Tao Hong!

In a white dress, with a slender figure and a stubborn gaze, the figure that suddenly appeared in the scene was none other than Tao Hong, who had been traveling with them all along.

Zhou Jia was taken aback by the sight, his face full of confusion:

"What are you doing?"

"What are you all doing?" Tao Hong's face was filled with agitation. She stretched out her hands to block the others, shouting loudly as if protecting a calf:

"It's just a small animal, why do you have to kill it?"

"Miss." Among the crowd, a tall and robust middle-aged man frowned and spoke:

"This thing is just an animal, it has no human nature. Move aside, let us kill it first."

As he spoke, he took a step closer.

The small monster was clearly very afraid of him. Seeing this, it shrank back and hid behind Tao Hong.

Its cautious movements seemed to trigger the maternal instinct hidden within Tao Hong. She straightened her neck and glared at the middle-aged man:

"You know it's just an animal, it doesn't know what it should or shouldn't do. Don't you understand?"

"Killing a small animal that hasn't even grown up is too cruel!"

As a woman, Tao Hong was petite and physically weak, but she did not back down in front of a group of bloodied men.

Her courage was commendable.

Unfortunately…

"What the hell is wrong with you?" someone shouted angrily:

"Get out of the way, or don't blame me for being impolite."

"Miss." An old man in a Zhongshan suit stomped his foot and said:

"This animal eats people!"

"Exactly, why are you protecting it now?"

"Your kindness is misplaced!"

"What are you all doing?" Seeing the crowd approach, Tao Hong's face showed panic. She took a step back but still stretched out her hands to protect the young beast behind her:

"Animals have spirits too, how can you just…"

"Puff!"

A strange sound interrupted her words.

Tao Hong's body stiffened, and she slowly lowered her head. She saw a sharp claw emerge from her chest, holding a warm, beating heart.

"Swish!"

The small wolf-headed monster pulled out Tao Hong's heart and swallowed it whole, chewing it while glaring fiercely at the crowd.

"Roar!"

"Roar roar!"

The cries were threatening.

"Damn!" someone roared:

"Little beast, die!"

Although they disapproved of Tao Hong's actions, she was still a human. Her death in front of everyone caused indignation among the others.

The crowd rushed forward, using fists, feet, and sticks. In a blink, they killed the small wolf-headed monster.

Tao Hong's body, now without a heart, swayed, her eyes gradually losing their light. Finally, her legs gave way, and she stumbled and fell to the ground.

In her line of sight was the lifeless small beast.

She opened her mouth, but her vision turned black.

"Tao Hong!"

Su Qiang rushed over, his face full of regret.

He was about the same age as Tao Hong and was also unmarried. They had chatted and laughed along the way, and he had even thought about taking their relationship further.

Now…

It was too late.

Zhou Jia also looked pained.

After all, they had talked a lot along the way. How could she just die like that?

"Sir." The tall and robust middle-aged man who had just killed the small beast walked over:

"Are you also from the Pan Mountain Road?"

"Yes!" Zhou Jia's eyes lit up, suppressing his grief over Tao Hong's death, and asked urgently:

"Brother, you are also from the Pan Mountain Road. Do you know where we are now? How can we get back?"

"Ah!" The man smiled bitterly and wiped the blood from his face:

"We have only been here for a short time. The sky has already changed, and there is no way back. Who knows what kind of place this is."

"And these beasts…"

He pointed to the wolf-headed monster on the ground:

"We don't know where they came from. Our convoy of over ten people was almost wiped out by them. Fortunately, there were others nearby, and we managed to kill them together."

"It seems you don't know anything either."

Hearing this, Zhou Jia's expression darkened:

"We came by bus, originally thinking we had a car accident, but who would have thought…"

"Ah!"

Both sides compared their information and found that before coming here, they had all been obscured by strange fog and then ended up in this place.

However, unlike the bus passengers…

Most of the people here had not encountered danger when they appeared, with only a few accidentally getting their clothes torn by the car windows.

When asked about the wolf-headed monsters, their experiences were different.

They had encountered a pack of wolves, initially suffering losses, but with the help of nearby people, they managed to fight back and kill them successfully.

"By the way."

The man spoke:

"My name is Huang Jinfu, I work in security in the city. You killed a monster, and you should have noticed that your strength has increased, right?"

"That's right." Zhou Jia nodded and waved the frying pan in his hand, causing a whistling sound.

He was now confident that even without the frying pan, he could probably handle a wolf-headed monster on his own.

"Killing monsters can increase your strength?"

This was the first time Su Qiang had heard this, his eyes lit up, and he looked at Zhou Jia with envy.

"Not only does it increase your strength, but it can also heal your injuries." Huang Jinfu pointed to a fat man in the crowd and said:

"Fat Han has killed three monsters, the most here. His strength is probably already greater than a strongman's."

Three?

Zhou Jia had killed two, but it was largely due to luck. He never thought there was someone here who could kill three in a row.

His gaze, naturally, was filled with admiration.

"Extraordinary Man!"

As he spoke, a clear voice rang out, calling his nickname.

Looking in the direction of the voice, he saw a man and two women looking over. One of the women was waving excitedly.

"Chen Hui!"

Zhou Jia's face lit up, and he hurried over:

"Why are you here?"

"Bad luck!"

Chen Hui and Zhou Jia were classmates in high school, sitting next to each other, and they had a good relationship. They had maintained contact over the years.

After a few years, Chen Hui had changed a lot.

She wore a short denim skirt and a fashionable hoodie, accentuating her tall and slender figure, especially her smooth, white legs, which were very eye-catching.

However, this outfit was definitely not suitable for the forest.

"This is my boyfriend Cheng Qi, and this is my college roommate Lei Lei, whom I told you about." Meeting an old friend, Chen Hui was both moved and happy:

"I never thought I would meet you here."

"Ah!"

Zhou Jia sighed and greeted the two.

Unlike the straightforward and provocatively dressed Chen Hui, Lei Lei had a delicate appearance and wore a embroidered long dress, giving her a gentle and mild demeanor.

She had heard about Zhou Jia from Chen Hui and had even planned to set them up.

However, since their universities were in different cities, it was just talk, and nothing came of it.

Now, looking at Zhou Jia, she sighed even more.

Zhou Jia's physique was decent, but his appearance was very ordinary, and he seemed somewhat awkward. Even if she had introduced him, she wouldn't have agreed.

Cheng Qi nodded, acknowledging him.

"Zhou Jia!"

Not long after, Huang Jinfu walked over:

"We discussed it, and it's too late to go back to the bus. Besides, there's no doctor here."

"We can only…"

"Wait until tomorrow morning to go and check."

Zhou Jia looked up at the sky. The sun was about to set, and the forest behind them was pitch black. In this situation, he couldn't possibly find his way back.

He nodded in agreement:

"Alright, I'm just worried that Doctor Qin and the others will be anxious."

"There's nothing we can do about it." Huang Jinfu shook his head, his face full of worry:

"We don't even know where we are. It looks like we are probably not on Earth anymore. We can only take one step at a time."

With that, he walked back to the crowd, hands behind his back.

Zhou Jia opened his mouth, wanting to say something but stopped.

In this place, there was no good place to sleep, so the group split up into small groups.

Everything that happened today was too shocking. Despite his usual energy, Zhou Jia couldn't help but feel drowsy. He leaned against a tree and fell into a deep sleep.

He didn't know how long he had been sleeping when a slight tug on his sleeve woke him up.

"Zhou Jia, look over there."

Lei Lei lowered her voice and whispered:

"Those dead people, are they…"

"Alive?"
