Returning home, the exhausted Kathleen had already gone to rest. Meanwhile, Ymir followed the memory of his body and silently walked to the room that should belong to him. Opening the door, he found a small bedroom. Fortunately, it was clean and even had an en suite bathroom.

Standing by the window, he could see the back streets of Hell's Kitchen. In broad daylight, more than a dozen women in provocative attire were already standing on the street, soliciting customers. In the deeper alleys, occasional screams of agony echoed, probably from some unlucky soul who had been ambushed. It was truly a "good" place for robbery and plunder!

Ymir lay on the bed, somewhat surprised, and after a moment of hesitation, he got up to close the windows facing the street. Perhaps because he had just merged with this body, he didn't even eat dinner and fell asleep as soon as he closed his eyes.

In his sleep, a cold and sinister energy slowly spread from Ymir's body, gradually covering the entire building. A three-dimensional map of the building appeared in Ymir's mind, and everything within the range of the dark energy could be instantly reflected in his innermost thoughts.

The entire building became Ymir's domain, and he was the only king!

As Ymir fell into a deep sleep, everyone in the building began to have nightmares simultaneously. The nightmares were like an endless dark space, swallowing the cheap apartment building in Hell's Kitchen. From every corner of the apartment, it seemed that countless ghosts and spirits were crawling out from the depths of hell. Then, a terrifying mental wave slowly penetrated the minds of everyone in the building, plunging them into a state of despair.

If Ymir had not yet realized his power and thus controlled it, there would likely be no living person left in this now cursed apartment building.

However, the only one unaffected by the supernatural events was Ymir, who emitted the dark energy. He felt nothing out of the ordinary, just as in his previous life, he could sleep soundly until the next morning.

It wasn't until the sun was high in the sky that Ymir yawned and naturally opened his eyes, waking up.

In his sleep last night, he seemed to have had a dream, a dream that was both real and illusory. In the dream, black mist spread from his body, and the powerful energy of resentment and darkness enveloped the entire apartment building.

The apartment building was immersed in dark mist, as if it had experienced countless years in an instant. Everything became old and decayed under the erosion of the dark energy. The pages of newspapers and books in the bedroom turned yellow and then completely turned into black charcoal. The oil paintings on the walls began to bubble, and the walls started to crack and peel off...

The corrosion of the dark energy made the entire building seem as if it had been through a thousand years, with thick layers of dust covering the mirrors, broken windows letting in cold drafts, and spider webs fluttering in the corners.

In this passage of time, it was a miracle that the apartment building could still maintain its terrifying ruins without completely collapsing.

Through the empty window sill, a strange light from the outside world shone in. This light was neither the morning or midday sun, nor the moonlight of the night, but a dim, dying light filled with the aura of destruction and the end of the world.

In Ymir's dream, the apartment building had become too eerie and bizarre...

It seemed not to be of this world, but a true hell on earth, dominated by the spirits of the underworld...

Following the black mist that spread everywhere, Ymir's consciousness gradually became incredibly clear, and all the movements in the apartment building appeared in his mind. He could clearly "see" his sister Kathleen's dream.

Kathleen's dream world was even more terrifying than the cursed apartment. It was a desolate wilderness, with no sky or sun, and gray ash falling from the sky. The ground was a black expanse of dead bones, lifeless and desolate, driving one to madness...

Kathleen stood there, somewhat lost, surrounded by an endless wasteland, devoid of any vegetation. The skulls on the ground gnashed their teeth, baring sharp fangs as if ready to devour anyone.

The pale sun in the sky cast a dim light, and the world was suffocatingly still, with no sign of life except for the gray ash that drifted in the wind.

Kathleen felt a growing panic and ran madly to escape this terrifying place.

But no matter how long she ran, it made no difference. The gray and lifeless world showed no change. It was a cursed world, devoid of any life except for the aura of death.

Ymir, in his previous life, was an only child. He had developed a fondness for his beautiful sister from the moment he took over this body. Seeing Kathleen at a loss, with a look of despair and horror in her eyes, Ymir became anxious.

He looked at his palm, which glowed with a pearl-like moonlight. The ash and skulls could not affect his body.

The ash passed through his body and fell to the ground, sparking a faint, dark flame.

The skulls on the ground moved their jaws but could not tear even a shred of flesh from Ymir's body.

A sudden realization dawned on Ymir. He understood that this world was not an illusion. It was a cursed land he had created, and any harm done in this dream would be reflected in the real world. If Kathleen died in her dream, her body in the real world would also lose its life.

Yes, Ymir had not fully resurrected. Whether it was Wu Di, who was killed by the Holy Lance in his previous life, or Ymir, who mysteriously disappeared and whose body was found in the outskirts of New York, both were already dead.

The body Ymir had previously felt was a mere illusion. He was not a living person but a ghost who had escaped the cycle of life and death, a wandering spirit, a resentful ghost, existing in this world through the power of dark energy.

"No!" Ymir's eyes glowed with a greenish ghostly fire, and he spread his arms, roaring at the sky. He did not want to be a ghost, did not want to be a half-dead, half-alive being. He did not want to harm his beautiful sister, whom he had just met today.
