Chapter 100

Eunseo yelled, “Of course, I know! How could I not?!”

Every time her one-sided crush didn’t work out, Eunseo cried her eyes out. She cried for Seo Hyunwoo, and she couldn’t even imagine how devastated she would be when things ended between her and Jihwan. She knew all of this, but she began this relationship anyway.

“If you knew, why are you being so foolish? Why are you doing this?” Seo Hyunwoo looked at Eunseo with sadness. “Miss Kang, you aren’t some cheap woman. You are a rational and cautious woman, so why are you doing this?”

“What else can I do?!” Eunseo screamed. She couldn’t help falling in love, so what was she supposed to do? If she had control over her heart, Eunseo would make sure she never falls in love. She continued, “I didn’t want to fall in love with him! But it happened, so what am I supposed to do? I’m human, you know. So I wanted to be with someone I was in love with. Is that so wrong?”

“…” Seo Hyunwoo became silent.

“I don’t plan on dating him or marrying him. So why can’t I have this?” Eunseo crouched on the ground again and began sobbing.

Seo Hyunwoo looked at her sadly and whispered, “…I just don’t want you to suffer, Miss Kang. I don’t want you to be in pain.”

It seemed that the end of her relationship with Jihwan was near.

After getting the text message from Eunseo earlier, Jihwan had been anxious all day. He texted her back a few times, but Eunseo hadn’t responded. Just as she said, she never showed up to his office that day.

Jihwan didn’t think that this was because Eunseo now lived close by. So many thoughts crossed his mind. Could it be that someone found out about their relationship? Or did Eunseo end up with Seo Hyunwoo somehow? Were they dating? Or was Eunseo just tired of him?

Eunseo said she won’t be visiting Jihwan for a while. But how long was this? A week? A month? It couldn’t be forever, could it?

It was very possible that Jihwan might never get to taste Eunseo’s milk again, but this wasn’t what worried him. He was only worried about how Eunseo felt. He feared that she was sick of him now.

Jihwan wished he could run to her right now and ask. He wanted to ask her why she was doing this, but he knew he couldn’t. He had no idea what was going on, and if he made the wrong move, it could all be all over.

After work, Jihwan called Eunseo as soon as he left the office. Eunseo lived in the nearby building, so he could see her soon.

When she answered, Jihwan asked, “Where are you? Did you get off work? When will you be home?”

-No, there is a team dinner tonight, Mr. Kwon.

“When will that end? What time?”

-I don’t know. I think it might last till very late tonight.

Jihwan was about to ask her where this dinner was taking place, but Eunseo quickly added.

– I need to go now. I’m sorry. I’ll see you later, Mr. Kwon.

Eunseo hung up, and Jihwan stared at his phone for a while. But he knew there was another way to find out where she was. Jihwan quickly called the team leader of the design department.

“Manager Choi, I heard your department is having a team dinner tonight. Is that true?” asked Jihwan.

-Ah, yes, Boss! We’re about to begin.

“Where are you? I think I want to drop by too.”

-Of course. We’re at the restaurant across from the office…

After getting the name of the restaurant, Jihwan began walking. It was already getting a little dark, and it didn’t take long before he reached his destination. Jihwan was about to enter the restaurant when he spotted a man and a woman a little distance away. The woman had her back to him, but Jihwan immediately knew that it was Eunseo.

Before Jihwan could call out to her, he heard Eunseo say to the man, “…I’m in love…”

When Jihwan realized that it was Seo Hyunwoo who was standing in front of Eunseo, he became cold. He had been giving all kinds of gifts to Eunseo and pleasured her every day. He cooked for her and even played the piano for her.

Jihwan was so desperate for her, yet it seemed that Eunseo was still in love with Seo Hyunwoo.

It seemed that Jihwan had no chance. He clenched his fists. His eyes began tearing up when Eunseo continued, “But it’s just a crush. President Kwon doesn’t feel anything for me. He isn’t interested in me.”

Jihwan couldn’t believe his ears. What did she just say…?

Seo Hyunwoo said to Eunseo, “Miss Kang, that man is the heir to Korean Construction. Don’t you understand that he isn’t right for you? You’ll just get hurt.”

Eunseo yelled, “Of course, I know! How could I not?! So I wanted to be with someone I was in love with. Is that so wrong?”

Jihwan was in disbelief. He froze, but when he saw Seo Hyunwoo coming toward him, Jihwan began running away like he was caught doing something wrong.
