Mizni's text message came back quickly: "So what if he is? Are you trying to say that since Quentyn, the son of the chairman of the Brand Group, is also studying at our college, we have an advantage? His information was always more accessible than the average person's. Ymir seriously suspected that Mizni had either developed super hearing or super vision, or had installed a radar in his ears to constantly receive all sorts of gossip from all directions.
"Who is Dr. Curt Connors? How did you get involved with New York University?"
Mizni replied to Ymir: "Dr. Connors is an extremely outstanding biologist and medical scientist who was once very active in the scientific community. Later, he lost an arm in a war and, after returning to his country, fell into a decline. He gave up all his previous achievements and returned to his alma mater to teach."
Before Ymir could finish reading this message, Mizni's next text came: "Didn't anyone tell you? My father graduated from New York University. He and Dr. Connors, as well as the genius scientist Reed Richards, are old alumni. They have been friends for about forty years!"
Ymir, sitting at his desk, started coughing violently, his face turning red. At first, he didn't react to who Curt Connors was, but the first thing he recalled was another identity of the genius scientist Reed Richards.
Unlike other superheroes who usually hide their true identities as tightly as a hen incubating eggs, Reed Richards was the famous Mr. Fantastic, a member of the Fantastic Four and their leader. His body structure was altered by cosmic rays during a space mission, allowing him to change his body into any shape at will. His wife, Sue Storm, also a graduate of New York University, was caught in the same accident and became the Invisible Woman, capable of invisibility, flight, energy blasts, and creating energy shields.
As for the other two members of the Fantastic Four, one was Reed's good friend Ben Grimm, also known as the Thing, who was incredibly strong and had a rock-hard body, serving as the mascot of the Fantastic Four.
The other was Sue's brother, Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch, who could produce flames and fly, with his body temperature reaching that of a supernova.
Because of the association with the superhero movies, Ymir suddenly realized that Curt Connors in Mizni's text was not an ordinary person.
He was the Lizard from the "Spider-Man" series. As Mizni said, Dr. Connors was a talented military doctor. During the Vietnam War, he was drafted and sent to the front lines to perform emergency surgeries.
One day, the U.S. military base was attacked by the enemy, and Connors' right hand was severely injured in a massive explosion. To save his life, he chose amputation and was sent back to the United States to recover.
From then on, Dr. Connors became a specially appointed professor at New York University.
In his spare time, Dr. Connors tried every means to restore his lost arm. Since surgery couldn't achieve his goal, he decided to use his expertise and began researching the regenerative systems of reptiles and various aspects of reptilian biology, hoping to find a way to regenerate human limbs.
Inspired by the regenerative abilities of reptiles, Dr. Connors attempted to change his fate using his expertise in new gene biology. He began secretly extracting lizard DNA and eventually invented a drug.
Unfortunately, although the drug was successful in animal tests, Dr. Connors lost his scientific calm and rationality. He believed that one successful case was enough and that there was no need to waste more time on human trials.
Dr. Connors directly injected the experimental drug into his body. While he did regain his arm, he couldn't control the drug's side effects.
His genes were altered by the drug, and his appearance began to change dramatically. He became a human with reptilian features. More terrifyingly, not only his appearance but also his mind was distorted. At night, he would transform into a lizard and go on a rampage, exhibiting more lizard-like behaviors and losing his human form.
These were the contents of the "Spider-Man" movies, and Ymir could only recall so much. He wasn't watching a pre-recorded film in a cinema; this was a real world. Although Ymir had confirmed that he was in the Marvel universe, he didn't have a precise grasp of the specific plot developments.
