Tang Chen frowned and said, "You fainted in my car. I had a doctor come and check you out. He said your diet was poorly regulated, and you were upset and had heatstroke. Although it's not a serious illness, you need to rest for a while. This afternoon, he gave you an injection, and you have another dose of medicine tomorrow. Also, the doctor said you need to take some traditional Chinese medicine to recover. He will bring the medicine over tomorrow morning."
"Isn't that a bit much?" Yang Kang was taken aback. He actually wanted him to stay here?
"It's fine, I have plenty of space," Tang Chen smiled. "You don't need to feel constrained. In fact, when I offered you a ride today, I mistook you for someone else. Perhaps this is a kind of fate?"
"But—" Yang Kang was still in a daze.
"It's settled then." Tang Chen stood up and pressed his hand, saying.
Tang Chen's dominant personality left Yang Kang at a loss for words.
Just then, Tang Chen's phone rang. He looked at the number, smiled at Yang Kang, and walked out of the study to answer it.
"Old Ou, how is it?" Tang Chen's voice came from the study door.
"The things you want are hard to find. The few that exist are either in museums or overseas," an elderly voice said from the phone. "However, this time, it's a stroke of luck, and also your good fortune. I'll fax you the specific pictures later."
"Great!" Tang Chen agreed readily.
"That young man, I heard, has a bit of a peculiar temperament," the elderly voice continued. "Find out his interests and cater to them. Don't put on airs as Mr. Tang the boss."
"Okay!" Tang Chen responded noncommittally.
"I'm serious!" the elderly voice said again. "And don't mention that you know me. Otherwise, this matter will definitely fall through. I know you don't take it seriously. You, Mr. Tang, have money, and most people in the world look up to you. When you stomp your foot, the financial markets in Southeast Asia tremble. But I'm telling you, some things can't be bought with money. If you mess this up, don't come to me for help."
"Alright, I'm not that pretentious," Tang Chen sighed. "I'll lower my status and personally visit him, begging him."
"Good luck." The old man hung up the phone directly.
Yang Kang didn't hear much, but he did hear the last sentence. At that moment, Tang Chen walked back in and smiled, "Mr. Yang, go back to your room and take a shower and change clothes. I'll have someone prepare dinner, and I have something to ask you."
"Huh?" Yang Kang was taken aback. He felt that Tang Chen's dominant personality was really strong. Although his words were polite, they were actually direct orders, leaving no room for negotiation.
But this person was well-intentioned, and after all, he had saved him. Otherwise, if he had fainted on the side of the road under the scorching sun, and passersby ignored him to avoid trouble, no one would have known he was dead.
Tang Chen still called Bao Qin to take him back to his room to shower and change clothes. Bao Qin explained that the clothes were from their master but had never been worn.
Yang Kang could see that Tang Chen was very wealthy. The furniture and the house were absolutely not what an ordinary person could afford.
When he looked out the window, he saw a large lotus pond outside. It was the season for lotus flowers, with green leaves like umbrellas and pink or white flowers dotted among them.
There were also artificial hills and pavilions, arranged in a picturesque manner, clearly a garden-style building.
Yang Kang wasn't picky about clothes. Even if he had been picky, the past two years of life had left him with no room for such luxury. After taking a shower and changing clothes, Bao Qin led Yang Kang to the dining room, where Tang Chen was already sitting at the head of the table waiting for him.
"Please sit!" Tang Chen pointed to the chair next to him and smiled.
Yang Kang responded and sat down. As soon as he was seated, a waiter brought various dishes. Tang Chen personally served him a bowl of red date porridge and said, "You didn't have lunch, so eat something light."
"Thank you, Mr. Tang." Yang Kang hurriedly accepted it. Before seeing the food, he felt fine, but now that he saw it, he remembered that he hadn't had lunch today and only had a cup of oatmeal for breakfast.
The doctor was right about his diet being irregular—over the past two years, he had basically lived a life of feast or famine. Sometimes, when he was very hungry, he would just eat instant noodles to fill his stomach.
After eating a small bowl of porridge, and with Tang Chen's enthusiastic hospitality, he ate a little more.
"Mr. Yang, I have a question," Tang Chen leaned back in his chair. He hadn't eaten much, just had a glass of red wine. Seeing that Yang Kang was almost done, he said, "What do young people your age like?"
"Huh?" Yang Kang was taken aback. What did he like?
"Under normal circumstances, young men like fancy cars and beautiful women?" Yang Kang tentatively answered.
"Isn't that what all men like?" Tang Chen couldn't help but laugh. "Be more specific."
"That's hard to say. Everyone has different interests," Yang Kang shook his head.
"Hmm?" Tang Chen thought for a moment and asked, "What do you like?"
"Me?" Yang Kang thought seriously and said, "I like reading books and sleeping!"
"Is sleeping a hobby?" Tang Chen was speechless. Could that be considered a hobby?
"Sort of!" Yang Kang smiled. "When my father was around, I liked reading books, playing games, and sleeping when I was tired."
"Very normal hobbies," Tang Chen said. "I'm going to visit a young man soon. He's said to be a bit peculiar. What do you think I should give him as a gift for our first meeting?"
Yang Kang finally understood why he was asking. He immediately smiled, "What's peculiar about that young man?"
"I don't know!" Tang Chen said. "The old man didn't explain clearly, and I don't understand... Besides, we don't have a close relationship, so I can't give him something too expensive. If I give something too valuable, he might think I'm showing off my wealth. If I give something too cheap, he might not like it. I'm really troubled."
"What business is he in?" Yang Kang understood his dilemma. It wasn't easy to deal with someone you didn't know well, especially someone with peculiar habits.
"Antiques!" Tang Chen said. "Anyone in the antiques business is very peculiar!"
Yang Kang touched his nose and couldn't help but smile bitterly. Was this cursing the monk in front of the monk? He was also in the antiques business and was naturally a very peculiar person?
