They traveled north in silence.
Duan Yunxiao watched in some embarrassment as Rong Jin went to buy a beautiful carriage pulled by cloud horses. When Duan Yunxiao returned to sanity, he had nothing on his body except his clothes, his cultivation, and his invariably handsome face.
Duan Yunxiao couldn’t help casting secret glances at Rong Jin. The young man was neither handsome nor beautiful, but his long life of seclusion in Yaowang Valley gave him a clear, pure temperament like a mirror of still water. Especially his eyes, which always made people feel a sense of calm.
But he didn’t know why… Duan Yunxiao looked at Rong Jin’s face, the lips which were always tightened, the fists which were always clenched. He sensed the younger man was holding something back, restraining himself, and whatever it was had eaten away this person’s ability to appear patient….
Duan Yunxiao suddenly wondered what was behind these hidden emotions. He wanted to see the other side of this person.
The cloud horses obeyed their master’s command and traveled at great speed. Duan Yunxiao cleared his throat with a little embarrassment and said to Rong Jin, “There are two favors left. What else will you ask of me?”
“Don’t worry. What I ask won’t involve the central continent or your identity as sect leader of the Jian Sect.”
“Oh…” Duan Yunxiao touched his nose. He glanced at Rong Jin’s face and said somewhat shyly, “Are you… feeling better?”
Rong Jin frowned slightly. He looked back at Duan Yunxiao. “Do you have something to say.”
He met Rong Jin’s eyes and hesitated. “Rong Jin, do you have someone you like?”
“Someone I like?” Rong Jin’s eyes were blank, and he gazed at Duan Yunxiao with a somewhat empty expression. “What… does that mean?”
“It means a person you want to spend the rest of your life with, hand in hand for a lifetime,” Duan Yunxiao said, looking closely at Rong Jin.
“…”
Rong Jin didn’t answer, but Duan Yunxiao saw it clearly. Rong Jin lowered his eyes, his hands curled slightly, and the corners of his mouth pursed, revealing an extremely bitter smile.
Then Rong Jin said in a quiet, somewhat broken voice, “I never imagined being able to spend my life with him, hand in hand…. I just wanted to stand behind him, to accompany him for a lifetime.”
Duan Yunxiao’s hopes were dashed. Just as his heart was about to break into several pieces, Rong Jin whispered, “But I never thought even that was too much to hope for.”
Duan Yunxiao’s heart thudded. “Too much to hope for? Why?”
Rong Jin didn’t continue. He just turned his head and stared out of the carriage window. From this angle, Duan Yunxiao could just make out Rong Jin’s slightly reddened eyes.
Most likely, the person he was talking about was already dead.
Duan Yunxiao was highly perceptive and quickly found the crux of the matter. Although he felt somewhat apologetic for prying into Rong Jin’s private affairs, he breathed an inward sigh of relief. As the leader of the Jian Sect, it was his duty to set the example of a gentleman among the cultivators of the central continent. It was impossible for him to seize anything or anyone by force.
Wait…. Duan Yunxiao rubbed his forehead. What the hell was that, seizing by force? But this Rong Jin, whether it was his temperament or his body—Duan Yunxiao suddenly gulped—both were unexpectedly in line with his deepest preferences. This was the first candidate he’d found to become his cultivation partner in a hundred years. Anyway, right now Rong Jin had no partner, Duan Yunxiao secretly told himself. He couldn’t let go of such an excellent opportunity!

When they arrived at Yunmeng Pool, the two got out of the carriage to replenish their supplies.
Duan Yunxiao watched with some embarrassment as Rong Jin continued to purchase all the food and medicine on the journey. He silently shrank to the side, afraid that others would look at him with contempt.
The Jian Sect patriarch, who’d always spent money like water, experienced the feeling of being kept by another man for the first time in his life. Especially since this was his future partner… his mood was a little complex.
Before he knew it, it was already dusk. Rong Jin and Duan Yunxiao stopped at an inn to rest. Before Duan Yunxiao could open his mouth to say anything, Rong Jin had already thrown down some broken silver and asked the innkeeper for two rooms.
Duan Yunxiao turned his head and gazed optimistically at the innkeeper, hoping the man would decline and say there was only one room left. Unfortunately, the innkeeper was attentive and immediately agreed. He also arranged for them to have superior rooms.
Bah, that annoying money-grubber!
Duan Yunxiao silently slandered the man, then he nodded to Rong Jin without a word and walked to the other room.
As Duan Yunxiao settled in for the night, he thought to himself that he was a responsible person, a man who represented the face of the Jian Sect in all of the central continent. Since he and Rong Jin had already cooked the raw rice and Rong Jin wasn’t some evil cultivator or devil, he should take responsibility and propose marriage as soon as possible.
The more he thought about it, the more he felt he should act immediately. Duan Yunxiao’s handsome face took on an expression more beautiful than a woman’s, but his aura abruptly surged with an energy murderous enough to destroy ten thousand men.
Maybe his little darling Rong Jin was feeling upset because Duan Yunxiao’s demonized self had attacked him, but he hadn’t dared to say anything. Rong Jin might be hiding under his quilt right now, crying. He ought to hurry over to comfort and caress and massage the younger man, and take the opportunity to enter his soft, inviting… Ah, no, I mean, his heart!
Duan Yunxiao got up excitedly. He left his room, pushed open the door to Rong Jin’s room, and went inside.
When Duan Yunxiao saw the empty room his brain blanked out for a moment. Then he became acutely aware of something. In an instant, malevolent qi enveloped and overflowed his body, and a trace of visible scarlet arose in his eyes!
The room contained the residual energy signature of a cultivator’s coercion.
Rong Jin had probably been knocked out and taken away by that cultivator, and the terrible thing was that the power was fading quickly, which showed this person’s cultivation level… was on par with his own, the leader of the central continent’s Jian Sect!
After an unknown amount of time, Rong Jin gradually woke up.
When he looked at his surroundings and the iron chains around his wrists, chains which were fastened to the head of the bed, he let out a sigh. Instead of choosing to struggle, he closed his eyes.
This room, wasn’t it the place where he took Yan Buwang and forced him to do those dirty things?
Besides, he hadn’t offended anyone else recently except for Yan Buwang.
He waited quietly for a while. Then Rong Jin felt a big, rough hand reach obscenely into his pants and wantonly knead his ass. He struggled reflexively, but all four of his limbs were pinned down. Then the hand pointed its index and middle fingers and thrust them into his warm and soft secret place.
“You…” Rong Jin opened his eyes and looked at the rough man who was pressing him down. His whole body was tense and trembling. The other party inserted the two fingers so roughly he cried out in pain. “Let go of me, Yan Buwang!”
However, Yan Buwang only laughed in anger. Instead of stopping, he slowly rotated his fingers and inserted them even deeper. Finally, he pressed Rong Jin’s most sensitive point, which made him cry softly in an instant, and then his whole body went limp.
“Dare to tease me and deceive me, and still dare to make a request at the end of your life?” With his other hand, Yan Buwang picked up the Azure Dragon Sword and aimed it at Rong Jin’s slender white neck. He sneered, “What kind of person do you think I am?”
Rong Jin looked straight at Yan Buwang. “Yan Da Ge, I can’t die yet. If I die now, I really won’t rest in peace.”
“What does that have to do with me?” Yan Buwang curled his lips and said indifferently, “You have to pay for what you’ve done.”
“I know. I will. Please believe me, although it’s true I have selfish intentions, I really never wanted to hurt you for an instant.” Rong Jin gazed at Yan Buwang seriously and said, “I, Rong Jin, swear with a heart curse that I will never harm or damage Yan Buwang’s interests. When I finish what I want to do, Yan Buwang can kill or cut me at his disposal.”
A heart curse was a terrible thing. Yan Buwang saw the young man’s solemn eyes, but his anger didn’t diminish.
“You think you can continue to deceive me like this?”
Yan Buwang grabbed Rong Jin by the neck with one hand and fiercely tightened his fingers. In an instant Rong Jin couldn’t breathe. He reached out to grab the hand around his neck, but he couldn’t dislodge Yan Buwang in the slightest.
Seeing Rong Jin struggling less and less, Yan Buwang found himself getting even more annoyed.
Cough!!
Yan Buwang suddenly released his hand. Rong Jin instantly gasped for breath, accompanied by more coughing. He looked wretched and pitiful.
Yan Buwang gazed coldly at Rong Jin’s miserable appearance, but he couldn’t maintain his will. He withdrew the Azure Dragon Great Sword that was aimed at Rong Jin as well as the fingers that were violating him.
“Stay by my side and don’t run. Since you said you liked me, you’re not allowed to go anywhere except with me.” Yan Buwang unbound the iron chains on Rong Jin’s hands and said without expression, “If you deceive me, I’ll take you back to Shura Valley and lock you up for a lifetime.”
Rong Jin opened his mouth and tried to speak, but at that moment his face suddenly turned white. He painfully covered his heart, and then abruptly spat out a mouthful of black blood on the ground!
