The small mountain village was very peaceful at night. The night draped an elegant and composed cloak over the village, shrouding it in a misty, dreamlike beauty.
Following the girl's footsteps, Yun Yi arrived at her home.
The girl's home, like all the others in the village, was simply surrounded by a bamboo fence, with flowers blooming on the fence.
There were a few trees in the yard, growing lushly. In the darkness, Yun Yi could not identify the type of trees, but from the fruits hanging faintly on the branches, he could tell they were probably fruit trees.
As Yun Yi quietly stood in the bamboo-fenced yard, admiring the scenery of the rural courtyard, the main door of the girl's house opened, and a faint candlelight came from inside. The girl had already come out with her father and mother.
"Really, I'm very sorry for disturbing you so late. I couldn't find a place to stay at night, so..." Seeing the girl's father approaching, Yun Yi hurriedly stepped forward and immediately apologized, taking the responsibility for his visit upon himself.
In Yun Yi's view, bringing a stranger home at night would surely make the girl's parents blame her; therefore, to avoid involving this kind and beautiful girl, Yun Yi took the responsibility like a man.
"Hey, young man, what are you being so polite for? If you've come to our Green Cloud Mountain Village, there's no way we won't have a place for you to sleep." The girl's father laughed heartily in the darkness, then warmly shook Yun Yi's hand and said, "My daughter has already told me about you. Since you're here, you're our honored guest. Please come inside."
Saying this, the girl's father warmly led the way into the house, and as he walked, he didn't forget to tell his wife, "Honey, quickly go and prepare some hot food for the young man. We can't let our guest from afar go hungry."
"Brother, I'm already very grateful for letting me stay at your place for the night. There's no need to trouble your wife," Yun Yi was deeply moved by the girl's father's hospitality, knowing that the other party had no ulterior motives, so he felt a bit embarrassed by the warm welcome.
"Hey, when you come to our place, it's like coming to your own home. Why be so formal?" The girl's mother was also very warm, waving to Yun Yi and then hurriedly entering the dark kitchen, where a faint candlelight soon appeared.
After the girl's father pulled Yun Yi into the main room and sat down, he warmly chatted with Yun Yi. The topics revolved around where Yun Yi came from, what his hometown was like, and what interesting things were happening in the outside world.
Feeling the warmth and sincerity of the girl's father, along with his hearty laughter, Yun Yi gradually put aside his urban habit of being cautious with everyone. He began to relax and chat with the girl's father with a smile.
The girl's mother was a capable housewife. After chatting with the girl's father for a short while, she brought out a large bowl of simple but hearty egg noodles and warmly invited Yun Yi to eat.
After a rather congenial conversation with the girl's father, Yun Yi had already put aside much of his initial awkwardness. Thus, at the girl's father's warm invitation, he picked up the steaming bowl of egg noodles and began to eat.
After finishing the noodles, the couple chatted with Yun Yi for a while and noticed that he looked very tired. They then invited him to rest in the prepared side room.
The room they arranged for Yun Yi was the side room on the west side of the main room. Although Yun Yi hadn't gone inside, he knew that in rural houses, the main room was the living room, the east room was the parents' bedroom, and the west room was the children's bedroom.
"Hmm, the west side room shouldn't be Daya's room, right? After all, Daya is a girl over ten years old, and it wouldn't be appropriate for me to sleep in her room. I guess Daya's family must have another brother or sister," Yun Yi thought as he walked to the side room.
"How could it be a girl's room?" Just as Yun Yi was thinking that Daya's family might have another brother or sister, his thoughts were dispelled by the situation in the side room, as it was clearly a girl's room.
Although this small room didn't have the distinctive perfume scent of city girls, it had a faint, light, and fresh scent of a young girl, clean, natural, and pure. The room was also meticulously tidy and clean, as only a girl could be.
Thinking of girls, Yun Yi couldn't help but recall Daya's beautiful appearance when she was scolding the big dog on the mountain road not long ago...
With a reverent heart, Yun Yi lay on Daya's bed. The pillow faintly carried the light, fresh scent of a girl's hair. Yun Yi couldn't help but take a deep breath, and in the faint fragrance, he vaguely saw Daya's slender and weak figure, her delicate and charming movements, which made him smile.
Lying in bed, Yun Yi soon felt sleepy. However, he then noticed that his clothes were very dirty. He remembered that he had fallen several times, not only dirtying his clothes but also scraping his arm and causing it to bleed.
Thinking of this, Yun Yi suddenly felt a pain in his arm. He quickly rolled up his sleeve and saw that his arm had been scraped, with blood slowly oozing out and staining a large part of his sleeve.
He quickly took off his shirt and put it on the side of the bed. Then, he carefully cleaned the dirt from the wound, preparing to bandage it himself.
"Ouch!" Perhaps because the candlelight was too dim, and Yun Yi had forgotten about the ring on his finger, when he carefully cleaned the wound with his fingers, the edge of the ring accidentally scratched the wound, causing him intense pain.
"This damn ring, damn old Taoist." Yun Yi quickly put down the small bottle of alcohol and checked the wound. Seeing that there was no secondary injury, he sighed in relief.
However, although he was relieved, he didn't let the trouble-making ring off the hook. He took the ring off his finger, looked at it casually, and seeing his own blood on it, decided not to keep this 'troublemaker' anymore. He casually threw the ring to one side and continued to carefully clean his wound.
After cleaning the wound, the half-hermit Yun Yi fell asleep, not even bothering to search for his scattered belongings.
When Yun Yi fell asleep, he didn't notice that the blood on the ring was slowly fading, and the ring began to emit a faint red light.
"What... What's happening?" As the red light grew brighter and turned white, Yun Yi was awakened by the light. He looked at the strange scene and said in surprise, "What is this? Where did it come from?"
As soon as he said this, Yun Yi suddenly felt a flash before his eyes, and he found himself in a strange space. ................................................................
