In the small bedroom of the little house, Doudou, wearing a little nightgown, rolled over on the bed, holding her little tummy. Her stomach growled; Doudou was hungry. She rolled over, bit her pacifier, and got out of bed. She moved a chair, pulled the curtains open, and saw that it was still dark outside, the sky gray and hazy. Grandma was still sleeping, so she couldn't make Doudou anything to eat. Doudou climbed down from the chair, turned back to look at the empty bed where Baby Sister should have been, and realized Baby Sister had sneaked away again. Baby had gotten up in the middle of the night and gone back to her mother's room. Doudou pouted, thinking she didn't have a mother. She asked her father, and he said Doudou didn't have a mother, but Baby Sister said every child had a mother who loved them. Doudou folded the blanket, changed her diaper, washed her little bottom, put on a clean pair of underwear, a suspenders work pants, a little shirt, and little boots. Doudou held a big bottle of milk and left the little house. Doudou was hungry, so she went to find Niu Niu.
Doudou went to the cowshed and scratched the cow lying on the ground. "Big Niu, Doudou is hungry." Big Niu, Second Niu, and Third Niu were the names Doudou had given to the ten cows. Doudou patted her tummy. Big Niu stood up, nudged Doudou with its head, and made her giggle. "Big Niu, Doudou wants to drink milk, don't move, okay?" Doudou brought a small stool and a small milk bucket, stood on the stool, placed the bucket, and squeezed Big Niu's udders with her little hands. Splash, splash, in no time, the small milk bucket was half full of milk.
Doudou happily patted Big Niu's bottom, pulled out many carrots and lettuces from her space, and fed Big Niu. After that, she happily carried the small milk bucket out of the cowshed, filled the big milk bottle, and started drinking. After finishing the big bottle, her little tummy was full. Doudou was satisfied, but there was still a lot of milk left in the bucket. Doudou tilted her head and thought for a moment, then carried the small milk bucket to find Niu Niu and Xiao Bai. Doudou drove the little cart to George's farm, entered the sheep pen, and caught two little lambs to feed them.
The commotion in the sheep pen woke up Daina. Daina, holding a rifle, walked to the sheep pen and saw Doudou feeding the little lambs fresh milk. Daina rubbed her eyes. "Pandora?" "Oh, Aunt Daina found Doudou." Doudou, acting like a little lamb, hid behind the mother sheep. Daina, both amused and exasperated, put down her gun, caught Doudou, and asked what was going on. It turned out that early in the morning, Doudou had gone to the sheep pen to feed the lambs milk. Daina noticed that the milk hadn't been pasteurized.
Freshly squeezed milk contains many bacteria and shouldn't be drunk directly. Doudou nodded her little head, understanding a bit. After a while, she fell asleep in Daina's arms, mumbling about her mother. When Li Han came to pick up Doudou, he heard her mumbling about her mother and sighed. After a short nap, Doudou was full of energy, carrying a small basket and a shovel to pick lettuce. She wasn't going to school today and had agreed with Baby Sister to sell lettuce at the square.
Baby didn't want to go, saying no one would buy the lettuce Doudou's sister had planted, and that the rabbit costume was too hot. Baby refused to go, and Doudou pouted, picking the lettuce alone and putting it in the little cart to sell in town. Li Han didn't pay much attention, busy installing sprinklers on the hillside in the morning. Pierre was efficient, having prepared the plan in two days, and they started work today. After finishing the work, he returned to the little house and found Baby playing with a squirrel. "Baby, where's Doudou?"
Baby blinked her eyes. "Doudou went to sell lettuce, but I didn't go." Baby sometimes was quite stubborn, just like Li Han. He thought Doudou would be fine and didn't pay much attention. But by lunchtime, Doudou still hadn't returned, and the family became worried. Li Han's mother scolded him, and his sister scolded Baby, making the little girl cry. They had to calm Baby down.
After hearing about the morning's events, Zhang Xiuying couldn't sit still. Doudou hadn't returned after half a day, and she was usually very obedient, coming home for meals and playing with Baby Sister. Doudou would usually bring Baby Sister home for meals. "Mom, don't worry, I'll go to town and check." Doudou not coming home made it hard to eat, so Li Han decided to go to town, thinking Doudou might have lost track of time.
"Baby, go find Doudou too." Baby wiped her tears and tugged at her uncle. "Stay home and don't bother Uncle." Her sister held Baby back, scolding her, which made Baby pout and cry again. "Say less, Baby is still young and doesn't understand. Baby, eat your meal, and let Uncle find Doudou." Zhang Xiuying comforted Baby and turned to Li Han. "Xiao Han, bring Doudou back as soon as you find her. She's probably very hungry by now."
"Mom, I know." Li Han drove the pickup to the town center square. The streets were empty, and after asking a few shop owners, he learned that Doudou had come to sell vegetables in the morning, wearing a rabbit costume and dancing with a basket to sell lettuce. Everyone recognized the little girl who sold lettuce, but they didn't pay much attention.
"Thanks, Alden. Goodbye." "Goodbye, Hank." Li Han asked a few more shop owners and finally found a clue. Doudou had danced as a rabbit for a long time at the central square but hadn't sold any lettuce. Tired, she had fallen asleep in the little cart and left around ten o'clock, heading back along the road. Li Han followed the trail, and it seemed Doudou was heading home, which was strange. He drove the pickup all the way to George's farm.
Li Han found Halden and Daina, who hadn't seen Doudou. Li Han wondered where Doudou had gone. "Han, do you need me to help look around?" "No, Daina, it's fine. Maybe Doudou just fell asleep after playing. I'll go back first."
On the other side, Doudou had picked a lot of lettuce and happily driven the little cart to sell it. She had danced as a rabbit, her tummy full of delicious lettuce, but no one had bought her lettuce. Tired, she fell asleep. An old man with a white beard gave her a cake and said he would buy her lettuce. Doudou followed him, driving the little cart for a long time.
"Wow, dogs." Doudou was startled by a dozen pit bulls and four German shepherds. The little witch had come again. Doudou jumped out of the cart, ran to the dogs, and patted their heads one by one. The fierce guard dogs growled and lay down, baring their teeth but trembling and not moving.
Doudou played with the dogs for a long time. The old man with the white beard brought her a lot of delicious food, and Doudou happily led the little cart into the big estate. Glasserman's face was not very pleasant. Doudou's little face was red from the sun, and she was sweating in her thick rabbit costume, eating cake and drinking drinks, very hungry. Vessa mentioned that at the central square, Doudou had danced in a thick rabbit costume to sell lettuce and had eaten most of the basket of lettuce.
"Vessa, take Pandora to take a bath and change into clean clothes." Glasserman patted Doudou's little head, and Doudou turned back with a big smile, her face still smeared with cream. She looked very happy, and Glasserman seemed to see his daughter when she was young. "Pandora, take a bath and change clothes. Vessa, prepare lunch."
"Yes, sir." Vessa hadn't seen the master smile in a long time. Indeed, Miss Pandora had made the master laugh, truly an angel. If I knew who had treated such a cute angel like this, I wouldn't let them off, Vessa thought.
"Um, Grandpa with the white beard, Doudou's lettuce is for you to eat, but Doudou has no money." Doudou knew that eating things required money, but she hadn't sold any and had no money to give the old man. Glasserman took the lettuce Doudou had brought from the little cart, a flash of anger in his eyes, but he quickly smiled.
Vessa led Doudou to take a bath and change clothes. Glasserman sat in a chair, his face turning very serious. He saw his daughter's shadow in Pandora, and Doudou's experience made him extremely angry. Such a cute angel, dressed in a thick rabbit costume in the hot sun, dancing and eating lettuce non-stop. Glasserman ordered the lettuce to be taken to the kitchen, knowing that Pandora would be upset if it was thrown away.
Doudou, dressed in a beautiful princess dress with a bow, looked very pretty. "Vessa, it's time to eat." While Doudou was having lunch with the old man, Li Han was being scolded by his mother. Li Han was helpless, wondering where Doudou had gone. He had searched everywhere but found no one. He wasn't worried about Doudou encountering danger like wolves or bears, thinking she might ride them back, but he couldn't tell his parents, so he had to search everywhere.
Doudou had a great lunch, with lobster, venison, and excellent desserts. Her tummy was full, and the lettuce had paid for the cake. Doudou patted her tummy, thinking she had eaten a lot. She had no money in her pocket and hadn't given the old man any money.
Doudou said she would help plant vegetables. Glasserman had prepared seeds and cleared a large area, the same place where Doudou had planted vegetables before, now equipped with the most advanced sensor irrigation system. Glasserman accompanied Doudou in planting vegetables, and the old and young had a lot of fun. As the sky grew dark, Doudou remembered she needed to go home. Li Han was really worried, telling himself Doudou would be fine, but who knew what could happen. If she encountered a hungry wolf, it might attack her.
Li Han became more and more afraid, searching along the road. He finally met Doudou coming out of Glasserman's ranch. Without a word, he caught Doudou and gave her a good spanking. Doudou's bottom hurt, and she pouted and sobbed. Li Han then noticed that a few cowboys on horseback were staring at him intently.
