Even though she was clearly in pain, Kang Eunseo yelled, “No way! You can’t!”

Jihwan knew this was a ridiculous idea. He wasn’t her husband or lover. He was only her boss and nothing more, and what he was about to do wasn’t something a superior would do for his employee.

Jihwan felt just as uncomfortable and awkward about it. He wished he could avoid doing this. But he couldn’t just watch her suffer like this.

Jihwan insisted, “Listen, I am not interested in you in any way, Miss Kang Eunseo. And I’m sure you feel the same way about me too. I’m just saying that this is necessary since it’s an emergency. It’s just medical treatment and nothing more.”

“No, never. I can’t.” Eunseo shook her head emphatically.

“Then what do you plan to do? You’re going to suffer like this till morning?”

“I will.” Eunseo sounded determined.

“Alright. Suit yourself.” Jihwan crossed his arms and watched her. Eunseo wrapped herself in her blanket and turned around away from him. It appeared that she was gritting her teeth not to make any sound because he could hear tiny moans escaping her mouth through her teeth.

He could tell how much pain she must be going through right now.

Jihwan was becoming even more frustrated. Eunseo looked so fragile, yet it seemed that she was a stubborn woman. He could understand how embarrassing this must be, but shouldn’t she get herself out of pain first?

About an hour later, the woman who seemed so determined finally gave up.

Eunseo whispered, “…Please help.”

Eunseo sighed. “Let’s just try, okay?”

First, he brought a mug and a garbage can that were used to decorate the booth. He sat Eunseo on the edge of the bed and knelt in front of her. It created a perfect height for him to do what he needed to do.

Kang Eunseo kept her eyes closed tightly. It was Jihwan who suggested this, but he now felt nervous. He has never done something like this before, so he felt silly offering his help so confidently. Jihwan began regretting immediately. What if he doesn’t help her and creates an even more embarrassing situation?

Feeling unsure, he leaned to touch her clothes when Eunseo flinched.

She whispered, “C…can’t we turn off the light?”

Jihwan quickly turned off the lamp. Darkness fell around them. Because there were still lights far away in the hallway, there was still enough light for him to see the general shape of everything.

Through dimness, he saw Kang Eunseo pull up her sweater. He could tell that her hands were trembling, and he felt sympathetic toward her. This was an unavoidable situation, but it didn’t mean she enjoyed showing her bare breasts to a complete stranger. Perhaps it was even worse because he wasn’t actually a complete stranger.

He was her boss.

Jihwan wanted to console her, tell her that everything was going to be okay and that she shouldn’t be so nervous. But he stopped himself. He felt like it would be best to act more professional and business-like.

He explained, “What we do today is just medical treatment. Once it’s done, we’ll forget about it. And obviously, you don’t have to worry about other people finding out.”
