The Last Sentence Part 2
After taking a shower and changing clothes, they went to the food market behind Xicai 1 .
Cheng Su was familiar with this place, and Pu Tao guessed, “Did you go to Xicai University?”
Cheng Su handed her the roasted pork brain 2 . “Did you just think of it?”
“No wonder you know Rong City so well.” Pu Tao suddenly realized it. “You might know the city better than me.”
Cheng Su followed her out of the stall. “You’re not from here?”
Pu Tao nodded: “My hometown is in Mian City. I stayed here after college.”
She sighed. “I never left home before I was 18, so I don’t like saying goodbye at the station. I couldn’t handle leaving my parents, and now I have another person like that, you.”
She always wanted to explain to Cheng Su that she could not control her feelings during the security check. It was excessive to shed tears like that, but it all happened for a reason. She was fragile, and she didn’t like parting from her loved ones.
Cheng Su slightly smiled. “So I have that privilege?”
“Hmm?”
“Because I am as important as your parents.”
“No, you’re almost there.”
“Oh, so I was happy for nothing.”
Pu Tao couldn’t stop laughing. ·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚ ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙
They found a small shop and sat down. They were surrounded by students, and they were inevitably immersed into the youthful atmosphere.
The lady boss brought out two bowls of yellow shaved ice.
Pu Tao scooped up with a small spoonful and put it into her mouth. It was sweet and cool.
She looked around and asked, “Did you often come here to eat?”
“Yeah, I basically went with my roommate,” Cheng Su said. “The person who came to pick you up today was my roommate.”
“Wow, so you guys are pretty close?”
“Yeah.”
Pu Tao remembered his major that he had mentioned before. “You used to study finance, but how did you open up a bookstore?”
“After graduation, I spent half a year at IFS 3 . I didn’t like it, so I went to open a shop, and now I work as a financial consultant at my roommate’s company.”
“Huh?”
“What I mean is, don’t let your imagination run wild. Even if the bookstore fails, I make enough to support a couple of people,” Cheng Su casually clarified. He added, “Plus a cat.”
Pu Tao put her hands on her head and rushed to deny, “ don’t mean that, my income… is fine to support myself. I’ll never drag you down…”
Cheng Su smiled and said, “I know.”
He put his hands on the table and sat with a more formal posture. “What about you? I came here on impulse. Did it affect you? Did you have a plan?”
They were already speaking openly, so Pu Tao didn’t hide it. “I’m saving money. I want to buy a small apartment. I’ve moved four times. Each roommate gets worse. I’m really fed up with spending my life renting. I’m going to buy one as soon as I can save enough for the down payment, and then I’ll get a loan.”
She shot him down without realizing it. Cheng Su frowned. “Am I not good?”
“Not including you!” Pu Tao quickly corrected herself. “You are my boyfriend, my lover. How can I carelessly generalize you as a roommate?”
“Oooh…” Cheng Su drew out his response, and asked with a smile, “How much money have you saved up?”
Pu Tao immediately kept her mouth shut and pretended to be deaf.
But Cheng Su still asked, “How much?”
Pu Tao rubbed her temples. “Not enough, but not too little.”
“What about a specific number?”
Pu Tao felt awkward and propped her cheeks with both hands. “I’m too embarrassed to say it.”
Cheng Su leaned forward and said, “Tell me quietly.”
Knowing that she could not escape this question, Pu Tao looked around and went over to whisper into his ear.
After listening to the amount she had saved, Cheng Su nodded and firmly said, “Not bad, how long have you been saving?”
“That’s it!” After getting his acknowledgement, Pu Tao immediately puffed up. She dug out a big mouthful of shaved ice and put it into her mouth. “I think I’ve done pretty good.”
Cheng Su was quiet for a moment. “I’m going to buy an apartment in Rong City. You pick it. I’ll transfer it to you after I buy the apartment, and only have your name on it.”
His words were so astonishing that Pu Tao choked on her food and coughed violently. What kind of person is he? He brought up buying a house like it’s going to the supermarket to buy onions.
Cheng Su pushed over a paper cup filled with water as if everything was normal. “If you don’t want it to be free, you can make a down payment with your savings, and pay the rest in monthly installments like with your original plan. But it won’t be a normal loan since I do not need interest.”
Pu Tao wrapped her hands around the cup. She was completely confused. “Why””
“Why what?”
“Why is it happening so suddenly?”
Cheng Su’s lip rose, and his voice let out a serene and trustworthy vibe, “I suddenly thought of it, and suddenly decided it. I didn’t think of kidnapping you with the house…”
He closed his eyes again and corrected himself, “Well, maybe I did have an idea like that. I admit it, but that’s not all.”
He looked back and smoothly said, “I just hope that by doing what I can, I can make you relax a bit.”
