Chapter 28 - Imposing Manner

Ji Naitang inhaled and slowly blew out smoke rings. The night wind blew the smoke rings away, but it could not blow away the deep pain in his eyes.

He wasn’t addicted to smoking, but he couldn’t help but smoke whenever he dreamed of what happened in his childhood.

The scarred man didn’t urge him. He stood there and silently looked at him. Loneliness, desolation, and grief shrouded this little handsome guy. When he slowly blew out the smoke rings, all of these emotions transformed into sensuality.

“You smoked my cigarette, so you’re mine now.”

Ji Naitang looked up at him and asked, “Did you say that there’s a bar nearby?”

“Yes. Are you interested?”

“Is there a lot of alcohol?”

“There are all sorts of alcohol there. You can drink as much as you want. It’s my treat.”

Ji Naitang straightened. Two fingers sandwiched the cigarette as he started walking. The scarred man happily followed behind him. Assistant Liu, who had seen all this, was frozen.

He was right? That was really Ji Naitang? But he was far away so he didn’t hear what they said. But no matter what they said, why would Ji Naitang follow an unfamiliar man?

Ji Naitang looked calm as he walked past bar patrons. He completely didn’t care about the gazes on him. He sat down in front of the bar counter and ordered a bottle of wine. Then he asked the bartender to make another drink.

The scarred man followed and smiled, “That wine is very strong. Can you handle it?”

Ji Naitang didn’t reply. He pushed the glass of wine over to the man. His voice was low as he said, “You gave me a cigarette. I’m returning a glass of wine to you. We’re even.”

“My cigarette isn’t so easy to pay back. Tonight, you……” The scarred man’s words stopped when he encountered Ji Naitang’s eyes. Ji Naitang looked at him and chuckled before saying, “I don’t like repeating myself. I’m also in a very bad mood tonight.”

This was a warning. The scarred man discovered that he couldn’t understand this man in front of him. Ji Naitang picked up the wine bottle that the bartender brought over. He paid and then walked away.

“Was that him?”

“Looks like it.”
