Eunseo became very nervous. She asked, “Did you miss the meeting because of me?”

“Well, no nothing like that. Anyway, since that company is also on holiday, I couldn’t call them. So I was just wondering if you remembered the call, Miss Kang. And since you didn’t answer my call, I had no choice but to visit you in your home.”

Eunseo finally understood the situation. So Jihwan came to her home because of work. Well, it made more sense than Jihwan visiting her because he knew she was sick. He wasn’t a fortune teller, right?

But even though Eunseo knew this made sense, she couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed and sad.

Suddenly, Jihwan turned angry. He asked, “By the way, why didn’t you answer my call? I called you so many times!”

Eunseo hesitated before telling him the truth. “I don’t answer the numbers I don’t recognize.”

Eunseo had met many perverts in her lifetime. She had to go through many annoying things. More than once, strange men somehow found out her phone number and kept calling her. This was why she screened her calls.

“…You don’t know my phone number?” Jihwan couldn’t believe it.

For a moment, Eunseo wondered if she did something wrong. But then, why would she know CEO Kwon Jihwan’s phone number? They have never exchanged numbers, right?

“You never gave me your number, Mr. Kwon,” Eunseo said respectfully, but she refused to apologize. In fact, there was a little bit of anger in her voice.

“But my number is registered in the company phone list. Didn’t you see it?” asked Jihwan in confusion.

Well, there were hundreds of numbers on that list, so who would look up the boss’s phone number and remember it?

When Eunseo didn’t respond, Jihwan demanded, “Well, put it in your phone right now then.”

When Eunseo slowly took out her phone, Kwon Jihwan grabbed it. He began pressing his number on her phone, but then he suddenly became very frustrated.

“Ugh, why isn’t it working?! Why won’t the touchpad work?”

“Umm… It’s an old phone. Sorry. It doesn’t work very well,” Eunseo apologised. It was a five-year-old cell phone, so it died often.

“Haa…” Jihwan sighed, but he refused to give up. He managed to register his number on Eunseo’s phone. He returned the phone to her, and all that was left to do was to put the name of this contact.

Eunseo could feel Jihwan staring at her, and she contemplated.

Putting his full name “Kwon Jihwan” seemed very rude. But what else could she put? In the end, she typed “President Kwon”.

When Jihwan saw this, he seemed unhappy.

“President Kwon?” Jihwan asked in annoyance.

Eunseo didn’t know how to respond. “You’re President Kwon, so that’s what I wrote…”

She felt very confused. Jihwan brought her to his own home, so she assumed he wasn’t angry anymore. But now, he was grumbling and complaining about every little thing.

Why was Kwon Jihwan acting so strangely?

Eunseo decided that she should keep quiet and just eat her food. When she finally finished her bowl clean, Jihwan looked satisfied. He brought her medicine and fed it to her.

Then, Jihwan turned on the music. Smooth jazz rang in the apartment, and feeling a little sheepish, he murmured, “It’s Christmas, so we should listen to some music.”

Now that Eunseo thought about it, today was Christmas eve. When she checked her watch, she saw that it was almost midnight. She was pretty much sick all Christmas eve, but she wasn’t disappointed. It wasn’t like she had anything to do.

Besides, it looked like being sick paid off. She was going to get a very special Christmas this year because of it. Eunseo felt like a princess being taken care of by a prince.

Jihwan asked quietly, “Did you get any Christmas presents?”

When Eunseo shook her head, he offered, “Then you should take some since you’re here.”

“Pardon?”

“I’m talking about those over there.” Jihwan pointed at the large Christmas tree. Underneath it, there was a pile of gift boxes.

Eunseo asked, “What are those?”

“I got them from different people since it’s Christmas, but I don’t even know what to do. There are so many of them.”

This made sense to Eunseo. Kwon Jihwan was the president of a successful company, so it was no wonder he got gifts from everyone. But she still felt awkward trying to pick one when they didn’t even belong to her.

When Eunseo seemed hesitant, Jihwan grabbed her wrist and took her to the tree.

“Come over here,” he ordered.

He insisted Eunseo pick something. She has never seen this many gifts in her life even when she was little. And she could pick anything she wanted!

Her heart pounded in excitement. Trying to pick the cheapest present, Eunseo chose the smallest box she saw in the corner. But when she opened it, she saw that it was a watch.

A very very very expensive watch.
