Su Mu casually took out a set of casual clothes from the cabinet. After some thought, he grabbed a backpack and put those bank cards and ID cards in it. When he was fully dressed, he left the room with his phone.

The environment of the community was good. It just rained in the morning, the verdant green trees were washed and looked fresh, and the air was filled with the smell of moist earth and the refreshing fragrance of vegetation.

When he came out, he didn’t hurry to leave, but deliberately took out his phone and took a photo of the apartment building behind him.

He’s fine during the day, but at night, he has no sense of direction at all and couldn’t tell east from west. He was afraid that he might come back late and not find his home.

After saving the photo, Su Mu opened the navigation app to find his location, and then searched the information of this residential complex on his mobile phone according to the name of the community marked above.

The place where the original owner lived was on the outskirts of the university town. Although it was somewhat remote and far from the city center, the property prices were not cheap at all. It was considered a high-end residential area.

After browsing through the information about the complex, he returned to the navigation and zoomed in on the map, carefully studying the nearby streets and shops. After noting them all down, he put away his phone and headed towards the nearest east gate.

Because it was a Qingming holiday, there were quite a few people coming and going. When a few girls passed by him, they frequently turned their heads.

Su Mu immediately became nervous and instinctively squeezed his phone. Fortunately, those girls didn’t come over to greet him, they just smiled friendly smiles.

He followed a young couple and saw the guy clicked on his phone to open an app, and the door automatically opened with a ‘creak’ sound.

The same app was on the original owner’s phone too. It should be something like an electronic key card, so he secretly noted it down.

Several cars were parked outside. Su Mu stood there, and only when the wind blew on him did he realize that he didn’t know the person named Sun Hao on the phone at all.

He hurriedly took out his phone and clicked on WeChat.

Thank God, although this world was different from his world, many basic things were the same, such as the name of cities, such as the apps on the phone…

Otherwise, he really doesn’t know what to do.

There were very few people in the original owner’s WeChat. Su Mu’s index finger swiped down the list of contacts and it was over in an instant.

He thought it might be troublesome to find Sun Hao’s WeChat account, but unexpectedly, that person’s WeChat name was directly saved as ‘孙昊’ (Sun Hao).

Su Mu directly tapped on his profile picture and entered his Moments (the feature on WeChat where people share posts).

Although Sun Hao’s profile picture was not himself, there was a selfie in his Moments. The person in the photo was quite recognizable, his hair was shaved very short, and his face looked a bit fierce.

Su Mu scrolled down and found that the things Sun Hao posted were very complicated, but apart from that selfie, there was basically nothing useful.

He skimmed through and then exited Moments, proceeding to open their chat history.

Although there was not much content in the chat between the two on WeChat, there was a lot of useful information in it.

The original owner’s parents were also divorced, but unlike Su Mu, the original owner was granted by the court to live with his mother.

After the couple divorced, he was taken abroad by his mother, where he has been living all these years. However, the original owner has always wanted to return to the country and has been making trouble for a long time because of this matter.

The house he was living in now was bought for him by the original owner’s mother so that he could have a place to stay when he returned. He had been living here since he came back last month.

Su Mu in this world seemed to be quite reclusive, hardly going out and having very few friends. After returning to China, he only had some contact with Sun Hao.

As for Sun Hao, he was a distant cousin of the original owner. The two hadn’t had much interaction before, but this person still took good care of him. He would occasionally send a WeChat message to ask him if he was short of anything, or ask him to go to his place and have a meal together.

After reading all this, Su Mu inexplicably felt relieved.

The original owner had just returned from abroad, wasn’t very close to his relatives, was reclusive, and lived alone…

From this point of view, the people here probably didn’t know much about him, so maybe he wouldn’t expose anything.

After rejoicing, Su Mu flipped through the chat records between the original owner and other people. He was looking at them seriously, when he suddenly felt something approaching him quickly. He took two steps back reflexively and looked up, only to see a car stopping right at his feet. Fortunately, the driver was skilled. Although the speed of the car was fast, it didn’t touch him.

The car window was rolled down, and the person inside waved at him, “Get in.”

Su Mu glanced at the sports car with beautiful lines and aggressive colors, and then stared at the man for a few seconds. After making sure that he was very similar to the photo of Sun Hao he had just seen, he carefully got into the car.

Sun Hao glanced at him, “Just woke up? It’s good to live alone. Wake up whenever you want, come back whenever you want, and no one’s going to nag at you if you don’t go home…”

Su Mu didn’t dare to say anything, just nodded upon hearing the words.

Sun Hao seemed accustomed to his introverted personality and didn’t mind his attitude. Seeing that Su Mu’s complexion was not good, he casually threw a bottle of water at him and said while driving, “Did you drink too much last night?”

Su Mu was stunned, remembering the severe headache in the morning, and only realized it; he had a hangover! No wonder his throat felt uncomfortable early in the morning, and his head felt like exploding.

He thanked Sun Hao in a low voice and then unscrewed the water bottle, taking a few sips to ease the discomfort.

Sun Hao noticed that he looked out of sorts and reminded him, “If I were you, I’d take it easy recently. If you make the old man angry, your marriage will be completely ruined…”

Su Mu, who was thinking about how to proceed, heard this and spat out the water in shock.

“F*ck, it’s so dirty, wipe it off quickly!” Sun Hao gave him a disgusted look.

Su Mu coughed, turned around to find some tissues, and finally managed to calm down. Then, he asked anxiously, “My, my marriage? What marriage?”

Sun Hao rolled his eyes, “Yes, yours! Your marriage! I advise you not to get too excited. This ‘arranged marriage’ thing isn’t reliable. Besides, the other person doesn’t acknowledge it. You are the only one carrying the burden…”

Su Mu held the water bottle with both hands, lowered his head, and his mind quickly raced; the original owner had an arranged marriage with someone, and he had liked that person for many years…

Seeing him looking frail and weak, Sun Hao, who was initially in the mood to tease, swallowed his words when he noticed his appearance.

After all, they were relatives, so he couldn’t say too harsh words.

Without Sun Hao’s endless chatter, the car became quiet, and the atmosphere suddenly turned a little awkward.

Su Mu had many questions, but he didn’t dare to ask them rashly. Seeing that Sun Hao was no longer talking, he turned his head slightly, pretending to look out the window at the scenery.

Sun Hao also seemed to sense that the atmosphere was not quite right, so he casually played some music. The soothing rhythm spread through the car, easing Su Mu’s nervousness.

Because it was still on holiday, there was a lot of traffic on the road, and the car wasn’t driving fast. It took quite a while before they finally arrived at a nice residential complex.

Sun Hao parked the car in the underground garage. When he opened the car door, he noticed that Su Mu didn’t respond and urged, “Aren’t you getting out?”

Su Mu let out an ‘oh’, and followed him into the elevator.

Throughout the journey, Su Mu felt anxious and uneasy, even wildly guessing whether Grandpa Su would look similar to his own grandfather. However, when he opened the door and entered the room, he realized that he was thinking too much.

Grandpa Su not only does not look like his grandfather, but also has a completely different taste.

The house wasn’t small, and it was exquisitely decorated in a traditional Chinese style. Even the bowls and cups on the cabinet were unusual and intricately detailed, obviously not ordinary items.

Su Mu only gave it a quick glance but still felt that this old man not only had a refined taste but also had a lot of money.

“Why, if I don’t enroll you, you won’t come here?!” Grandpa Su, who was sitting firmly on the sofa, glared at Su Mu, picked up his cane and was about to hit him on the shoulder, but halfway through, he saw Su Mu just standing there foolishly without dodging. His hand paused, and the cane turned to a corner in an instant, returning to Grandpa Su’s side.

Sun Hao greeted Grandpa Su, and seeing that he looked unhappy, he turned his head and walked aside, afraid that the anger might be directed at him.

Seeing Sun Hao walking towards the balcony, Su Mu’s gaze followed, only to find that there was a black Chinese pastoral dog nestled on the balcony. Although it was big, it was very docile. When it saw him looking over, it tilted its head with its ears perked up, then continued to lie there basking in the sun.

Grandpa Su became angry when he saw that he was absent-minded. He glared at him and scolded: “I don’t care what purpose you have for entering the Imperial University, and I don’t care how you slacked off in your days abroad. Now that you’re in, study diligently, don’t cause trouble all the time and embarrass me!”

Su Mu immediately withdrew his gaze and nodded obediently.

Grandpa Su snorted, then continued to “educate” his grandson with a stern expression.

After listening for a while, the heavy stone in Su Mu’s heart was finally lifted.

Imperial University is one of the top universities in the country, very similar to B University in his world. The original owner made a fuss for a long time before Grandpa Su pulled some strings to transfer his file there. However, due to certain reasons, he didn’t manage to start school in early March and had delayed until now. But for Su Mu, this was a good thing, because no one at Imperial University knew the original owner.

“The school has arranged a dormitory for you. I know you don’t want to live with others, but for the next few weeks, endure it and interact more with your classmates and roommates. Once you build better relationships, you can move out,” Grandpa Su said.

Su Mu glanced at the ruddy-faced old man and his heart moved slightly.

“Your dad is on a business trip and won’t be able to come back in a few days. I’ll have Ah Hao accompany you to report to the school. His school is also in the university town, not far from yours. If you need anything or have any issues in the future, just give him a call and let him run errands for you.”

Sun Hao frowned, “Second Grandfather, I’m very busy!”

“Bullsh*t! You’re idling around all day, only knowing how to hang out at bars! Your dad called me a few days ago, wanting you to transfer to another major…”

Sun Hao immediately surrendered, “I’m not busy.”

Grandpa Su ignored him and gave Su Mu a few more instructions. Seeing that Su Mu’s attitude was honest and he showed no signs of impatience, Grandpa Su finally let him go and allowed the kitchen aunt to serve the dishes.

Su Mu sat at the dining table, listening carefully to Grandpa Su’s lecture for half an hour until he repeatedly promised not to cause any trouble. Only then did Grandpa Su release him.

The way back was even more congested than when he came. Su Mu didn’t know what to say, so he simply pretended to doze off with his eyes closed.

Sun Hao felt that Su Mu had been scolded quite miserably by the old man. Although the two were not that familiar, they could be regarded as a pair of troubled brothers, so he didn’t tease him anymore.

When the car stopped at the entrance of the community, Su Mu pretended to have just woken up, rubbed his eyes, and was about to get off. Before leaving, he remembered that Sun Hao would accompany him to report to the university tomorrow, so he softly thanked him.

Sun Hao responded with an ‘en’, glanced at his somewhat long hair, and said disdainfully, “You’re reporting tomorrow, you don’t want to go to school with such a hairstyle, do you?”

Su Mu thought for a while before remembering his current appearance.

The original owner’s hair was indeed a bit long and needs to be trimmed.

Seeing that he had listened, Sun Hao’s expression softened a bit. He took out a cigarette from his pocket, put it in his mouth, lit it, and took a deep drag.

“I actually admire you. You said the two of you didn’t have much of a relationship, and it’s been so many years without contact. Why are you still so hung up on him?” Sun Hao said with a hint of meaning.

Su Mu thought to himself; I don’t know either.

Seeing that he didn’t respond, Sun Hao clicked his tongue while holding the cigarette and said, “Forget it, although I’m not very familiar with you either, we’re relatives after all. Let me give you some advice before starting school. Be honest at school, don’t naively expose your relationship with him. Many people in the school like him, you would become a target by being too open. If something happens, he won’t even care about you, and who knows, he might even use this opportunity to break the engagement since it was decided by the two old men without his consent…”

Su Mu heard something else from his words. He thought about it and tentatively asked, “Many people like her?”

Sun Hao fell silent for a long time. After a while, he blew a smoke ring and said meaningfully, “Not many, but very, very many…”
