The Seventeenth Sentence Part 2

A few seconds later, Cheng Su straightened up his expression and raised his chin. “Just let her pay.”

The girl blinked and did not understand what they were trying to do. She nodded and said, “Oh, okay, I will scan it.”

Pu Tao quickly pulled up the WeChat pay feature.

Plop! Her heart dropped a bit. It was no longer bungee jumping like before.

They told the girl they would be exploring and they walked along a narrow path.

After the twists and turns, they suddenly came across an opening.

The huge bookshelves surrounded everything and had antique books, instruction manuals, and some foreign book collections. The lights dyed the paper into an old-fashioned yellow.

Then, across the door, was another world. The walls were white and it was shady. The view was clear, the layout had become updated and it was the area for modern books.

As they walked forward, there was a square courtyard with unusual flowers. It was decorated with randomly placed vintage-style tables and chairs.

The customers were drinking tea and coffee here, and some of them were working on their laptops during the entire afternoon. They did not disturb each other and spoke in a low voice to not break the peaceful secluded atmosphere.

Cheng Su led Pu Tao to find an empty table.

As soon as she sat down, Pu Tao whispered, “Did you design everything?”

“Mhm.”

She asked, “Where is the other store?”

Cheng Su sat down on the opposite side of her. “Tianfu Avenue 1 .”

Pu Tao looked around. She was stunned and curious. “Does Shan City also have a bookstore?”

“Yes, there are also two in Shan City, and it has the main store.” Cheng Su frowned and leaned back in his chair. “Why? Are you investigating my wealth?”

Pu Tao covered up her lips. She was afraid that her smile would be too obvious and would be detected by him. “No, I think you are so amazing.”

He was so perfect that she shouldn’t have been able to meet him in real life. When she thought about it, she was really glad.

Pu Tao looked down at her hand and said, “Well, when I go back, I will have to give this hand up as an offering because it has been held by a powerful person.”

“You would go that far?”

“Why not!” She had a very serious attitude.

"

"

Cheng Su’s lips curved. He did not know if it was the atmosphere or his mood, but he looked a little pleased. “Tell me about yourself.”

Pu Tao pointed to herself. “Huh? Me?” She pouted. “I am a poor wage earner.” ⭑

He was frank, and so she was the same.

Pu Tao continued, “Didn’t I tell you before that I did drawings? I do geological surveying and mapping. I draw the maps on a computer with a 1:1000 scale. I use the software called Mapmatrix to collect everything, and then edit it with AutoCad. The editing makes the map surface look more pleasing. When I collect things, I have to wear glasses that are very similar to the ones used to watch 3D movies.”

As soon as she talked, it was nonstop. She took out her cell phone, pulled up a picture and passed it over to Cheng Su. “This picture was taken from a computer with a cell phone. You can’t see it, but if you put on the glasses, you can actually see the mountains and the ground. It is all three-dimensional, just like sitting on a plane and looking down. When I first started doing this, I was really interested in it, and I was even a little bit like a chunibyo 2 . I felt that I had the hands of a God and could draw the world. Of course, all there is left now is boredom.”

As she spoke, she suddenly came to a realization. “Did you understand what I was talking about?”

“The main parts.” Cheng Su looked at her. “I just think you are the amazing one.”

Pu Tao complained, “Are you going to imitate me like that all the time?”

Cheng Su’s lips rose, lowered his eyes and chuckled at himself. “You found out.”

“Yes.”

When Cheng Su looked back at her, he seemed vulnerable. “When I look at you, I can’t speak.”

His eyes were deep and quiet, like a secluded reservoir.

Pu Tao did not dare to look at him face to face at all and was acting silly. “Me, too.”

She turned her entire upper body around. “Why don’t we talk like this?”

Cheng Su was amused by her. “Turn back.”

Pu Tao turned around and covered her face with both hands. “Like this?”

Cheng Su was helpless. “Can you put your hands down?”

Pu Tao massaged her head. “What do we do? How do we solve this problem? We are too awkward.”

Without thinking, Cheng Su said, “Sit next to me.”

Pu Tao was surprised. The temperature of her ears rose sharply. “If we do that we can’t see each other’s face, right?”

Cheng Su agreed, “It should make things a little better.”

Pu Tao pulled her chair and sat down beside him.

She sat up properly and looked straight ahead. She used her peripherals to look for him. “Is it okay if I sit like this?”

Cheng Su glanced at her and his eyes curved. “It might not be okay.”

Pu Tao asked, “Then what should I do?”

As soon as she spoke, he moved closer to her and her hand was suddenly grabbed and held.

It was such a big surprise that Pu Tao’s heart immediately started jumping. Ba-dum, ba-dum— jumping to extremes. For a moment, she did not know how to move.

Cheng Su leaned back again. He finally did something he really wanted to do and said, “It’s okay to sit like this.”
