Chapter 35

"Attention, attention! Spider-Man has appeared!" The voice of the commander came through the earpiece, and Herman Schultz, with a sinister smile, stepped out from behind the overturned car.

The yellow mesh mask made his already noseless and mouthless face look even more disgusting, like an ugly leech. The strange, yellow and brown mesh suit he wore was specially made to act as an insulator, preventing the weapons on his hands from harming him.

"You can call me Shocker, yes, I'm back."

Unlike Rhino, Shocker was cruel and cunning, but also highly intelligent. The gauntlets on his hands, which could fire dangerous shockwaves, electric currents, and even seismic cannons, were made by himself.

Spider-Man rubbed his head, realigning his neck, and said with a headache, "Leech Face, shouldn't you be in Rikers Island prison?"

Not long ago, Spider-Man had just defeated this escaped convict who intended to rob a diamond exchange. Shocker had created the seismic gauntlets specifically to escape from prison, and after successfully breaking out, he used them to commit crimes, which was only natural.

It must be said that for ordinary civilian technology, his interesting little weapon was already very advanced.

At least when facing the police in Manhattan, Shocker had the upper hand for a while, overwhelming the police's armed forces.

In a brief firefight, multiple police cars were destroyed by Shocker until Spider-Man arrived in time and defeated this smart and insane super-criminal. Spider-Man made a punching motion and said with a smile, "Does your face still hurt? Being hit by your own weapon must feel pretty bad!"

Shocker immediately became furious with embarrassment. When he was subdued by Spider-Man, his gauntlets had been taken from him. In retaliation, Spider-Man made him experience the shockwave from the gauntlets hitting his face.

"Take him down!" Just as Spider-Man was knocked down again by Rhino and Shocker, a person in a red and blue spandex suit appeared in front of him.

Despite the mask, the voice from behind was exactly the same as Peter Parker's.

"Chameleon..." Strictly speaking, this wasn't Spider-Man's opponent but a wanted criminal by S.H.I.E.L.D.

Chameleon, a ruthless and cunning professional killer. He possessed a belt made with mysterious technology that allowed him to transform into anyone by taking a photograph.

He was originally active in Istanbul, where he bombed the U.S. embassy. He then attacked a military outpost in Rome, disguised as a priest, and slipped away from S.H.I.E.L.D. unnoticed.

Later, Chameleon was hired by terrorists to disrupt a peace treaty signing ceremony, so he infiltrated New York and was coincidentally exposed by Spider-Man, finally being sent to prison.

This was a dangerous individual, not only listed as a wanted criminal by S.H.I.E.L.D., but also under arrest warrants from Rome and the Vatican.

Spider-Man smiled bitterly, realizing he was about to be surrounded and beaten. He hoped they wouldn't hit his face.

"It seems my bad luck hasn't ended yet." Without a moment to rest, Spider-Sense already warned Spider-Man of danger. He leaped from the awning of a street-side shop onto a tall billboard.

At the same moment he stood up, a cloud of concentrated sulfuric acid landed where he had been lying: "Taste the sulfuric acid, Spider-Man!"

"Oh, no!" He cried out in his mind, "Sorry, I'm not thirsty, you can keep it for yourself!"

In response, another spray of sulfuric acid came from Venom.

Spider-Man nimbly jumped to avoid the attack, then looked back at the Fantastic Four billboard that had been corroded by the acid and said, "Venom, guess what? If Johnny Storm sees you damaging his billboard, do you think he'll come after you?"

Unlike other superhero teams, the Fantastic Four were absolutely the most prominent in the Marvel universe. They were originally famous astronauts. During a mission in space, they encountered a powerful radiation storm.

After a difficult return to Earth, the effects of the radiation began to show: Susan mysteriously disappeared and reappeared, Ben turned into an orange rock monster, Reed's body became stretchable like rubber, and Johnny turned into a blazing fire, flying into the sky.

Many companies targeted them, especially Johnny Storm, who took on numerous endorsement deals. Therefore, it wasn't strange to see a Fantastic Four billboard here.

Unfortunately, Mike Donovan, wearing the scorpion-type insect suit, wouldn't care about any of this.

He was a former government investigator who later donned the Scorpion suit, which was developed as a biological weapon. As the scientists had predicted, Mike Donovan, wearing the Scorpion suit, gained formidable superpowers.

His strength and speed were significantly enhanced, and his scorpion tail had various attack capabilities, including seismic shock, tear gas, and even concentrated sulfuric acid.

However, the scientists who developed the suit overlooked a terrifying flaw: it would gradually corrode the brain of the wearer, taking control like the four mechanical arms of Doctor Octopus.

"There are too many of them, and Doctor Octopus is hiding in the shadows. I think I should retreat..."

He remembered the video he saw on Fleshy's phone, which showed Doctor Octopus. His delayed appearance suggested he was hiding and up to something.

It seemed all the super-criminals he had sent to prison had escaped. Spider-Man shuddered, feeling like an insect caught in a spider's web, trapped and helpless.

He shot a web and swung into the subway station, hoping to escape through the subway tunnels.

The situation was against him, with the villains having the upper hand. Spider-Man had no choice but to flee in a panic.

"Oh no, this is bad!" As soon as he landed in the subway, the gates behind him closed. Spider-Man hurried to see who was controlling the subway gates.

But before he could turn around, two bright lights appeared in front of him, and a train whizzed towards him with a howling wind.

Although he knew this was impossible, the environment was too realistic. What he saw was an old-fashioned train engine, filled with passengers, and the boiler spewing white smoke.

Wait, this isn't right! Spider-Man lowered his arms from his face, thinking. He knew who was creating this illusion: "Your virtual reality technology is getting outdated, Mysterio!"
