Chapter 4

After running for what seemed like an eternity, Kathleen stumbled and fell to the ground, her clothes crumpled into a mess, and the originally smooth stockings on her legs were now torn and tattered. Behind her, the skeletal land rose from the ground, and a massive skeleton spewing venomous flames appeared.

Kathleen screamed!

Her piercing scream did not affect the curse of the dream in the slightest, but Ymir's roar changed the entire dream.

Just as Kathleen closed her eyes, despair flooding over her like a tidal wave, the venomous skeleton behind her vanished without a sound.

She crouched on the ground, hugging her head, and screamed for a long time until her voice became hoarse and she had no more strength. Kathleen mustered the courage to open her eyes, and the entire dream world had changed.

The sky was blue, the clouds were white, and the sun shone brightly. Everything was still quiet.

However, the ground beneath her feet was no longer the terrifying skeletal land but an endless green meadow, dotted with various flowers that Kathleen recognized or did not recognize, blooming joyfully in the sunlight.

The falling ashes had all disappeared, and under the clear sky, the flowers and grass seemed to be draped in a layer of sacred light. A gentle breeze blew, bringing the fragrance of earth and flowers, like soft sunlight, calming Kathleen's heart.

"Truly beautiful..." Kathleen murmured softly, adjusting her posture and getting up from the ground, she stared at the meadow in a daze.

This nightmare seemed to be over. Kathleen stood there, bewildered, not understanding why tonight's dream had changed so drastically. Yes, she suddenly realized that she had been in a dream all along...

In the dream, she saw a figure approaching from a distance, the person she had long admired.

The big boss of her company, an American billionaire and arms manufacturer, known for his unique lifestyle, intelligence, and genius inventions, always looking like a playboy but someone Kathleen would never forget even in her dreams: "Tony Stark..."

"Tony Stark... Iron Man..."

Ymir, who only wanted to bring peace to his sister Kathleen, did not understand why he had transformed into a young, handsome uncle in a well-tailored, expensive suit. As he was trying to figure out who this figure was in Kathleen's mind, he was startled by her unintentional murmur!

Although Ymir had not read Marvel comics in his previous life, he had seen the American superhero movie "Iron Man" starring Robert Downey Jr.

He could remember perfectly that in the movie "Iron Man," the billionaire who became an American superhero by creating an armor was named Tony Stark.

His full name was Anthony Edward Tony Stark, not only the CEO of "Stark Industries" but also a famous arms dealer to the U.S. military in the movie!

Ymir was already somewhat intoxicated, his mind unable to comprehend the situation. Being able to resurrect in a Western body after being pierced by the Lance of Longinus was already astonishing enough, but the events of tonight revealed that he had not actually resurrected but was a ghost sustained by yin energy.

Well, since he had already accepted his "resurrection," why couldn't he accept being transported to another world?

Was there anything more bizarre than this? Ymir had never imagined it, but now it was firmly before his eyes. He had always thought "Iron Man" was a science fiction movie, but why did he end up as a ghost in a science fiction movie?

It was like suddenly seeing a giant mech in a horror movie or encountering Sadako or Kayako in "Transformers." It was too incredible!

However, Ymir was indeed ignorant. In the world of "Iron Man," supernatural events were actually quite common.

After all, "Iron Man" is a story set in a corner of the Marvel universe, where characters like Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, and Doctor Doom, who defy scientific principles, also exist.

Each superhero is not isolated. In later Marvel universe events, Doctor Strange, along with Iron Man Stark, Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four, and Black Bolt of the Inhumans, formed the Illuminati to exile the irrational and uncontrollable Hulk into space.

Held tightly in her sister Kathleen's embrace, Ymir had no time to feel the warmth of her chest. Instead, his mind was even more confused. Could it be that he had really been transported to a world just like the one in "Iron Man"?

The theory of parallel universes, which Ymir had encountered in his previous life, although he had not studied it in detail, he knew that the multiverse is a collection of an infinite or finite number of possible universes, including everything that exists and could exist.

In these universes, there could be timelines where Ymir's previous universe was born under the same conditions, possibly with planets identical to or with the same history as Earth, or even with identical humans.

At the same time, the development of things in these different universes could have different outcomes. In Ymir's previous world, superheroes who only existed in comics, movies, and games might actually exist in the current timeline he was in.

In other words, Ymir might not only be able to see the movie's Iron Man, Tony Stark, but also have the chance to meet various superheroes and supervillains with special abilities.

Thinking about it this way, perhaps Ymir's existence as a ghost was not unique. He might just be one of many mutants with special abilities.

Putting aside his inner turmoil, Ymir did not dare to tangle with his biological sister for too long. He quickly used his yin energy to break Kathleen's illusion and returned to his bedroom as a thought wave invisible to the naked eye.

It felt like an eternity had passed, or perhaps just a moment. Ymir rubbed his head and got up from the bed. To be honest, if he didn't have to worry about being ostracized by society, having special abilities was a very satisfying thing.

Ymir lowered his head and stretched his arms, realizing he could freely transform between physical and spiritual forms. In that case, as long as he was careful, others might not even notice that he was a ghost.

A sly smile, like a weasel who had just eaten a chicken, spread across his face. There were many regrets from his previous life that he had not fulfilled, and perhaps this was the best gift from heaven. Ymir opened his eyes, and his gaze sharpened. The neatly folded clothes on the bedside table floated up and automatically dressed him.
