Chapter 9: The All-Purpose Lolita Maid (Seeking Reviews and Collections)

9 min read2,211 words

"Tell me... your name, gender, age, where you're from, and who's in your family. Answer honestly."

Mu Fei sat on the sofa, wearing a pair of large shorts and a towel around his neck, and asked the little maid kneeling on the carpet in a stern voice, looking like a villain interrogating an innocent girl.

The little maid had already changed out of her maid outfit and was now wearing Mu Fei's T-shirt—Mu Fei didn't have any clothes suitable for a fourteen or fifteen-year-old girl, so he had to let her wear his.

Hearing Mu Fei's words, the little maid drew circles on the ground, her nose twitching, and her face showing dissatisfaction. "Brother, you've asked me this six times already..."

"Is that so? Have I asked that many times?" Mu Fei scratched his head. He didn't even know how many times he had asked, but no matter how many times he asked, the little maid always gave the same answer.

She said her name was Xu Xiaomeng, and she lived with her grandfather. She was Mu Fei's former neighbor who had moved away a long time ago, which was why Mu Fei didn't remember her. As for why she was here, she couldn't explain it herself.

But Mu Fei couldn't be convinced by her words. He had already seen that the maid doll he had brought back was indeed missing, and the strange sounds that night further confirmed his suspicion. This little maid was definitely not his former neighbor; she must have something to do with the maid doll, perhaps even being the doll that had grown larger. After all, her clothes and hairstyle were exactly the same as the doll's, but... that was just too absurd, right?

Mu Fei had been paying close attention. When Xu Xiaomeng answered his questions, she didn't blush, her heart didn't race, and her eyes didn't wander. She didn't seem to be lying, which meant there was only one possibility: she really didn't know what was going on.

Feeling frustrated, Mu Fei had been hoping she could explain the changes in his body, but it seemed unlikely. As he pushed up his glasses, he suddenly remembered something.

He took off his glasses and waved them in front of Xu Xiaomeng. "Do you know where these glasses came from?"

Xu Xiaomeng's eyes widened, and she crawled over like a kitten. Mu Fei's nose tingled, and he almost started bleeding. Although Xu Xiaomeng was slim, her chest was more impressive than some adult women. Mu Fei's T-shirt was too big for her, and when she lowered her head, the deep cleavage in her neckline revealed two plump, white mounds. Mu Fei, a pure and innocent young man, couldn't resist the temptation, and his little brother shamefully pitched a tent.

Mu Fei quickly turned his head away, covering his nose. He had already had three nosebleeds; another one might kill him from blood loss.

Xu Xiaomeng took the glasses from his hand and examined them. After a moment, she seemed to realize something. "I know."

Mu Fei turned back, his face full of anticipation. "What do you know?"

"These are your glasses."

"Bang!" Mu Fei lightly tapped her head, annoyed. "I know these are my glasses."

"I'm asking if you brought these glasses."

Xu Xiaomeng, in pain, held her head and thought hard. After a while, she slapped her hand on the ground.

"Did you remember?"

Xu Xiaomeng looked at Mu Fei and giggled, her eyes forming two beautiful crescents, her long lashes fluttering, looking very cute.

"I didn't remember."

"Bang." Mu Fei tapped her head again. "If you didn't remember, why are you laughing?"

"Ah~" Mu Fei sighed, rubbing his temples. It seemed impossible to get any information from Xu Xiaomeng. He didn't know what had happened to his body, but at least there were no adverse effects. The strange sounds last night were just about "strengthening" his body. Since it was just strengthening, it shouldn't be harmful, right? But the effects of the strengthening were impressive. He had been hit on the head in a fight earlier, but during the taxi ride, he had fully recovered without any pain. Now, his strength, reaction speed, and mind were all much better than before. Everything was improving.

After some self-consolation, Mu Fei felt a bit more at ease. "Forget it, I'll let you off today... In the future, well, where did you go?"

Mu Fei opened his eyes and realized the little maid who had been in front of him was gone. He turned around and saw her crouching in the corner, drawing circles with one hand and occasionally wiping away tears, mumbling to herself.

Mu Fei was speechless. This little maid was too sensitive. After just a few words, she had such strong resentment. It had been a tough day, so he decided to be lenient. "Xiaomeng, I was just joking with you."

As soon as he said that, Xu Xiaomeng pounced on Mu Fei, tears still on her face but smiling broadly. "I knew you wouldn't really scold me."

This girl, quick to cry and quick to laugh, was the easiest to comfort. Mu Fei thought, feeling helpless.

"Brother, are you hungry? Can Xiaomeng make dinner for you?" Xu Xiaomeng held Mu Fei's arm, looking at him expectantly.

Mu Fei felt a bit hungry, but looking at her, he doubted she could cook. "Can you... cook?"

Xu Xiaomeng pouted. "How can you look down on Xiaomeng like that?"

She pushed Mu Fei into his room, just like he had pushed her earlier. "Brother, rest for a while. I'll call you when it's ready. Don't come out before then." She winked at Mu Fei and closed the door with a click.

Mu Fei looked at the closed door, thinking this girl was really familiar. He was the owner of the house, but it felt like it was hers. He wanted to go out and check, but when he touched the doorknob, he remembered Xu Xiaomeng's smug face. He thought for a moment, stretched, and lay down on the bed. "Alright, I'll trust you once. Let's see what you can do."

Lying on the bed, Mu Fei couldn't relax. He didn't know what kind of dinner the little maid would make, but thinking of her cute and clumsy appearance, he couldn't help but smile. He was surprised by his own reaction. Since breaking up with Qi Ying, he had put on a smile, but he knew he had been suppressing his feelings. The pain was always there, making him feel suffocated. But after just a few hours with Xiaomeng, he felt much better.

"No wonder people say cute little maids can heal the wounds in one's heart. It seems to be true," Mu Fei thought, turning over and touching his guitar, which made a soft sound.

"Back then, I met Qi Ying because of this guitar." Mu Fei held the guitar, and scenes from his relationship with Qi Ying flashed through his mind: their first meeting, their first date, their first hand-holding, their first walk down a street together, and finally, the scene of her laughing as she got into someone else's car.

These scenes were like a tragic movie, and Mu Fei felt the pain in his heart. It was as if his heart had been cut out, washed, and tortured. The pain turned into bitterness, then coldness, and finally a burning sensation, as if he had experienced all the tortures. After a long time, Mu Fei finally stopped feeling the pain. He was numb, and the scenes no longer affected him. Although he was in tears, his face remained unchanged. He felt like he was watching a stranger, completely detached from the scenes. He knew he had finally let go.

Mu Fei wondered if he was too heartless. He had just broken up yesterday, and today he felt nothing. He had accused Qi Ying of being heartless, but was he any better?

But it was for the best. Everyone had the right to choose. Since she had decided to leave, he would bless her.

Just as Mu Fei thought this, a melody he had never heard before echoed in his mind. He was delighted and quickly took out a piece of paper to write it down.

Only those who had composed music knew that this was inspiration, which could be lost if not captured immediately.

Mu Fei wrote down the melody, read it twice, and then picked up his guitar. He played the notes, and at first, it was a bit awkward, but as he played more, the music became smoother and more beautiful, eventually forming a complete and moving melody.

As Mu Fei played, he was moved by the sadness in the music. The scene of Qi Ying leaving him coldly kept replaying in his mind, and the pain was unbearable. This real, experienced pain allowed Mu Fei to quickly perfect the half-finished melody. Each time he played, he would quickly modify and add to the parts that didn't sound right. After an hour, the main melody of a heart-wrenching love song was finally complete.

At that moment, the door to Mu Fei's room opened, and Xu Xiaomeng peeked in. "Brother, dinner is ready."

Mu Fei was surprised. He felt like he had just picked up the guitar a few minutes ago, but looking at the clock, he realized an hour had passed.

"I didn't expect you to be so capable. You made it so quickly, but don't rush. The taste shouldn't disappoint me." Mu Fei laughed, patted Xu Xiaomeng's head, put down the guitar, and walked out. But when he stepped out, he was shocked. Was this his home? It was completely transformed. The carpet was spotless, with no bread crumbs or paper scraps. The books, newspapers, and study materials that had been scattered were neatly arranged on the table. The kitchen appliances, fridge, and other utensils were spotless, reflecting light from a distance.

In the bathroom, the living items were polished to a shine, and even the school uniform he hadn't washed for a week, the rain-soaked T-shirt, and the maid outfit Xu Xiaomeng had worn were all clean and neatly hung on the clothesline. Even the underwear and socks he had been too lazy to wash were as good as new.

Xu Xiaomeng giggled, her eyes forming crescents. "Hehe, Brother, Xiaomeng did a good job, right?"

Mu Fei touched the TV, finding no dust, and nodded. "Clean, very clean, but it doesn't look like my home at all."

Xu Xiaomeng didn't get angry. She pushed him toward the kitchen. "Brother, come see the kitchen."

As soon as they entered the kitchen, Xu Xiaomeng bounced to the table. "Ta-da, please enjoy the luxurious dinner Xiaomeng made for you, big brother."

Mu Fei's mouth watered. On the table were four dishes: sweet and sour pork, fried chicken wings, stir-fried bean sprouts with three kinds of shredded vegetables, and sweet and sour fish. All of them were Mu Fei's favorites. In the middle was a cucumber and egg soup. The dishes were the best Mu Fei had ever seen, even better than those in a four-star hotel he had visited once.

As Mu Fei swallowed, Xu Xiaomeng had already picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork and brought it to his mouth. "Brother, open your mouth, ah~"

Wow, this little maid was too helpful. Mu Fei opened his mouth, and Xiaomeng fed him the bright, fragrant, and juicy sweet and sour pork. Mu Fei almost cried. It was delicious, the best he had ever tasted. He felt like the character in "God of Cookery" who said, "If I can't eat such delicious sweet and sour pork for the rest of my life, what will I do?!"

...

After dinner, Mu Fei burped contentedly and was about to wipe his mouth when Xu Xiaomeng handed him a tissue and gently wiped the food and oil from the corners of his mouth.

Actually, Mu Fei had eaten most of the meal, while Xu Xiaomeng had only eaten a little. She mostly watched him eat, her hands supporting her chin, smiling as if his enjoyment was her greatest satisfaction.

Mu Fei couldn't find any fault with Xu Xiaomeng's cooking. He patted her head. "Xiaomeng is very capable. You did a great job with the housework and the cooking."

Hearing Mu Fei's praise, Xu Xiaomeng closed her eyes like a cat, enjoying it.

"Brother, if you like it, Xiaomeng will cook for you every day, but the fridge doesn't have enough ingredients." Xu Xiaomeng said, tracing her cute face with her long, white finger.

Mu Fei was stunned, as if he had realized something terrible. "Xiaomeng, did you use all the meat in the fridge?"

Xu Xiaomeng's smile grew wider, her eyes forming crescents. "Yes!!"

"Wow, that meat was supposed to last a month. How will I survive the next half-month? Sob..."

"Ah? I didn't know the meat couldn't be eaten. Brother, I'm sorry!! Ah, don't cry, brother."

Thus, Mu Fei and the lolita Xu Xiaomeng began their happy cohabitation, but Mu Fei felt that his life would not be as peaceful as before.
