Chapter 84

The chill from the ring surged like a tide, and Han Fei, after entering room 1084, immediately closed the door.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

“The sound first appeared on the ninth floor; the ghost lives on the ninth floor!”

Leaning against the door, Han Fei was now in a very dangerous situation.

The eighth floor was different from the sixth floor; these rooms contained particularly terrifying things.

The ghost inside the room could appear at any moment, and the door was blocked by that monster outside. Han Fei's heart began to race uncontrollably.

“If it doesn’t work, I’ll have to log out.”

Feeling the coldness from his fingers, Han Fei slowly squatted down and carefully examined room 1084.

This room had been renovated, with some high-end furniture inside. One of the bedrooms had an expensive piano, and another was decorated like a princess room, with a pink theme, and many cute dolls on the bed and floor.

At first glance, there seemed to be nothing scary, but for some reason, Han Fei felt very uncomfortable all over.

“I heard Meng Shi say that the building manager once warned her not to go to the eighth floor casually.”

After a long wait, the coldness on Han Fei's fingers gradually dissipated. He adjusted his breathing and slowly approached the peephole.

Leaning on the security door, Han Fei looked out. The peephole of room 1084 seemed to be blocked by something, with some red and black impurities.

He slowly adjusted the angle and looked carefully, but the impurities in the peephole blocked his view.

“Who smeared blood on the peephole?” As Han Fei was thinking, the red impurities suddenly flipped over like a ball pressed underwater, revealing another side.

A black pupil was stuck in the peephole, and a bloodshot eye blinked lightly.

“There’s an eye in the peephole?!”

Han Fei immediately stepped back, unable to imagine that he had just made eye contact with that eye at such a close distance.

“I waited until the chill from the ring dissipated before I went to check. By then, the ghost on the ninth floor had already left, so the eye in the peephole isn’t his.”

Han Fei felt that he couldn’t stay here any longer; the feeling of extreme discomfort was getting stronger.

He reached out to grab the door lock and tried to open the door, but suddenly realized that the security door wouldn’t budge at all!

“It’s not locked, so why can’t I open it?”

A huge fear descended instantly, and Han Fei knew he was being watched.

“If I can’t open this door, even if I log out of the game now, I will still log back in to this room next time. Without the option to log out, I might be even more passive.”

Clenching his teeth, Han Fei was not someone who gave up easily; otherwise, he wouldn’t have survived this long.

Looking at the terrifying peephole, Han Fei made a move that no ordinary person would dare to do.

He lay down on the door again and looked through the peephole.

To defeat the enemy, he needed to understand it. He wanted to figure out what kind of ghost was hiding in room 1084 on the eighth floor.

Knowing that there was an eye in the peephole, Han Fei still leaned in to continue observing, hoping to find answers in that eye.

Han Fei was prepared to make eye contact, but when he looked again, the eye was gone.

“The door still won’t open, but the eye is gone.”

Without making any rash moves, Han Fei stood at the door and used his exceptional memory to memorize the positions of all the furniture and items in the room.

“There are no memorial photos, talismans, or altars, and no bloodstains or obviously abnormal things in the room. If I have to say something strange, it’s that there are many dolls in this room.”

The dolls were scattered on the bed, thrown on the floor, and some were even torn, revealing the yellow stuffing inside.

“Could the ghost be attached to the dolls?”

Han Fei didn’t dislike dolls, but in this situation, he felt fear towards anything human-like.

“Drip, drip, drip...”

In the dead silence, the sound of water droplets suddenly appeared. Han Fei followed the sound and found that the faucet in the bathroom was dripping.

“The faucet was fine when I came in.”

He slowly moved to the bathroom door and glanced at the mirror and the shower corner before entering, as these places were most likely to hide spirits.

“Is the faucet not fully closed?” Han Fei turned the knob and found that the faucet wasn’t just not fully closed; it wasn’t closed at all: “The faucet is clearly not closed, so why isn’t water coming out? Is it blocked by something?”

He leaned down and saw a bloodshot eye slide out of the faucet, directly flushed down the drain by the tap water.

Everything happened too quickly, and Han Fei didn’t even have time to react.

“Was the faucet blocked by an eye?”

He was very close to the faucet when the eye fell, and it seemed to turn slightly, as if it had looked at him.

“What’s wrong with this room?”

Han Fei finally understood why he felt so uncomfortable. It was as if eyes were watching him from all around.

Goosebumps appeared on the back of his neck, and Han Fei was very anxious, but he didn’t show any fear on his face, knowing that being afraid wouldn’t change anything.

Slowly stepping out of the bathroom, which was heavily filled with yin energy, Han Fei walked to the living room and picked up a fruit knife from the coffee table.

“The system can identify special items I touch. When that eye appears again, I’ll try to touch it.”

Han Fei was forced into a corner, so he came up with this extremely risky method.

Since the door couldn’t be opened and he couldn’t escape, he could only search for clues inside the room.

After a quick look around the living room, Han Fei walked to the bedroom door.

He looked at the princess room filled with dolls and didn’t have the courage to enter, fearing that the dolls would suddenly come to life and attack him.

Avoiding the princess room, Han Fei went to the other bedroom door.

This bedroom was filled with things, including a piano, bookshelf, single bed, and various paintings on the walls.

“Something’s not right.”

Han Fei’s gaze swept the room, and he noticed a pillow under the single bed, as if someone often hid under the bed.

Gripping the fruit knife tightly, Han Fei entered the bedroom and bent down to retrieve the pillow. Suddenly, he noticed many nail marks on the edge of the bed.

Following the marks, he slowly extended his head under the bed and was surprised to find that the bed frame was densely covered with the same sentence: "It’s watching me!"
