin got on the plane, they couldn't bring a gun. After 9/11, airport security in the U.S. was very strict, and this applied equally to everyone.
Luo Tai quickly passed through airport security, took his passport and ticket, and boarded the plane. He had decided to buy several throwing knives as soon as he arrived in Eastern Moravia.
Luo Tai was in the economy class, sitting in a window seat. He had no luggage, so he was very light. According to the ticket information, he found his seat, and when he arrived, the seat next to him was still empty. Luo Tai sat down and closed his eyes for a nap.
As the departure time approached, passengers began boarding the plane. The flight attendants politely greeted each passenger.
A tall, fair-skinned beauty approached Luo Tai's seat. She was wearing a light blue dress, carrying a shoulder bag, and chewing gum. She put her bag in the overhead compartment. Behind her was an elderly man with thin silver hair and a pair of reading glasses.
"Grandpa, you sit in the middle," the tall girl pointed to the middle seat and said to the old man.
The old man shook his head and replied, "I prefer to sit by the aisle."
The girl stuck out her tongue, then sat down next to Luo Tai, while the old man took the aisle seat.
Shortly after sitting down, the girl glanced at Luo Tai, then took out a portable music player and put the earphones in her ears. Within a couple of minutes, she was gently nodding her head, presumably to some lively music.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts, the plane is about to take off..." As the flight attendant's pleasant voice sounded, the plane began to taxi down the runway.
This was Luo Tai's first time on a plane, and he never thought his "first time" would be in a movie. Soon, the plane roared and soared into the sky.
Shortly after takeoff, a beautiful flight attendant walked to Luo Tai's row and leaned down to whisper something to the old man. Luo Tai couldn't hear what they were saying, but he noticed the flight attendant's serious expression and frequent nods. Luo Tai subconsciously glanced at the two people next to him.
Unexpectedly, when his gaze fell on the girl, she had already taken off her earphones and was looking at him...
