"Secretary Song, you go yourself. This is the new Wang Tiancheng. Let him go with you," Deputy Secretary Fei Feng of the supervisory agency said with concern.
Party Secretary Song Hong of Liucun Township looked at Wang Tiancheng, who was tall and handsome, but she didn't have time to think much. As she walked out, she said, "Let's go, get in the car quickly."
Wang Tiancheng was confused by the sudden situation, but he knew one thing: Secretary Fei had assigned him to go with Secretary Song to handle the fire. It was frustrating that he hadn't even had time to get to know the people before starting work. Wang Tiancheng didn't have time to think much and followed Secretary Song out.
Looking at Secretary Song, who was walking ahead with her hips swaying, Wang Tiancheng thought, "This woman is really a beautiful rogue, a typical young wife, with a well-endowed figure and a radiant face. Plus, she looks well-maintained. It seems I'm having a lucky day, meeting several beautiful women. Of course, the cold woman in the office doesn't count."
Wang Tiancheng got into Song Hong's car and immediately smelled a faint fragrance of a woman. His heart fluttered slightly. Wang Tiancheng was a seasoned player; if it were a regular young man, his face would have turned red long ago. But Wang Tiancheng didn't, as seducing women had been his main job from school until graduation.
What made Wang Tiancheng a bit frustrated was that Secretary Song didn't have a driver and was driving the car herself. Moreover, Wang Tiancheng felt that Secretary Song's driving skills were not good, to put it mildly, they were terrible. Sometimes Wang Tiancheng even wanted to tell Secretary Song, "Let me drive," but he held back, afraid of offending her.
Soon, the car arrived at the industrial park. Wang Tiancheng saw black smoke and flames not far ahead. The fire trucks hadn't arrived yet.
Song Hong drove the car close to the fire site, got out, and Wang Tiancheng naturally followed, staying behind her.
"Secretary Song, you're here," an elderly man over fifty walked over and said to Song Hong.
"President Miao, how is it? Is there anyone inside?" Song Hong asked directly.
"There are people, probably three or four. But the fire is too intense; we can't get in," President Miao said in a hoarse voice.
Song Hong was shocked. There were people inside, and this was unacceptable. She looked behind her, saw no other vehicles, and said with determination, "We can't wait. You're the new one, Wang Tiancheng, right? Let's go in first and save the people."
Wang Tiancheng was completely stunned. With such a big fire, even he wouldn't dare to go in, let alone a woman like Song Hong. Seeing Secretary Song already walking towards the fire, Wang Tiancheng gritted his teeth and followed. He was moved by her determination and decided that even if he couldn't save the people, he would protect her.
Wang Tiancheng's eyes inadvertently caught sight of a blanket hanging on a rope, and coincidentally, there was a water pipe nearby. He remembered a scene from TV and shouted, "Secretary Song, put this on." As he spoke, he took the blanket, soaked it in water, and handed it to Secretary Song Hong.
Song Hong was slightly taken aback but quickly reacted, nodding in approval and putting on the wet blanket.
Thus, Wang Tiancheng followed Song Hong, both of them wearing wet blankets. They rushed into the fire. The temperature inside was astonishing, and without the protection of the blankets, they would have been in trouble. Despite the steel structure of the factory, decorative items kept falling.
Finally, they found three young girls in one of the rooms, hugging each other and crying. The arrival of Wang Tiancheng and Song Hong gave them hope, but there were no extra blankets.
Looking at the girls in their prime, Wang Tiancheng steeled his heart, put the blanket on the three girls, and said, "Hurry, it's too late if you don't go now." Without the protection of the blanket, Wang Tiancheng immediately felt the intense heat, as if his whole body was on fire.
Song Hong walked over, grabbed Wang Tiancheng, and said, "Let's go, get out together."
Wang Tiancheng was slightly taken aback, not expecting Song Hong to act this way. Feeling the softness of her body, he had a strange feeling, but he didn't have time to think about it. He put his arm around Song Hong's shoulder, sharing the blanket, and they walked out together.
When they stepped out of the room, Wang Tiancheng was stunned. There was no way out; the front was a sea of fire. Wang Tiancheng and Song Hong had to retreat to the room they had just left, where the smoke was thick but they could still manage to hold on.
As the temperature continued to rise, the steel-structured room felt like a furnace, roasting Wang Tiancheng and Song Hong.
Wang Tiancheng and Song Hong huddled together under the blanket.
"Young man, I didn't expect you to be buried in a fire on your first day of work," Song Hong said jokingly. Her ability to joke at such a moment showed her mental strength.
Wang Tiancheng hugged Song Hong tightly, pulling the blanket down a bit, and said, "Dying with a beautiful secretary isn't so bad."
"Smooth talker. If we can get out alive, I'll take good care of you," Song Hong said, looking at the young and handsome Wang Tiancheng with a sense of feeling. She had divorced her husband two years ago due to work and was now alone, having not been with a man for a long time. She felt a long-lost romance, not expecting to have a young man with her in her final moments.
"How will you take care of me? I'm a real man," Wang Tiancheng said, staring at the beautiful Secretary Song Hong. He decided to be open; at this point, there was nothing left to hide, as they were about to
