4 min read918 words
"Brother, can you hurry up?" A man dressed in an odd manner complained to the man behind him.
Hearing the odd-dressed man's words, the man behind him smiled slightly and said, "What's the rush? The scenery at the waist of Mount Huang is so beautiful, why are you in such a hurry to climb to the top!"
"Kao! It's still pitch black, you can't see the scenery at all! Brother, showing off isn't done like this! If you don't hurry up, we won't see the sunrise on Mount Huang!" The odd-dressed man hit back mercilessly.
Feeling embarrassed, the man behind him scratched the back of his head and didn't say anything more. He glared at the odd-dressed man and then started climbing the steep Mount Huang. Before long, the two had already reached the designated spot for watching the sunrise on Mount Huang.
Since today was not a suitable day for watching the sunrise, there weren't many people on the viewing platform. Despite this, the two were still very excited, as it was their first time watching a sunrise, and especially a sunrise in the mountains.
As time passed, the first ray of light of the day appeared on the horizon. However, what was strange was that this ray of light was not the usual red, but a golden light with a hint of purple.
"Hey! Chen Peng, is this the color of the sunrise? It doesn't seem to match what's in the books!" Chen Peng was the odd-dressed man.
Hearing his companion's question, Chen Peng, who was already frowning, frowned even deeper. "Brother Lu Chen, you were known as a walking Baidu at school. If you don't know, how could I possibly know! Let's just wait and see! Maybe we'll get an answer in a bit." Chen Peng finished speaking and then looked back at the strange ray of light on the horizon.
The man called Lu Chen could only smile helplessly and then also turned his gaze to the ray of light on the horizon.
Time slowly passed, and the sun slowly rose. Gradually, the purple light on the horizon became more intense. Suddenly, a figure actually appeared in the purple light!
Lu Chen widened his eyes, unable to believe that a figure had appeared in the sun. He muttered, "How can there be a figure in the sun? How can there be a figure in the sun!"
"What? You said there's a figure in the sunrise!" Hearing Lu Chen's words, Chen Peng immediately widened his eyes and then touched Lu Chen's head, muttering to himself, "No fever! Why is he talking nonsense? Could it be from reading too many novels and having hallucinations?"
Lu Chen, upon hearing this, rolled his eyes. "Kao! You're the one with a fever! Don't believe me? Look for yourself!" He then pointed to the sunrise.
"What! You saw it, right! Still saying I have a fever!" Lu Chen said with a smug look.
"Sigh! You say you don't have a fever, but I think you're not just feverish, you're seriously ill!" Chen Peng said with a worried look.
"It's clearly there." Lu Chen said, and as he spoke, he also looked back at the sunrise. But as soon as he looked, he was stunned! "Huh? It's gone? Could I really be feverish? That doesn't make sense! I must have had a hallucination from waking up too early this morning. No, I need to go back and get some more sleep after watching the sunrise!"
After thinking this, Lu Chen continued to watch the sunrise. In just a moment, the sun had already revealed half of its face. At this point, the sun was a deep red, with not a hint of purple! Gradually, the sun rose higher, and the unique and beautiful scenery of Mount Huang became clearer. However, due to what had just happened, Lu Chen had no interest in appreciating these beautiful views. He bid farewell to Chen Peng and took the cable car back to the hotel at the foot of the mountain, pulling the covers over his head to sleep.
When Lu Chen woke up, the outside was once again dotted with stars. He looked at Chen Peng, who was snoring loudly in bed, and sighed softly. Then he went out alone to the platform in front of the hotel.
Looking at the star-studded sky, he heard the calls of various insects. Their calls rose and fell, creating a beautiful symphony in the night. For some reason, when Lu Chen heard this beautiful symphony, he sighed softly again. The gentle night breeze blew through his hair. If there were a woman nearby, she would surely be deeply attracted by Lu Chen's appearance at that moment.
Thus, Lu Chen wandered around aimlessly. After a while, he was surprised to find that he had arrived at the mountaintop where he had watched the sunrise that morning. The path up the mountain was quite dangerous, and the fact that he had not had any accidents was truly a miracle.
Looking at his luminous watch, he saw that it was exactly midnight, or 2 AM, according to Daoist beliefs. At this time, the yin energy was the strongest, and all kinds of ghosts and monsters liked to come out to "hunt" for food. The eerie surroundings made Lu Chen feel a bit scared. To boost his courage, he kept telling himself, "There are no ghosts in this world, they are all lies."
