"Of course not, tonight was absolutely terrible!" Spider-Man was clearly not the type to share his romantic failures with others; he might have been an exception if he had succeeded.
Imir grunted through his nose, "Alright, what do you want from me? I don't think superheroes can just barge into someone's house."
He felt that if he didn't get rid of the little bug soon, this night might indeed turn out to be very bad.
"Please, how can you treat me like this! I consider you my best friend in life. Look, I know your identity, and you know mine. We will be soulmates, right?"
Imir realized that if he didn't nod in agreement, Spider-Man might flood his room like the Temple of Gold.
"Hmm, then if you have any complaints or grievances, just sit there and talk about them." He pointed to a stool farthest from his bed.
Spider-Man found a chocolate bar on Imir's bed, glanced at Imir stealthily, and then lifted his mask to munch on it. While eating the chocolate, he kept talking non-stop.
"Tonight was really tough. I'm bruised all over, and the worst part is, my Spider-Man suit is torn again." Peter extended his arm, showing Imir the torn fabric stretched by his muscles.
To support the collapsing roof, Spider-Man had really gone all out, and his limbs were still a bit weak.
"After all this suffering, what did I get? Nothing! The heavens never give me any rewards!"
Spider-Man sighed deeply, "Ah, the worst part about being a masked hero is that you can't ask anyone to help you sew your torn suit."
Imir's eyes drifted to the ceiling, imagining Peter's怨妇-like expression as he sewed his suit in the middle of the night.
This was really damaging the image of a superhero. In Imir's mind, even if superheroes weren't as luxurious as Iron Man, they should at least be as cool as Daredevil. At the very least, they shouldn't be worrying about daily necessities like food and rent.
Now it seemed that among the superpowered, he wasn't the most miserable. Although he was a bit short on money, he at least had a caring sister, Kathleen, and he didn't have to sew his own suit in the middle of the night.
Just thinking about it made Imir shudder...
"I thought the worst thing that happened to you tonight would be missing your date with Felicia." In the face of Spider-Man's chatter, Imir's guard relaxed a bit, perhaps because Spider-Man already knew his powers.
"Damn! How did you know that!" Peter's eyes widened, as if trying to compete with an egg. He quickly realized what had happened at the NYU gate: "It was you who pranked Morbius."
"Hmm, I hate that greasy bat." Imir never hid his likes and dislikes.
Peter became agitated and jumped off the bed, "How can you misuse your powers like that? Although, I hate him too..."
"So what? Besides, I didn't try to kill him." Imir felt he was being quite merciful.
"Alright..." Peter thought about it; he didn't have the ability to do anything to Imir. He found another snack under Imir's bedside table, "Did you buy all this candy because you like sweets?"
Imir's eyebrows twitched; he realized Peter really treated him like a close friend.
At least in terms of his snacks, Peter didn't treat him like an outsider.
For some reason, after Imir was reborn in this world, he developed a liking for sweets. It seemed that only the stimulation of delicious snacks on his taste buds could suppress the evil thoughts that constantly surged in his heart, reminding him that he still had humanity and wasn't a mindless demon.
"Are you not curious why the demon is targeting Mr. Herbert Landon?" Seeing the faint green glow in Imir's eyes, Peter finally restrained himself a bit, pulling out a bag of shrimp chips and eating while talking.
Imir asked casually, "Why should I be curious? What does it have to do with me?"
Peter licked his lips, seemingly surprised by Imir's attitude, "My uncle Ben often told me, with great power comes great responsibility..."
"I think he didn't add that curiosity also comes with it, right?" Imir, who had seen the Spider-Man movies in his past life, looked at Peter suspiciously, "I'm not well-read, don't lie to me."
"But I am curious..." Peter, under Imir's glare, felt as if he had committed a heinous crime.
"Then go investigate yourself. You found my house, don't tell me you can't find the demon."
Imir lay back on his bed, spreading out in a "大" shape. He didn't think tracking a demon had anything to do with him. Besides, with the curse he had placed on the demon, it shouldn't be feeling too good right now.
"I suspect the demon won't let Herbert go and will definitely be active near the Brand Corporation headquarters." Peter, seeing Imir lying down comfortably, felt increasingly wronged, "But I've already used all my strength. If you come with me, it will definitely be fine."
It might not just be this reason. Spider-Man had been beaten up by the Sinister Six during the day, leaving an indelible mark on Peter. Having Imir, whose strength was unfathomable, on his side would ensure his safety.
"I'll go with you to find the demon, and I'll take him down!" Peter kept nagging in Imir's ear until Imir, with a furious expression, floated off the bed.
At this moment, Imir's eyes weren't just burning with ghostly fire; his entire face was dark.
He finally understood that Spider-Man had come here with the intention of dragging him to deal with the demon.
If the demon wasn't dealt with, Imir was worried Peter wouldn't leave easily. He had developed some fondness for Peter, perhaps even a bit of sympathy, so he couldn't bring himself to kill the little bug. There was no other choice; Imir could only vent his anger on the demon. He had already imagined the demon in 88 different positions in his mind.
