Chapter 8

For predators in nature, their favorite targets are the heads and anuses of their prey, with the latter being particularly favored. The head is usually well-protected and often the most dangerous part of the prey.

In the past, Lin Bei watched animal documentaries where lions and tigers would often bite the anuses of wild buffaloes. Every time he saw this, he felt a chill run down his spine. The anus is different from the neck; a bite to the neck would quickly kill the prey, but a bite to the anus could cause the prey to convulse for half an hour. This is an exceptionally cruel hunting method, but many people might not think much of it, as it is the law of the jungle, and one cannot expect these mindless creatures to eat elegantly.

As the wild wolf lunged at Lin Bei's tail, these images flashed through his mind. He thought to himself that these creatures had indeed not changed at all over thousands of years, still having a passionate interest in the anus.

Lin Bei's tail sprang up, drawing a small circle in the air, and a sharp whistling sound could be heard as it lashed toward the wolf's head.

"Hard head, iron legs, soft waist" describes the characteristics of wolves. In fact, not just wolves, but almost all fierce beasts have this feature: their heads and limbs are the hardest, while their waists are extremely fragile. Lin Bei wanted to attack the wolf's waist, but the wolf's movements made it difficult. So, Lin Bei steeled his resolve and decided to see whether the wolf's head was harder or his tail whip was more powerful.

Both attacks were astonishingly fast. The wolf missed its target, and as Lin Bei's tail whip was about to strike its head, the wolf suddenly crouched, dodging the tail whip and then charging to Lin Bei's front. It leaped up, its mouth wide open, and its sharp teeth aimed at Lin Bei's neck.

The pack of wolves let out low growls and moved in unison, leaping over the distance with a startling momentum.

When the wolf dodged the tail whip, Lin Bei's heart sank. The wolf's speed was beyond his expectations. As the wolf was about to bite his neck, Lin Bei could no longer hold back and rammed his head forward, colliding with the wolf's mouth.

A dull thud echoed, and the wolf let out a low howl as it was directly knocked away. In terms of size and strength, Lin Bei was absolutely superior.

However, at that moment, over a dozen wolves had already pounced on Lin Bei, each opening their mouths to bite him. At this point, Lin Bei's large size became a weakness, as each wolf could find a place to bite.

"Damn!"

Lin Bei cursed inwardly as sharp pain shot through his body. The wolves' teeth bit into him mercilessly, but fortunately, they did not penetrate too deeply, as the hardness of the snake scales blocked most of the biting force.

Lin Bei roared inwardly and began to roll wildly, lashing out with his tail and ramming with his head. At this moment, he relied more on his body's instincts.

Wolves are not only cruel to their prey but also to themselves. They clamped down with a death grip, twisting their heads to increase the biting force, refusing to let go even when pinned under Lin Bei. Blood from Lin Bei's body splattered, staining the ground red.

Bang! Bang!

Lin Bei's tail swept two wolves away, sending them flying several meters. They whimpered and convulsed, unable to get up due to the incredible force of Lin Bei's attack.

Despite this, Lin Bei felt the situation was dire, as over a dozen wolves were still clinging to his body. The snakes' most powerful weapon, constriction, was impossible to use. However, Lin Bei remained exceptionally calm.

After several rolls, Lin Bei's body collided with a tree. His snake body then coiled around the tree, trapping the wolves that were biting him against it. With a powerful effort, his entire body began to squeeze and constrict.

Auuu!

The wolves only managed to let out a single howl before being crushed into meat paste by Lin Bei's immense strength, their internal organs and blood squeezed out.

After killing these wolves, Lin Bei immediately changed his angle, trapping the wolves on the other side against the tree and squeezing them again. Blood rained down, and Lin Bei's body was instantly relieved.

This was the power of intelligence. Even though his snake body was strong, in the attack of over twenty wolves, he might have only managed to kill one or two. But now, Lin Bei's results were abundant, and only nine wolves remained, including the three he had knocked away and the one he had rammed. The rest had been strangled to death on the tree.

However, Lin Bei was also in a sorry state. He had underestimated the ferocity of the wolves, leaving him with dozens of large, bleeding wounds. Some wounds still had wolf teeth embedded in them. Fortunately, snakes have a strong constitution, and if a human had lost this much blood, they would have fainted long ago. Lin Bei only felt weak and slightly less agile, but the situation was not severe.

The alpha wolf was still alive. Although it had bitten Lin Bei, it had jumped away when Lin Bei collided with the tree, showing a more advanced fighting instinct than the other wolves. Now, it was quite agitated, stimulated by the blood, its claws leaving deep marks on the ground. It was ready to launch a second attack, but it was clearly intimidated.

The pain from his wounds made Lin Bei somewhat agitated. He could have climbed the tree to escape, but he had no intention of retreating. Instead, he charged forward, determined to kill all the wolves.

The alpha wolf howled, and the six uninjured wolves leaped away. Lin Bei's snake tail rose, smashing the three injured wolves flat, then pointed at the alpha wolf with his bloodied tail, full of provocation.

A howl echoed, as the wolves communicated. Finally, with a mournful howl from the alpha wolf, the pack slowly retreated and soon disappeared.

Feeling the wolves leave his range of perception, Lin Bei let out a sigh of relief. Then, he sensed something and looked up. Not far away, on a tree, the leopard he had seen earlier was staring at him intently.

Lin Bei raised his body and opened his mouth wide, threatening the leopard. The leopard leaped away after a few bounds.

Only now was he truly safe, but the strong scent of blood would soon attract other forest predators. Lin Bei quickly left the area, climbed a large tree, and began to examine his wounds, reflecting on the battle.
