Feng Yajing didn’t notice his abnormality and pulled him away from the dangerous area quickly.

After walking for a while, when a villa with a light blue theme appeared, Feng Yajing called out happily.

Just as she was about to run home, Lin Jixin grabbed her.

She turned her head in surprise, feeling a small, cold object being passed into her palm. It was a transparent object, unsure if it was glass or jade.

"Keep it close to your body," Lin Jixin said.

The energy of this "seven-sided crystal" had been mostly absorbed by the milk, leaving only a small amount of residual energy that wouldn’t harm Feng Yajing but could slowly improve her physical condition, making it just right.

Seeing Lin Jixin turn and walk away, she hesitated for a moment before finally turning to run into the villa.

"How could you take so long to come back!" Her father, Feng Lin, frowned in displeasure as soon as he saw her. "Uncle Yang and the others have been looking for you."

Feng Yajing bit her lip and suddenly rushed into Feng Lin’s arms, her whole body trembling as she cried out loud, releasing all the fear, tension, and委屈 (grievance) she had felt.

"It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s all over now..." Feng Lin, at a loss, had long forgotten his displeasure and comforted his precious daughter with a pained expression.

"Mr. Feng, it’s time to leave," two men walked in, the older one, around thirty, reminded them.

The name "Lexiong Pavilion" was like a tempting gold mine, attracting more and more thugs. With the threat becoming uncontrollable, they had all received orders to evacuate.

"Go!" Feng Lin, who had reached his current status and position, was not lacking in decisiveness. He picked up the prepared suitcase, grabbed Feng Yajing with his other hand, and quickly walked out the door.

On the way, they encountered other evacuees. The crowd grew larger, and people who knew each other exchanged greetings. With more and more police officers providing protection, the originally tense crowd gradually calmed down.

"Here!" Led by a middle-aged police officer, they walked out through a small side door that was usually locked.

Just as half of the crowd had passed, several gunshots rang out from the distance, followed by excited shouts from a group of people.

The door had been breached! Everyone’s faces changed.

"Quick, quick, quick!" The police officers hurriedly urged.

Without needing to be reminded, they all quickened their pace.

After walking for a while, a panicked scream suddenly came from behind, followed by continuous gunfire.

Turning around, they saw a large group of people rushing towards them, wielding clubs and hammers, with sinister expressions.

More than ten police officers at the rear lined up and fired desperately.

The bullets hit the few people at the front accurately, splattering blood as they fell to the ground, causing the mob to hesitate.

At this moment, several people suddenly rushed out from the crowd, moving as fast as lightning, and pounced on the police officers in an instant.

"Be careful!"

"Fire, fire!"

"Ah..."

Worried about accidentally injuring their own, the police officers didn’t fire immediately. By the time they made the decision, it was too late. These people were not only fast but also incredibly strong. They crashed into the crowd, grabbing left and right, and all the police officers were knocked to the ground. Then, the crowd surged forward, and the few remaining police officers were swallowed up like leaves in a flood.

"Go, go, go quickly..."

The crowd was in chaos, with screams and cries echoing through the air.

Feng Lin pulled his daughter and ran for their lives. People occasionally bumped into them, but the two bodyguards forcibly pushed them aside.

"Here, here..."

They ran in panic, turning and twisting, and finally managed to shake off their pursuers. They stopped to catch their breath, then continued running for a while before suddenly stopping.

At the intersection ahead, five or six men with bandanas on their faces and wielding clubs and other weapons were beating a fat man. It seemed they had encountered another small group of thugs.

These people also noticed them, grinned wickedly, and slowly surrounded them.

"Xiao Xu," the older of the two bodyguards looked at the younger one, "don’t use the gun, it’s too noisy."

"No problem," Xiao Xu, who had been eager to act, immediately rushed out.

"Uncle Wang..." Feng Yajing spoke softly.

"Don’t worry," the older man, surnamed Wang, saw her concern, "these few people aren’t enough for your Brother Xu to warm up."

As if to prove his words, Xiao Xu kicked the club out of the hand of the person at the front, breaking it into two pieces. The momentum continued, and the person was kicked flying several meters away. Then, with punches and kicks, he quickly took down the remaining few.

Since they were still on the run, seeing that these people had lost their fighting spirit and were crawling away, Xiao Xu didn’t pursue them. He turned back and made a gesture indicating they could pass.

"Boss, boss, save me, save me..." Seeing Xiao Xu turn back, the thugs immediately got up and ran away, screaming as they went.

These small fry didn’t concern them; their main worry was the large group of thugs behind. Feng Lin frowned at the fleeing men. "Go quickly."

"Thank you, thank you..." The fat man, who had been beaten, got up. His face was covered in blood, and he forced a smile through his swollen face, revealing a broken front tooth. "You must be from Lexiong Pavilion, I’m Zhao Zongsheng, the director of Dongze Commercial Bureau. Thank you, I will definitely repay you."

Feng Lin nodded casually. Although he was surprised at how the fat man, who weighed twice as much as an average person, had managed to overtake them, he didn’t mind doing a favor. "Follow quickly."

The group rushed through the street and came to a corner, where they slowed down to assess their path. Suddenly, a violent roar came from the side, so loud it seemed to be amplified by a high-powered speaker, shaking the windows and doors of the surrounding buildings.

Feng Yajing felt a buzzing in her ears and instinctively covered them.

She turned in fear and saw a man, several times stronger than an average person, with bulging arm muscles, even thicker than an average person’s thigh, charging towards them. As he passed a street lamp, he casually grabbed it and, with a loud crack, pulled it out of the ground, along with a large chunk of concrete.

Is this even a human? Feng Yajing’s eyes widened in shock.

Zhao Zongsheng, who had been panting and sweating and lagging behind, suddenly let out a shrill scream, like a girl being raped, and with agility completely out of proportion to his size, accelerated and thundered past everyone.

Feng Lin and the others were also terrified, their faces pale. Without needing to be told, the two bodyguards drew their guns and fired at the man charging towards them.

The man quickly crossed his arms in front of his face, and "bang, bang, bang..." bullets hit his chest and arms, splattering blood.

Is he dead?

Seeing the man covered in blood, they finally stopped firing and breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly, the muscular man roared, his muscles contracting violently, and "pop, pop, pop..." the bullets, now bloodied, were squeezed out of his flesh.

What kind of monster is this! Everyone was stunned.

Then, they saw the man raise the street lamp high, and the shadow of death loomed over everyone.

"Bang!"

A jet of blood spurted from the man’s right eye socket.

He screamed, dropped the half-broken street lamp, which flew and shattered a glass door on the opposite side.

Clutching his eye, he screamed and turned, charging across the street and crashing into a wall.

"Boom!" A large hole appeared in the concrete wall, and he disappeared into the building amidst the flying dust.

Feng Lin and the others were still in shock. Pulling out a street lamp by hand, being impervious to bullets (or almost), and breaking through a wall—these were things that should only happen in legends, yet they had just witnessed it.

The two bodyguards, clearly more grounded in reality, were the first to recover. Xiao Xu sighed, "Captain Wang, it’s a good thing you stayed calm, or we would have been in trouble."

"It wasn’t you?" Old Wang was surprised.

They looked at each other and immediately understood. They moved to the wall, one on each side, and aimed their guns, while Feng Lin, confused, quickly pulled his daughter to the wall.

Zhao Zongsheng also hid in the corner, trying to make himself look like a ball of flesh, his cheeks trembling as he looked around and asked in a trembling voice, "Where is the enemy?"

"It’s not the enemy!" Old Wang shook his head. After a moment, they put away their guns.

"Right," Xiao Xu nodded, "with his marksmanship, if he were the enemy, none of us would have escaped."

"The marksmanship isn’t the point," Old Wang continued, "the point is the mindset—waiting like a stone, and striking like lightning when the opportunity comes. I suspect he’s a top sniper from some special forces."

He sighed, "More importantly, the fact that he waited for the right moment shows he knew this person was bulletproof. Remember the people who knocked down the rear police officers? Their speed wasn’t normal either."

This reminded them of the speed of the thugs earlier, which was indeed unreasonable.

"There’s no daylight, the power is out, no signal on phones or TVs, strange humans, a top sniper... There’s definitely something we don’t know about here." He turned to Feng Lin, "Maybe we should think carefully about our next move."

Everyone fell silent.

At this point, they had almost shaken off the pursuit of the thugs. Normally, with two skilled bodyguards with guns, they should have been able to safely reach most places in Dongze. But the strange humans and Old Wang’s deductions had completely eroded their confidence. Who knew what kind of monsters they might encounter on the road ahead? If they faced another situation like before, without the help of the mysterious top sniper, no one would survive.

After a moment, Feng Lin asked Old Wang, "What do you mean?"

"The best thing to do is to find a place to hide," Old Wang hesitated, "before we lost contact, we knew this wasn’t the end of the world, and the abnormal situation was only in Dongze City. The country is now taking action, and General Lin will definitely send people. As long as we find a safe place, we won’t have to wait long for rescue."

"Alright," Feng Lin made up his mind, "let’s hide."

Just as he spoke, a beer can landed in front of them with a loud thud, startling them.

"Who’s there!"

The two bodyguards started to draw their guns again.

The surroundings were quiet, with no one in sight, only the broken beer can and the beer that had spilled on the ground.

Feng Yajing suddenly called out, "I get it! It’s telling us to go in here."

She pointed to the beer can, which had landed in front of a half-open door.

"Trust me, it’s right," she added, seeing their hesitation.

Feng Lin turned to look at Old Wang.

Old Wang hesitated, "It’s possible."

Feng Yajing pulled her father’s hand, "Trust me, it’s definitely this. Besides, if we’re wrong, we can always come out. It won’t be a problem."

"Alright," seeing Old Wang’s silence, Feng Lin finally nodded in agreement.

Feng Yajing jumped with excitement and pulled Feng Lin inside, "Quick, quick."
