Chapter 75

Jiye announced, “Oh my god, so you’re cooking now that you got a woman?”

Jihwan was still chopping onions when he jolted. He almost cut off his finger, so he placed the knife down. When he turned around, he saw that his older sister had her arms crossed and was staring at him with interest.

She asked, “Who’s that woman?”

“Who are you talking about?”

“Don’t pretend you don’t know. I’m talking about the woman you brought here on Christmas!”

Dammit, Jihwan realized that he was caught. But this was expected. This whole building was built by his grandfather, and there were several chairmen of their company living here. Jihwan carried her up to his home, so it wasn’t a surprise that someone saw him. He expected the possibility that his sister or even his grandfather might have heard about it.

Jihwan was thinking hard when Jiye questioned him again,

“So who is she? If you brought her here, it’s obviously not some one night stand or something. Are you going to marry her or something?”

“Yup.” Jihwan answered, and flinched. He answered without even thinking. He only found out he liked her a few days ago, and he hadn’t even thought about marrying her, but his lips just answered her.

But now that he thought about it, this wasn’t a bad idea at all. After all, the only way to make sure she ate well was for them to live together, right? And if she lived with him, he would be able to have all the milk he wanted.

When Eunseo was here, this giant house seemed so much warmer. Jihwan felt like his life would be amazing if he could spend it with her, Because of Jihwan, he found so many things much more interesting. He wanted to go shopping more for her and he even found cooking fun.

Jihwan felt like he found the answer. He mumbled, “Yeah, I want to get married.”

“OMG.” Jiye stared at her little brother in shock. She asked, “So what does she do?”

“She’s a designer in our company.” Jihwan quickly added, “You can’t tell Mother about this yet.”

“Of course not. If she finds out, she’ll run to your office and try to find her.” Jiye put a finger on her lips, and because Jihwan trusted her, he felt relieved.

Jiye asked, “So what kind of woman is she?”

“She’s pretty. She’s kind and ethical,” Jihwan replied, but he knew Eunseo was so much more. He was disappointed that he couldn’t come up with better words to describe her.

Jiye looked at him proudly. “Good job, Kwon Jihwan. I was worried you might die all alone. My husband even thought that you might be gay.”

Jihwan shrugged and replied, “Well, I’m technically still alone.”

“What?”

“We aren’t dating yet. It’s a one sided crush on my part,” Jihwan answered.

Jiye believed that Jihwan was the best catch in the world, so Jihwan knew she would be shocked to hear this. He decided not to tell her that Eunseo actually liked another man.

Jiye asked in annoyance, “What kind of woman is she that would reject Kwon Jihwan? Is she a queen or something?”

“She didn’t reject me. I’m just saying we aren’t dating yet.”

“What family does she belong to? Which company do they own?” asked Jiye.

Jihwan was about to say that Eunseo was like Cinderella living with her mean stepmother and stepsister when suddenly, he remembered something.

Jihwan asked, “Wait, Sis, you have a condo building, don’t you?”

In their neighborhood, there were several buildings of one-bedroom condos. When Jiye got married, their grandfather gave her one as a gift. Their grandfather loved his grandchildren very much.

Jiye replied, “Yup, I have one. Why do you ask?”

“Do you have an empty condo by chance?”

“How should I know? I don’t take care of it personally, so I have no idea.”

Jihwan grabbed Jiye’s hand and begged, “I need you to get me a place. If you don’t have one, you’ll have to kick someone out.”

Jiye looked at her brother in shock. Jihwan was living in the penthouse, so why would he need a tiny one-bedroom condo?

Jihwan explained, “That woman… her situation isn’t great. She wants to leave her house, but she can’t because she doesn’t have the money. I want to get her an apartment, but she won’t accept it if she knows it’s from me.”

“What? She’s that poor?” asked Jiye. Jihwan knew his sister didn’t mean anything by this question. Jiye could be blunt, but she was also upfront and kind. Even her own husband wasn’t very rich, but she didn’t care. She claimed that it was fine because she herself was rich.

Jihwan replied, “She’s just in a bad situation. So you can’t take any deposit, and you need to only charge her 600 dollars per month as rent.”

“600 dollars? Okay.” Jiye nodded easily because she had no idea how much her condos were worth.
