Chapter 6: The Space

Yi closed the front door and couldn't wait to return to the old master Chu's room. She took out the necklace from the hidden compartment; the brown pendant under the peach wood plaque seemed much clearer than before.

Seeing this, her heart raced wildly. She tried to communicate with it using her mind, and soon her guess was confirmed. This was truly a moment of unexpected hope.

If it weren't for the fear of unnecessary trouble, she would have shouted to vent her excitement at that moment.

She silently recited the words to enter, and her whole body disappeared from the spot.

Looking around, this space, though vastly different from her original world, was a great opportunity.

However, after the initial joy, she felt a bit disappointed.

The joy was because of this opportunity, which not only greatly facilitated her future actions but also gave her a unique means of self-protection.

The disappointment was because the space was full of stones, with not a trace of greenery. Apart from the stone house in the center and a stone pavilion not far away, there was nothing else.

The stones here varied in size and color.

She wondered what was so marvelous about this space.

She had originally thought the stone pavilion was a place for rest.

But upon getting closer, she found a well in the middle of the pavilion, with a small stone next to it inscribed with the words "Spring Spirit." The material of the inscribed stone was the same as the pendant after it had absorbed blood.

It seemed she had been shortsighted before, mistaking a precious gem for an ordinary stone. The pendant, which looked like any other stone, was not an ordinary item.

The well in front of her was exquisitely crafted, and the well water could be touched by hand, suggesting it was also not an ordinary item.

She thought that once she figured out the situation in this space, she would definitely try it out first.

However, before she could further explore, someone knocked on the door from outside the space.

Yi had to leave the space again, feeling annoyed, and decided to wait until the night was quiet to explore further.

She opened the door to find Sun Ruiming standing outside, putting on a pretentious act. The original owner's taste was really not good, actually falling for such a hypocritical person: "What's up?"

Sun Ruiming tried to pull Yi, but failed: "Yi, are you okay?"

Yi glanced at him coldly: "Can't you see?"

Sun Ruiming thought Yi was still sad about the old master Chu's death and didn't take her unusual attitude to heart: "Yi, do you want me to come in and talk to you?"

In the past, Yi would always greet him with a smile when he said this. He was about to step into the courtyard.

But Yi stopped him: "No need, it's not convenient for a man and a woman to be alone together, especially now that my grandfather is gone."

Sun Ruiming was extremely displeased but didn't dare to force the issue: "Then I'll bring Xiaoyan over tomorrow to talk to you."

Yi didn't say yes or no, just replied coolly: "I have things to do, you should go back."

With that, she closed the door.

Seeing that it was indeed late, she thought that people who worked would be returning home soon, and neighbors would likely come to show concern for the little pitiful one. She decided not to enter the space again.

She had important matters to attend to tonight and needed to start cooking early.

Sun's mother, who had returned home with a belly full of anger, had a terrible expression: "Little wretch, you've really gone too far, daring to speak to me like that. Just wait."

Sun Xiaoyan called out as she entered the door: "Mom, I'm back."

Sun's mother, in a bad mood, found a vent for her anger: "You just know how to run around all day, not doing a single thing."

Sun Xiaoyan knew this was a sign that her mother was about to lose her temper and quickly tried to please her: "Mom, who made you angry this time?"
