Chapter 2: How Did I Become a Baby? (<>)

As Lu Chen's voice grew louder, he felt even more afraid.
At that moment, the place where the sun rose in the sky suddenly emitted a purple glow, which grew stronger with time.
Suddenly, several human figures appeared in the intense purple light. "Why are there human figures again? Haven't I slept enough today?" Lu Chen couldn't help but think of the figure he saw in the morning. If this was the same figure that appeared during the day, then it wasn't an illusion but real. Lu Chen was stunned by the scene before him. He pinched himself hard, almost shouting from the pain, and turned to look at the light again, only to find that the figures were still there.
Gradually, Lu Chen realized that the golden purple light was not stationary but was moving. Whether or not it had noticed him, the golden purple light with the figures began to move toward him.
Lu Chen was so scared that he wanted to turn and run down the mountain, but he found his legs rooted to the ground, unable to move. Fortunately, he couldn't move, or he might have fallen off the mountain in his current state!
As the golden purple light got closer to Lu Chen, he found himself unable to speak and closed his eyes, waiting for death!
The figures in the golden purple light became clearer, but unfortunately, Lu Chen had his eyes closed and didn't see their appearance. The figure came to Lu Chen's side, looking left and right, with an expression like a child seeing their favorite toy!
After a while, the figure seemed to notice something, and its eyes sparkled with excitement. It then grabbed Lu Chen's hands and said, "You've finally come!"
Before Lu Chen could react to being grabbed, he felt a sharp pain in his head and fainted.
Lu Chen gradually regained consciousness. He suddenly found himself surrounded by a strange liquid and realized he was a blob of flesh, without any limbs or facial features. Lu Chen was a bit scared. He couldn't understand how he had gone from the top of Mount Huang to this place just by closing and opening his eyes.
Could he be dead? Was he in the underworld? That didn't make sense! He hadn't heard of people turning into blobs of flesh after death; they should become ghosts! Or was he not dead and in some other place?
However, for Lu Chen, who was often engrossed in novels, he quickly remembered the old man's words before he lost consciousness. Given the urgency in the old man's voice, he realized he wasn't dead but had been transported to another place. So, his current task was to observe his surroundings.
"Wife, I heard you're pregnant. Is it true?" A strikingly handsome man burst through an ancient door, his face tense, and asked the beautiful woman lying in bed.
The woman on the bed was startled by the sudden opening of the door. But when she saw the man, her tension eased, and she patted her chest, saying, "Husband, you scared me to death! I thought it was someone else! By the way, aren't you supposed to be guarding the Gabi border? How do you have time to come back today? Didn't you skip work again?"
"Of course not! Wife, do you think I'm that kind of person? I heard from the old man that you're pregnant, so I rushed back to see you. I have to go back tomorrow!" The man walked to the woman's side, sat on the bed, and gently pulled her into his arms.
Hearing the man's words, the woman leaned her head on his chest, closed her eyes, and softly asked, "Husband, what name do you think we should give our child?"
The man stroked the woman's hair and smiled, "Don't worry! Wife, I've already thought of it! If it's a boy, we'll name him Lu Chen. If it's a girl, we'll name her Lu Tianxue. How does that sound? Isn't the name my husband chose great?"
The woman's eyes sparkled with admiration, "Not bad! Husband, when did you become so talented? I'm so impressed."
What the young couple didn't realize was that the subject of their conversation was listening to them from inside the woman's womb, now that he had grown ears.
Lu Chen was utterly shocked. He couldn't believe what he was hearing.
It turned out that while Lu Chen was wondering where he was, he overheard the couple's conversation and realized he had been reborn as a baby. Moreover, he wasn't on Earth but on an unknown planet in the midst of war!
After sorting out his thoughts, Lu Chen's fear subsided. To him, it didn't matter where he was. He was alone on Earth, surviving on government assistance. The only thing he regretted was that he wouldn't see his brothers again. He wondered how Chen Peng would react when he realized he was gone. It was a bit of a bittersweet thought. Lu Chen, now seemingly heartless, thought to himself, but perhaps he really was heartless now!
