Chapter 5

After registering as friends with Miu and Sei-nee, I opened the system screen and checked my Sense status.
First, my Senses are like this:
【Bow Lv3】【Hawk's Eye Lv2】【Magic Talent Lv1】【Magic Power Lv1】【Alchemy Lv1】【Enchantment Lv1】【Taming Lv1】【Synthesis Lv1】【Mixing Lv1】【Crafting Knowledge Lv1】
In other words, they are completely underdeveloped. Miu is already at Sword Lv5 and Armor Lv3. She must have also been developing her Magic Power by occasionally using healing and light magic. Sei-nee has Magic Talent Lv3, Magic Power Lv3, Water Magic Lv5, and Magic Power Recovery Lv2, which makes it clear how low my overall Sense levels are.
I sat in the town's outskirts and started experimenting.
First, I tried Alchemy Sense.
The characteristic of this Sense is material conversion. For example, turning iron into gold. It's a Sense that's truly like alchemy.
I had fifty each of gallstones, furs, and bones obtained from herbivorous beasts. These were thanks to the sisters.
I activated Alchemy with ten gallstones.
The result was a single medicinal stone. Well, at least the gallstones turned into medicine. Yeah.
Additionally, when I used ten furs for alchemy, I got a large fur, which was the size of two regular furs.
The bones turned into bone powder, and somehow, ten bones became twenty. Why?
However, this experiment also used Magic Power, which increased my Magic Power Sense to Lv2. My Alchemy Sense is still at Lv1.
Alchemy's material conversion can be divided into two types: higher and lower material conversion. For higher materials like gallstones and furs, the conversion rate is 10%. This means ten items become one higher item.
For lower materials like bone powder, the conversion rate is 200%. As my Sense grows, the conversion efficiency will improve, but currently, converting bone powder back to bones results in two bones. I want to level up my Alchemy Sense, but I don't have many items left, so I'll try Enchantment.
Enchantment is a Sense that increases status, similar to enchantments or buffs in RPGs.
I tried casting Enchantment on my body.
My MP was almost depleted, and the effect was a 1% increase in attack power, which lasted only sixty seconds. It was a very minor effect. However, the high MP consumption means my Magic Power will grow. I waited for my MP to recover and tried enchanting various things.
I enchanted my body with defense and speed enchantments, and my bow with an attack enchantment. The effects usually wore off quickly, but sitting and waiting allowed my MP to recover quickly.
Before I knew it, my Magic Talent had grown to Lv2, and my Magic Power to Lv4. It seems that applying load or consuming a lot leads to growth.
There are three types of enchantments: ATK for attack, DEF for defense, and SPEED for speed. As my Sense level increases, the effects will become stronger, the duration will extend, and more types will become available. If I keep enchanting things, I should reach around Lv10.
Taming is currently a dead skill. As Miu said, it's for taming monsters and making them servants, but I can't do that yet. I can't defeat them alone.
Synthesis and Mixing require items. Hmm, I don't have any items. What should I do?
At that moment, a chat message came in.
People who know my email address can chat with me in the game.
The sender was Kousuke.
"Hey, are you logged in?"
"Yeah, what's up? I'm logged in."
"Then, can we meet now? To register as friends. By the way, my name is now Taku."
"Got it. Where should we meet...?"
While waiting for Kousuke, I continued enchanting and leveled up one.
"Hey, Jun. Where are you?"
"I'm the character named Yun. I have black hair and I'm currently enchanting."
When you enchant, your body takes on the color specific to that enchantment. Red for attack, blue for defense, and yellow for speed.
"Oh, Yun... Why are you a female character?"
"...I don't know. It's a machine error."
"No, you look way more beautiful than the last time I saw you. You're a cute girl, though you don't have any chest."
"Hmph!"
I punched him in the gut with an attack enchantment. The hard armor deflected my punch, and my hand hurt instead.
"I care, too. You're a hardcore gamer."
"Whatever. But why the name Yun? It's completely a girl's name."
"It's a typo."
I know. I usually have a neutral face, but with the adjustments, my eyes are larger, my body has a curve, and my butt is bigger. Anyone would think I'm a girl.
"Imagine your sister calling you 'big sister.' It sends shivers down your spine."
"My condolences."
"Even worse, if I deliberately pick up trash Senses, my sister will demand a change."
"No, it's your fault for picking up trash Senses."
Damn, that's why hardcore gamers focus on game efficiency.
"By the way, how are your Senses now?"
"Like this."
I showed Taku my Sense status.
His first reaction was this.
"Wow, that's bad."
"I'm going to cry! Is it really that bad!?"
"Yeah, the Bow is a symbol of inefficiency among combat Senses. Alchemy is also highly inefficient. And Taming alone, you should focus on leveling something to Lv10 quickly."
"Ugh... I can't earn money in combat. I only have 130G."
"Are you secretly playing with restrictions?"
Absolutely not.
"Shit. My sister demands a change, and Sei-nee just smiles awkwardly. Maybe my character doesn't fit me. Maybe my trash Senses are giving off a trash aura?"
"No way. Well, you're a cool beauty compared to the laid-back beauty and the energetic beauty. No one talks to you because they're intimidated. You have quite a sharp gaze."
"Shut up."
There's no way. I looked around, and everyone turned their faces away.
...Oh, it's a coincidence. A coincidence. Anyway, the current problem is the lack of funds. I can't even buy arrows.
"Hey, do you have any advice for efficient money-making?"
"Hmm. Do you mean in terms of levels or money?"
"Both. I need funds."
Taku crossed his arms and thought, while I glowed blue from the enchantment. It was a strange combination.
"There is. If you don't want to fight, it's good to process and sell gathering items in the west."
"Got it, thanks. I'll try that."
"What do you want to do? Do you need help?"
"No, thanks for the advice. I probably couldn't do it alone."
"It's no big deal. Let's be friends. I'll help you level up when I have time. I invited you, after all."
Damn, in real life, he only causes me trouble, but in the game, he's reliable. Damn it.
"Got it. Just one thing. Return my homework soon."
With that, I headed to the west gate. My goal was gathering items.
