36.
Realizing Jihwan was teasing her again, Eunseo narrowed her eyes at him. Jihwan shrugged and added,
“It’s the truth. I’m sucking all the nutrients out of you, so think of this as a reparation. And if you ever have a craving for anything, please let me know at any time. Well, for dinner, you’ll have to give me some notice because I have a lot of dinner engagements. So we’ll have to schedule it in advance, but we can make it work.”
Eunseo’s heart fell. Dinner engagements… Was Jihwan talking about dinner dates? Did he have a girlfriend?
Eunseo suddenly realized the terrifying truth. She didn’t even know if Kwon Jihwan had a girlfriend. Trying her best to look calm and uncaring, Eunseo asked,
“Are you talking about your girlfriend?”
Jihwan looked shocked.
“Hey, I may not be a good guy, but do you really think I would do those things with you if I had a girlfriend?”
“Ah, of course. I apologize.”
Eunseo replied nonchalantly, but she felt happy inside. To be honest, nothing would have changed even if he had a girlfriend.
Now, it was Kwon Jihwan’s turn to ask.
“I have a question for you too.”
When Eunseo looked up at him, Jihwan continued.
“Why do you like Seo Hyunwoo so much?”
Eunseo hesitated before opening her mouth.
“He’s the only one who looked at my eyes.”
Eunseo could have ignored his question, but she felt like explaining. In a way, she wanted Jihwan to know. It was true that she liked Kwon Jihwan, but she also felt a little annoyed that he was only interested in her breasts.
Of course, it was her fault for falling in love with a man who was only into her breasts.
“Eyes?” Jihwan asked.
“Other men always look at my breasts, but Seo Hyunwoo looked into my eyes.”
“Ha!” Kwon Jihwan crossed his arms and laughed.
Eunseo was being serious, but it seemed that Jihwan found her answer ridiculous.
“I didn’t realize what a hypocrite Seo Hyunwoo is, Miss Kang.”
“Pardon?”
Jihwan uncrossed his arms and leaned toward her.
“I’m telling you that every man you meet in the world will always be interested in your breasts unless he’s gay. If they claim otherwise, they’re just lying. And when they go home, they’ll think about doing it with you in all kinds of different ways.”
Eunseo glared at Kwon Jihwan’s annoyingly handsome face. She retorted,
“Do you think Seo Hyunwoo is like you?”
“Of course, he’s like me. He’s a man too, isn’t he?”
After mumbling this, Jihwan suggested,
“Why don’t you just tell him the truth, Miss Kang?”
“This is none of your business, Sir.”
Eunseo replied firmly, but Kwon Jihwan was stubborn.
“Isn’t it possible that he might accept you the way you are if you told him the truth? Don’t you think you’re being foolish? You’re running away without even trying.”
Eunseo suddenly felt anger boiling up inside of her. Did he think she was running away because she wanted to? Did Jihwan think she liked living this way?
Jihwan continued,
“You can’t live your whole life like that. Aren’t you ever going to date?”
Eunseo lost her appetite. She placed her chopsticks on the table and announced,
“Thank you for dinner.”
“Huh? What’s wrong? You barely ate anything.”
“No, I’m full now.”
“Are you… angry?”
When Eunseo picked up her purse and got up, Jihwan stood up as well and grabbed her bag. He apologized,
“I didn’t mean to upset you. I’m sorry.”
“I think I’ll go home now.”
“Wait, then I’ll go with you. Let me drive you home,” Jihwan begged.
“No, it’s alright. I’ll just take a taxi.”
“Don’t be like that. I’ll get my car in a second, so…”
Feeling frustrated, Eunseo yanked her purse and yelled,
“I told you I’m fine!”
Snap!
To her shock, she saw that her leather bag strap broke. Eunseo flinched. This was a bag she purchased when she first got hired. It cost her a lot of money, so she couldn’t believe this was happening.
But she didn’t have the time to care about her purse. Right now, she just wanted to get away from Kwon Jihwan as quickly as possible.
“Excuse me.”
Eunseo left without looking back. But before she could take even a few steps, she felt him grab her arm.
When she turned around, she saw Kwon Jihwan looking straight into her eyes. He muttered,
“Why don’t you be more honest?”
His eyes were so sharp like he could read what she was thinking deep inside. She hated this feeling.
Did this man think he knows everything when he has never lived a day in her shoes?!
Trying her best not to get her anger gain control, Eunseo gritted her teeth and replied,
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“It’s so obvious you’re dying to date. You want to hold hands, kiss, and sleep with that man. But all you’re doing right now is just thinking about him and pining over him, aren’t you? Like an idiot.”
