Even while driving, Bai Zhe kept repeating Yu Li’s words in his head to the point where he couldn’t even hear what the person beside him was saying.

Bai Zhe suddenly braked to the side of the highway. He didn’t understand her outburst and asked, “What is it?”

“I should be the one asking you that. When I left for a moment, what did Yu Li say to you? When I ask you a question, you don’t reply. You’re acting all mysterious. Are you two hiding something from me?” Fengguang gave him a ‘don’t you dare lie to me’ kind of look while hugging his arm.

“Aren’t you the one hiding something from me?” Bai Zhe retorted back. She didn’t hear any emotions in his tone. “Before I arrived, what did you talk to Yu Li about?”

“I…” She bit her lip for a moment before she turned away. “The wind is too loud. I didn’t hear anything!”

Bai Zhe pressed himself against her, trapping her in her chair. “You told Yu Li to help me go against Song Mo and in exchange, you would marry him. Did I get it right?”

“What? That’s what he told you?!” Fengguang was shocked and then cursed Yu Li in her heart a couple hundred times. “I did ask him to help you but I never mentioned marrying him! Yu Li already has a fiancee and he loves her. They’re getting married in a month… Wait, you tricked me into confessing!”

Once she saw his relaxed expression, in her heart, she had realized what had just happened. She pushed him away with anger written all over her face.

Bai Zhe gently smiled. “So you know my identity.”

“…I know.” She hesitated for a long time before she replied. “My father hired someone to investigate you and he’s the one who told me.”

“And what did your father say?”

Fengguang’s eyes darkened a little. “He said that you’re only with me to use me and to borrow the Xia family’s strength to defeat Song Mo.”

Bai Zhe nodded his head in agreement. “What he said is reasonable.”

She looked towards the floor.

“However, there is one logic that is incorrect.”

On the way back, Fengguang was fully displaying her happiness and satisfaction in her expression.
