Wu Di subconsciously clutched his stomach; it felt as if a thief had pierced his abdomen with the Spear of Longinus. Yes, it was the Holy Spear of Longinus, and memories flooded his mind like a tidal wave.

He remembered visiting a museum with his girlfriend and then being stabbed by a thief who had stolen the Spear of Longinus.

How innocent he was! Wu Di's body stiffened, and he suddenly sat up in bed, shouting, "I won't let you off even if I become a ghost!"

Before Wu Di could regain his composure and take in his surroundings, he heard a soft exclamation, "Ouch." Just waking from a daze, Wu Di rubbed his forehead, which still throbbed, and asked subconsciously, "Where am I?"

"Ymir, you're finally awake! Oh God, this is really great!" The voice was not his; it was a woman's, soft and sweet, but not his girlfriend's.

He looked up to see a pair of large, watery eyes staring at him anxiously.

It was a young, beautiful girl, sitting cross-legged beside his bed. Wu Di's body relaxed, and he called out subconsciously, "Sis?"

After he spoke, he was stunned. Wu Di was an only child; when had he ever had a sister?

He slowly examined the girl in front of him. The first thing that caught his eye was a pair of very sexy and familiar legs, encased in flesh-colored stockings, with delicate feet peeking out. She was dressed in a black and white urban chic outfit, and she was his sister, Kathleen—Kathleen Longinus.

Wu Di's mind suddenly became chaotic. When he had sat up, he had accidentally bumped heads with Kathleen, who had come to check on him, and the soft exclamation was her cry of pain.

Many memories that were not his own kept flashing through his mind. He asked, somewhat disbelievingly, "Sis, what happened to me?"

Kathleen, not caring about herself, gently rubbed her brother's head and said with tears in her eyes, "When the police found you, you were in the outskirts of New York. The doctors said your heart had stopped, which really scared me. Fortunately, you woke up."

"Ah, is that so?" Wu Di shook his slightly swollen head and looked around, realizing he was indeed in a hospital. However, he was not in the emergency room or a nursing ward but in the morgue.

The morgue was about 80 to 90 square meters, with no windows and the usual antiseptic smell of a hospital. Around him were several bodies that the New York hospital had failed to save or had died of natural causes, awaiting disposal.

It seemed he was one of them. Wu Di touched his nose, realizing he was truly dead. However, he wondered why he had possessed the body of a Westerner. He knew New York was an American city, a major international metropolis.

From the residual memories in his mind, the original owner of this body was named Ymir Fred Longinus. According to Western naming conventions, most people in English-speaking countries have three parts to their name: given name, middle name, and surname.

The given name, as the name suggests, is used by those who follow Christianity. The middle name is usually to honor an ancestor or a respected relative or friend, often with a strong commemorative meaning. The surname is inherited from the father, but it is placed last.

Longinus? This was the same surname as the Spear of Longinus that had killed him. He wondered if this was a descendant of the Longinus who had pierced Jesus Christ.

Wu Di looked at his empty hands, realizing the Spear of Longinus had not come with him in this rebirth. If he was still in his old world, the Spear of Longinus would still be in a Chinese museum or perhaps returned to its original place.

Moreover, the Longinus family did not seem like a thousand-year-old noble family. The entire family had declined to just Ymir and his sister Kathleen, and their parents had passed away when they were very young, leaving no significant memories in Ymir's mind.

Without their parents as the mainstay of the family, Kathleen had to support the household alone. Fortunately, with the help of a well-developed social welfare system and a mysterious annual sum of money, Kathleen managed to support herself and her brother.

However, the combined income was barely enough to feed the two of them, as evidenced by their current address: a cheap apartment building on 54th Street in Manhattan.

If he had no impression of this small place, he could also look at its other name: the infamous Hell's Kitchen.

Officially known as Clinton, it is also commonly called Midtown West, a region on the west side of Manhattan, New York City. It is roughly bounded by 59th Street to the north, 34th Street to the south, Eighth Avenue to the east, and the Hudson River to the west.

Hell's Kitchen was once a notorious slum in Manhattan, primarily inhabited by Irish immigrant laborers. It was known for its poor living conditions, severe ethnic conflicts, and high crime rates, and it was famous for being a breeding ground for many supercriminals and gang leaders.

When Wu Di left the Manhattan Hospital, his expression was not good. No one likes to be gawked at like a chimpanzee in a zoo.

A patient declared dead by medical doctors had come back to life in the morgue, and this news quickly spread throughout the Manhattan Hospital. Everyone wanted to see this miracle boy.

Wu Di knew that if he had not been reborn as Ymir, he might have really died after being pierced by the Spear of Longinus.

However, there was no other choice now. He would have to play the role of Ymir Fred Longinus and see if there was a chance to return to China. Despite the novelty of a new identity and living in a foreign country, it might be an interesting experience.

After all, he was still young and had not fully realized that this had changed his fate. As Ymir, he was no longer Wu Di and could never return to his old life.

However, Wu Di had not thought that much yet. From now on, he was Ymir Fred Longinus. It was a bit confusing, but he was ready to survive with this identity. Alright, from now on, there would be no Wu Di, only Ymir in the world.
