Chapter 2 of 100

Chapter 2

3 min read743 words

Alright, I admit I resorted to a sensationalist title. Since the release of this book, I've never really interacted with my readers, so I took this opportunity to use the Three Rivers promotion to talk more and hopefully attract more people to come and read.

Being featured on the Three Rivers page and spending a sweet week with her is a dream for many writers, and I'm no exception. To be on the Three Rivers page, I must first thank myself. The battles in this book are far more exciting than those in "Dream of the Red Chamber"; the military and political aspects are far more rigorous than "University Physics"; and the portrayal of romantic relationships is so delicate that even "On War" can't catch up.

Of course, I have to be proud of myself for writing such a divine book, hahaha~

Alright, enough of this nonsense. The book's success today is largely due to the support of my readers. The book is now over 200,000 words, but I've never asked for recommendations, clicks, collections, or donations in the chapters. Do I not need them? Of course not. Am I not grateful when readers donate or vote for the book? Of course not. It's just that I believe, to ensure a good reading experience for my readers, it's best not to say irrelevant things in the chapters or post lists of donors.

Look, I'm such an honest guy (more integrity lost).

So, here I am, with deep emotion and solemnity, saying once: I really want clicks, collections, recommendations, donations, votes, and likes. The more, the better. I deeply appreciate the support of my readers, and it is the greatest motivation for me to keep writing.

This Three Rivers promotion, I hope my readers will vote for me.

First, click on "Three Rivers" in the navigation bar to enter the Three Rivers channel, then click the big red "Click to Claim" button to get the Three Rivers vote, and finally, cast it for this book. Each account with over 5,000 points can vote once a day. I don't ask for much, just that the ranking isn't too low, as that would be embarrassing.

After talking about the serious business of asking for votes, I also want to thank my editor, Tian You. Although I've only spoken to him once, the recommendations have been constant since September, and this week, I made it to the Three Rivers. When I received the message on Tuesday that I was on the Three Rivers, it was a pleasant surprise, the best Mid-Autumn Festival gift, worth at least 588 egg yolk lotus seed paste mooncakes. I also want to thank the Three Rivers editors for selecting my book from the vast sea of books on Qidian. Let me tell you, the Three Rivers editors' eyes are simply amazing.

Finally, let's talk about this book.

The initial idea to write a book about swords and magic came at the end of last year, after watching "The Hobbit." The epic adventures in a fantasy world really get the blood pumping and the heart racing.

Having the urge to write, I couldn't just start blindly. I thought of many themes but couldn't decide. It wasn't until May this year, when I watched a video of "Neverwinter Nights Online" on A Station, that I got an idea. The game didn't use the classic spell slot system, which sparked a debate among some enthusiasts. I had a flash of inspiration and decided to write a story about a mana bar mage who is incredibly cool and awesome.

The reason for writing this book might seem a bit trivial, but when I started writing, I was very serious. I wrote eight different openings and repeatedly revised the specific abilities of the golden finger to ensure they were both satisfying and didn't break the balance or narrative structure. I even rebuilt a new magic system with six major schools and twelve branches, along with a new leveling system. But after much consideration, I decided to use a more mature existing system.

I've said all this just to let my readers know that I take my writing of this book very seriously. The book is only 200,000 words so far, but there are many more exciting stories and a vast, mysterious world waiting for me to type out with my keyboard.

Wishing all my readers a pleasant reading experience.
