The Eighteenth Sentence Part 1

The courtyard was quiet. They were also quiet. Only the wind was blowing, the grass was dancing.

Pu Tao did not know how long they held hands. She slowly calmed down. At this moment, even if a word was not said, the atmosphere would not become awkward.

After a while, the store clerk brought over two drinks. She took a look at them and left quickly.

Pu Tao’s chest fluctuated slightly. Suddenly, her cell phone lit up.

The time on the screen showed that it was almost three o’clock.

She turned her head and asked Cheng Su, “Are you going back?”

Cheng Su looked back. “What time is it?” (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ ℝ𝕖𝕒𝕕 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕗𝕣𝕖𝕖 𝕠𝕟 𝕗𝕠𝕩𝕒𝕙𝕠𝕝𝕚𝕔.𝕔𝕠𝕞 ♥

Pu Tao picked up the phone with one hand and stated, “Three o’clock.”

Cheng Su leaned forward and glanced, “Yeah, I need to go back to the hotel.”

The feeling of not wanting this to stop was spreading. Pu Tao pursed her lips. She was worried that he would be late. “Let’s go, I’m afraid of you missing the bus.”

Cheng Su picked up his coffee and took a sip. “Okay.”

The hands were still together.

They were not stuck together because of superglue, and no one was forcing them to do it.

They got up together, and Cheng Su led her back to the bookstore.

Pu Tao giggled. “Do you want to keep holding hands?”

“Mhm.” Cheng Su didn’t even think when he answered.

Pu Tao’s grin grew. “I can’t feel my hand from all the hand holding.”

Cheng Su stopped and looked at her. “What about the other one?”

Pu Tao shook her head. “It’s better if it’s this one.”

Cheng Su laughed and continued to walk through the door. He said goodbye to the store clerk.

When the girl saw that they were leaving, she was surprised and asked, “But you just got here?”

Pu Tao pointed to Cheng Su. “He needs to go back to Shan City.”

The girl said, “Oh, so you guys are long-distance. I thought you came to Rong City to have fun.”

Her words “boss’s wife” and “long-distance” defined their relationship. Pu Tao could not argue against it, and in the end she simply said nothing. As for Cheng Su, he was poised the entire time and quietly agreed with everything.

Yiuteung Mansion was very close to Temple Water Street, so they went there by foot.

They walked into the hotel lobby, the modern republic style 1 was prevalent. The modest and simple European influences could be seen everywhere.

Looking ahead, there were only a few people around and it was peaceful. The gray walls were high with engravings sculpted in. It had a cold elegance to it.

But Pu Tao was nervous for no reason. The elevator was close to arriving.

From an adult’s point of view, the hotel easily created a seductive fantasy.

She looked at Cheng Su silently. The man’s expression was his usual one and there was no change to it because of how he was in a new environment.

What messy thing am I thinking about?

In Pu Tao’s mind, she was covering up her face.

The elevator went up, and the metal walls reflected one tall and one short figure.

Pu Tao shifted her eyes, her cheeks were hot. She found something to say, “I heard Jin Xin say that you came here last night?”

Cheng Su made a “mhm” sound.

Pu Tao asked, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Cheng Su said, “I was afraid you would be so nervous that you can’t sleep and that you won’t even come to the con.”

Pu Tao protested, “Am I that much of a coward?”

“No?” He asked her with his eyes lowered to her.

Pu Tao raised her voice to justify herself. “No.”

Cheng Su smiled but said nothing more.

They walked out of the elevator and passed through a long hallway. Pu Tao looked around with curiosity, and finally made a comment, “I realize that the store you opened and the place you are staying at matches you very well.”

Very aristocratic, calm, respectable, and had a natural kind of elegance.

Cheng Su looked at her and said, “Like the person I am holding hands with.”

Pu Tao’s head shut down for a moment. “Huh?”

Cheng Su asked, “Do you want to ask again?”

“No, no.” She had heard clearly, but was embarrassed. “It’s… it’s all right.”

She was so deeply embarassed, but was becoming familiar with it and she didn’t mind the exaggeration.

Cheng Su chuckled. He stopped, let go of her hand, and took the room card out of his pants pocket.

We’re here?

Pu Tao looked at the wooden door and her heart was jumping up and down again.

Click. Cheng Su opened the door and walked in.

Pu Tao pulled back to the side of the door and hesitated. She wondered whether she should follow him.

Cheng Su noticed and looked back at her.

Pu Tao stuck her head in, and she was also meek. “Should I go in?”

Cheng Su did not answer.

Pu Tao tilted her head and smiled innocently. She acted like she did not want to bother him. “How about I wait outside? After all, it’s your private space.”

She had never been in the same room alone with the opposite sex, so she inevitably hesitated and did not dare to cross the line.

Cheng Su did not move, but said in a low voice, “You have guts.”

He was being sarcastic, and Pu Tao understood.

She rubbed the back of her neck. She did this when she was uncomfortable.

Cheng Su walked back and said, “Come in, why are you standing at the door like that?”

Then he grabbed her arm and pulled her over.

“Oh, hey…” Pu Tao did not expect his arm to be so strong that she would almost fall into his arms.

She struggled to stand up straight. Pu Tao folded her arms and forced herself to be calm.

Cheng Su stared at her and chuckled. “What are you afraid of? The door is open.”

Pu Tao straightened up her back. Not a lot of confidence could be heard in her voice. “I am not afraid, just strange. What is there for me to be afraid of?”

Cheng Su did not expose her. His chin motioned to a blue velvet sofa in the room. “Sit there and wait.”

“Oh.” Pu Tao obediently went over there.

Cheng Su really left the door open and went into the bathroom.

When the man completely came out of her field of vision Pu Tao rocked from side to side and kicked her legs up silently.

She really needed to let her feelings out!

Somehow, just being in the same space with Cheng Su made her feel more embarassed than normal. She was constantly shrieking and wailing in her heart.

When he came out again, Pu Tao was sitting up properly. However, her eyes were out of focus.

They made eye contact for a short moment. Cheng Su went to the bed and rolled up the charger. He put it into the duffel bag together with his toiletries bag, and then zipped it up neatly.

How can he be so handsome when he’s packing up his things?

Pu Tao’s heart shook when she watched him.

It was a pity that she was too timid to let him know her thoughts.

Cheng Su turned around and grabbed her attention, “Okay, let’s go down and I’ll check out.”

Pu Tao was suprised, “So fast?”

“Yeah, I don’t have much.” He stopped in front of her.

Pu Tao felt an alarming pressure from sitting. She quickly got up and looked for his hands. “Is there anything I can take and carry for you?”

Cheng Su’s hand carrying luggage did not move, but the other empty hand was placed in front of her. “Do you want to take it?”

Pu Tao grinned and held them with both hands like a trophy. “Got it, I’ll take it right away.”

How many times have they held hands?

She didn’t count, she didn’t want to, and it was probably countless times.
