Since Liu Yunxuan had already obtained his hunting license, Allen's hunting plan was about to come true.

Allen's hunting trip would last two days, a small hunt, as it was not the season for deer hunting. A lot of preparations were needed. Some dry rations, a tent, and some basic camping equipment. These were easy to buy, as several camping supply stores in town sold them.

Liu Yunxuan's preparations were even more thorough. With the spatial storage as a free warehouse, he put everything he thought he might need inside. Then he carried a large backpack, filled with various supplies, to serve as a cover. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to explain how he could pull out so many things later.

Liu Yunxuan didn't want to suffer in the mountains, especially since Michelle was also going with him.

Everything was ready, and finally, the day of the trip arrived.

There were five people in total, driving two cars. The other two were about Allen's age, his friends Smith and Andre, who were also ranchers in town.

On the way, everyone chatted via radio, which Liu Yunxuan found very interesting. Of course, Liu Yunxuan and Michelle were in the same car, part of Allen's plan to foster their relationship.

Upon arriving at the destination, they parked the cars at a hunter's supply store at the foot of the mountain, and the five of them began their hunting trip.

To his surprise, Michelle had a lot of hunting experience. Liu Yunxuan envied the three hunting dogs running around, sighing in longing for his own dogs, Dahuang and Bannu.

"Li, you should also raise a few sheepdogs on your ranch. They can help you herd and hunt," Michelle said to Liu Yunxuan.

"Actually, I have two very good hunting dogs at my home in Huaxia. I'll bring them over when I get the chance," Liu Yunxuan replied.

"Can your dogs herd as well?" Michelle asked curiously.

"Of course. Although they can't do it now, they are very smart and will learn quickly," Liu Yunxuan said, his face lighting up at the mention of Dahuang and Bannu.

Seeing Liu Yunxuan's happy expression, Michelle became curious about the two dogs, knowing that Liu Yunxuan was quite honest.

"There will be game ahead, don't spread out too far. Also, be careful not to accidentally injure anyone," Allen reminded Liu Yunxuan and Michelle, who were following behind.

Every year, there are accidental injuries during hunting, and Allen didn't want to hit a person instead of game.

"Don't worry, Dad, I'll take good care of Liu," Michelle said proudly, considering herself a mature and experienced hunter compared to Liu Yunxuan.

Liu Yunxuan also became more alert, constantly observing the surroundings. The mountain wasn't very high, but it covered a large area, forming a small mountain range. There were many pine and fir trees, as well as some walnut trees.

Squirrels were jumping around on the trees, unafraid of people.

At this moment, Allen, who was walking in front, raised his fist to signal everyone to stop. He gestured to Liu Yunxuan to come over.

Liu Yunxuan carefully walked over and, through the bushes, saw five wild chickens foraging in the forest.

"Li, this is your first hunt, so the first shot is yours. I hope you have a good harvest," Allen whispered.

Liu Yunxuan didn't refuse, raised his hunting rifle, and slowly aimed at the wild chickens in the forest. The other four people watched expectantly from behind.

The wild chickens in the scope had no idea they were about to be shot. Liu Yunxuan found that hunting live game was much different from target shooting.

Several times, just as he was about to shoot, the wild chickens would move out of his sights, making him anxious.

"Don't rush. Adjust your breathing, follow the rhythm of the wild chickens, and shoot decisively when you have a good aim," Michelle said softly, seeing that Liu Yunxuan hadn't fired after a long time.

After hearing Michelle's advice, Liu Yunxuan slowly adjusted his breathing. This time, he didn't focus on the sights but followed the movement of the wild chickens, moving the gun barrel slowly.

"Bang!" A crisp gunshot rang out. Through the scope, Liu Yunxuan saw the wild chicken hit by the bullet fall to the ground, twitching its legs before becoming still.

Liu Yunxuan let out a long breath, relieved that he hadn't embarrassed himself.

"Congratulations, Li, you did really well," the others congratulated him.

At this moment, the hunting dogs had already brought the wild chicken back. The bullet had hit the body of the wild chicken, passing through it. Liu Yunxuan blushed, remembering what Garcia had said: experienced hunters usually aim for the head to avoid wasting the meat.

Actually, Liu Yunxuan had aimed for the head, but the natural conditions had caused the shot to be slightly off.

"Li, don't be too hard on yourself. This is your first hunt, and you did very well. You'll get better with practice," Michelle encouraged him.

The group didn't stay in one place for long. Liu Yunxuan hung the wild chicken on a belt around his waist and continued forward.

On the way, they hunted a few wild rabbits for dinner and didn't hunt any more. Americans don't particularly enjoy rabbit meat.

They saw a few deer and elk but, as it was a small hunt, they didn't have the tags to hunt deer. They could only watch the animals pass by.

"Alright, let's call it a day. Let's see if we have any luck hunting a wild boar tomorrow," Allen said, looking at the sky.

Hunting wasn't just about catching small animals. For them, experienced hunters, hunting deer, bears, and wild boars was the main goal. Deer were hunted for their meat and antlers, while bears and wild boars were hunted for the thrill. Wild boars can be very fierce when enraged.

Surviving in the wild wasn't safe, with bears and wolves in the forests.

After selecting a campsite, everyone set up their tents. The tents were arranged in a circle, with a campfire in the middle. The campfire provided warmth against the cold mountain air at night and helped to keep wild animals away.

Liu Yunxuan set up his tent for the first time, following the instructions and succeeding on his first try, avoiding any embarrassment.

"To thank everyone for their help, I'll prepare dinner tonight," Liu Yunxuan said to the group.

Although he had only hunted one wild chicken, he had learned a lot. He had learned a lot during his hunting training, but there were still many practical differences.

The others were curious to see what Liu Yunxuan would prepare for dinner. Usually, when they went hunting, they just ate some bread, roasted some game, and boiled some water.

Liu Yunxuan first took out a portable gas stove from his backpack, then a camping pot, and several bottles of propane.

The others were stunned, thinking his backpack was full of food, but it turned out to be these items.

Liu Yunxuan ignored their reactions and continued to take things out of his backpack. Various small bottles of seasonings, a few stainless steel mugs, and some cucumbers and tomatoes.

Actually, many of the items were stored in the spatial storage, and he was just taking them out to maintain the cover.

"Li, you are really well-prepared," Michelle said in admiration, having initially thought his large backpack was full of snacks.

"Hehe, it's my first time out with everyone, so it's better to be well-prepared," Liu Yunxuan said with a smile.

The others didn't idle, cleaning the wild chicken and rabbits. Liu Yunxuan went to gather some mushrooms, making sure they were non-toxic, and also collected some dry wood.

He stewed the wild chicken and one rabbit with mushrooms, and roasted the other two rabbits over the campfire.

The wild rabbits weren't very fatty, but Liu Yunxuan had brought some oil, brushing it on the rabbits as he turned them.

The aroma from the pot and the roasted rabbits made everyone's mouths water.
